Blizzard in Minneapolis (1 Viewer)

I live in Rochester MN and I can say this is a bad one, even for Minnesota. It's supposed to continue through the morning, so I'm not so sure they will be flying into Minneapolis in the AM.
The airport has already reopened. :yucky:
I doubt it, but again, I live in Rochester. The one here is closed.
You doubt it? Well, ok, but that's what they reported on the news... that it was only closed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

They're staying the night in KC. It looks like the game will be moved to Monday.
Not sure where you're getting that.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Sunday's game was still scheduled to start at 1 p.m. EST, with the Giants planning to fly to Minnesota on Sunday morning.
ESPN.com
Not if NYG aren't there tonight it won't.
Did you even bother to read the article that was linked? It clearly says that the Giants are flying in Sunday morning, and the 1pm SUNDAY start time is still the plan.
No I didn't Cuz It wasn't linked and thus I didn't even no there was an article. I am surprised if that is the case, as that would seem to be a fairly significant disadvantage due to jetlag/disruption of schedule etc, Especially when they've done a few 2x MNF's so logistically it shouldn't be too hard, and would likely be a ratings boon for a pretty good game.

Can you even imagine the 'wrongful death' lawsuits that the NFL would face if the plane went down from trying to fly into a blizzard, let alone the publicity.

I don't know if the airport in Minneapolis is open or not, but I do see a blizzard outside my window and the airport in Rochester is closed.

What does that have to do with the game tomorrow?

This thread is a perfect example of why some of the posters here don't have any common sense.

Really? You don't know if it's open? Even though I've told you twice now that it is?

The funniest part about his reply was that even if he didn't "no" there was an article (hint: that's what the underlined text means), I had quoted the relevant sentence where Aiello said they would be flying in Sunday morning and the plan was still to start at 1. I love all these people who are convinced they know more about the situation than the league spokesman. :lmao:

Really? I'm doubting their ability to fly into Minneapolis in the morning. Look for the game to get moved to a later time or even Monday.
Did you stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night?
No Richard, I didn't.
I think that is reportable. Let me know based on your knowledge of reporting people.
What's your problem?

What time do you think the game will be on Monday?
Actually I predict it will be moved to 4:00 tomorrow. What do you think?
I think you have no clue as to anything here other than it is snowing where you live.
The only "clue" I have is that there is blizzard conditions outside and the weather service said it will continue through Sunday morning. I only know what I've been told, just like you :lmao:

I get that the SB has always been in warmer climates, because of reasons x,y,and z, but the SB was never "meant" to be played in balmy warm conditions. Meaning: The SB wasn't specially created to be played in warmer climates, where if it was played in colder climates it wouldn't work. Analogy: Household scissors were meant to cut paper, not rocks. The SB was never meant to be played in specific climate conditions, it just always has for a laundry list of reasons.

I appreciate your condescending remarks, though. :bs: Really gets your point across.
How slow are you? The SB HAS never been played in a cold climate other than Detroit(in a dome). That was been done for several reasons and some of those don't include the weather for the game. If you don't understand that I suggest you do some research on the reasons why the SB has not been played in colder climates.
Pretty slow. :) I never said the SB has played in a cold climate. I also said there SB has played in warm weather climates for a laundry list of reasons. So I really don't understand what you are trying to point out in regards to my previous post.

Who are the idiots who want the Vikings to build a new stadium without a roof, exactly?! I'm all about trying to be a tough-guy for the wife and to impress my two kids...but who in their right minds would want to pay a couple hundred bucks to sit and freeze their arses off in some bleachers with the wind howling?! And before Packer fans chime in, I said who in their RIGHT minds... :lmao:
Probably The Same People That Remember That The Vikings Used To Play Outdoors And Went To 4 Superbowls When They Played Outdoors. How Many Times Have They Been There Since They Moved Indoors?

Glad I dont live in that stuff. And Garda brings up an excellent point. SuperBowl in Jersey is a really really bad idea.....

You could all watch in mild balmy conditions in Florida the way SB was meant to be played. Or freeze your ### off up north. Hope the $2K/ticket is worth it. Ask if it includes the thermal undies and parkas. LOLOLOL
Why Not Have The SB In A "Cold" Weather Outdoors City Once In A While Since There Are Still Teams That Have To "Occasionally" Have To Deal With The "Cold" Weather During The Playoffs.Oh Yeah That's Right The Players Are Too "Soft" To Tough It Out By That Point Of The Season So The Look To SB Week As A "Vacation".
The Super Bowl in warm climates has little to do with playersand the game and lots to do with corporate sponsor attendees, tcket holders and attached events. It's not - whatever the NFL says - about level of play. It's all about comfort level. That's what has made the NY/NJ SP wierd.Hey I'm all for it. It makes my chances of seeing a SB live better.

Look at the bolded part above that you wrote which I copied below.
Meaning: The SB wasn't specially created to be played in warmer climates
Again, go do some research on why the SB has been played in the cities it has.

per Judd Zulgad, Vikings beat writer:

Hearing now it's official that Vikings and Giants will play on Monday night instead of Sunday. Favre's SC joint gets another day.

Also from Ralph Vacchiano, NYG beat writer:

The #NFL has confirmed: The #NYG-Vikings game will be played on Monday night instead.

Added to what has just been posted

From Mark Maske's Twitter feed (Was Post)

The NFL has announced on its Web site that the Giants-Vikings game has been rescheduled for Monday night because of the snow in Minneapolis.

hmmm

Rotoworld) The New York Giants are stuck in Missouri after severe blizzards in the Twin Cities caused St. Paul International Airport to temporarily close. Analysis: The team has been forced to conduct team meetings and walk-throughs at MCI Airport, and will spend Saturday night in Kansas City. Weather permitting, the Giants will take off for Minnesota first thing Sunday morning, and travel straight to the Metrodome, as the schedule 12:00pm CST kickoff time has still not change

Why wouldn't this be a forfeit?

Is this a surprise storm? Shouldn't they have known this could happen and shouldn't they have gotten there earlier?

It's semantics. You are looking at one part of my post out of context to the rest. Let's just agree to disagree, because I think this is all very irrelevant to this thread. On another note, I hope this is pushed to MNF

Why in the world would there be a forfiet? when has that EVER happened? The last thing the NFL will do is cancel a game when moving the time makes it possible to be played.Goodell is sure as heck not going to be the first modern commish to cancel a game.

Ain't it a ##### when the guy with no 'common sense' is smarter than you...:cry:Game moved to MNF. "common sense' (the battle cry of the uneducated, second only to 'street smarts'.)

Any ideas as to how this is handled TV-wise. Will it be an ESPN doubleheader? On Fox? NFL Network? Only available in the local markets?

*hums are you ready for some football* This thread is so awesome. More twists than an M. Night Shyamalin movie with just as much unintentional hilarity. Good stuff.

Actually I stayed at a Ramada Inn last night. My granddaughter's 11th birthday swimming party.

Never would have thought such an innocuous subject would incite a riot, right?I am glad the game got moved. Extra game on Monday, just adds to the drama of the first week of fantasy playoffs. Exceptional.

The Giants/Vikings Week 14 matchup has been postponed until Monday Night.

Kickoff time is TBD. Air travel was not safe at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport,
