Boston Guys - Help me Get to Worcester (1 Viewer)

I have a trade show coming up at the DCU center  The first weekend of March.  Looking at a map it appears to be quite a ways outside of Boston and I’m not sure which airport I should try to fly into to make that Uber quicker.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

You can fly into Worcester now a bit more easily.

If not, the drive isn't bad at all to be honest. Rent a car and drive it.  There is plenty of parking around the DCU center.

It's about an hour.  Maybe a little less from Providence, a little more from Manchester.  I wouldn't let the cost of the drive sway you from the best flight option.

Cab or the T (public transport) from the Logan Airport to South Station and taking the Commuter Rail is less but should take more time and be less convenient.  YMMV.

Plan a "meal" at Armsby Abby if you have a soul (i.e., like beer).  Food's good too.

I forgot about Providence airport. TF green has to be one of the easiest and quickest airports in the country to get through. Also a good option.

This. Plus you are ten minutes from Cranston, the greatest place on earth.  Huge plus imo.

yeah, I love TF Green.  The ride out to Worcester is really easy from there.  Providence is nicer than Worcester (I went to college in Worcester) so if you are staying a while, grab a hotel in Providence.

Southwest doesn't fly from MSP to Manchester or Providence?  In any event, just rent a car and drive from Logan or Green.  Not a big deal really.

So I am clear....

You are traveling for a conference, yes?  Conference is in Worcester.  You going solo or with colleagues?

Key questions:

1. One night, or multiple nights?

2. Planning on staying over a weekend at all?

3. Do you want to check anything out beyond the conference? (ie night life or cool tourist stuff, etc)

If it were me I would fly into Logan, rent a car, and I would stay in Natick or so (maybe Framingham).  That makes for an easy commute to the conference but also leaves the option to go into Boston to explore.  This option makes the most sense if you are staying for at least 3 days

Let's put it this way:

You will be in the car less time going from Logan to Worcester (at night) then the majority of Boston commuters will be in their car after work during rush hour

Would Logan be too far of a drive out late on a Friday night?
no, we're only talking an hour difference tops. Logan is in a part of town that's a real clusterhug to get in/out of during traffic times which is why we pursue Manchester/Prov options for buisness hours. late friday, no prob. direct flight logan, uber out

UPDATE!!!11!

Stupid storm has canceled my flight already. Not even sure if I’m gonna make it this weekend.

I will make sure to keep you all updated as I’m sure you were concerned about this.

Tree House makes great beer but there are several other breweries that I feel make as good if not better beer. I’m all set waiting in line several hours when there are other great beers to be had with much less effort.
I'm less than 10 minutes from the new Treehouse so I can track wait times if there's something there I really like/want.

ETA: Sorry about your flight. The weather around here is going to be something else all the way through mid-day tomorrow.

That is nice. I can now get Sip of Sunshine at my local craft beer store which is super convenient.

If you ever make it down to RI, you should check out the Tilted Barn in Exeter. That is 10 minutes from my house and I think their beers stand up to anyone's out there. Only open on Friday and Saturdays though and you do have to wait but you can buy drafts while in line.

Tilted Barn is now getting crazy popular too.  But I've never seen hype like I have when it comes to Treehouse.  I have 2 buddies that will wait in like for 30-45 mins for it.  Bananas.
