Boy who identifies as girl competing in girl's track (2 Viewers)

There's no way to make everyone happy, but if an athlete is a boy in almost every way except in his/her mind, I don't think she should be allowed to participate in athletics.  We're gonna make a bunch of girls unhappy, at several schools, to make one kid happy. That doesn't make sense to me.

I'm a liberal and I agree. I don't think this is a question of just showing a little decency and common sense like most other transgender issues- including transgender men competing in most sports as men, which I support. It's far more complicated.

Oh well, great discussion guys (and gals). To summarize, I think the solution we landed on is to stop having sports associated with the educational system.  Sounds good to me.

Forgive me but I have to get back to work now.  I think for the rest of the day I'm going to identify as President of the company.    :thumbup:

:lmao: nice guy higgs shares some of his personal life with the forum and sleazy forum guy tries to use it against him when he post stuff he doesn't agree with.  This was the same guy that had a moral outrage heart attack just the other day on here, but it turns out that was all theater because clearly he isn't a moral person.

I agree with your ultimate position here, but people who take that position should probably think about being respectful and calling people what they want to be called (ie transgender women, not "trangendered dudes") if they want to have a productive discussion about it.  Refusing someone's preferred gender identity makes it seem like your argument is about slighting transgenders rather than dealing with the tougher issues of what's in the best interests of all kids.  Just my :2cents:

I agree I should be more sensitive but in the sports arena, on paper and in competition, they are males.  If I identify as a woman tomorrow and clown my sister in a game of pickup basketball, it's a pretty demoralizing sleight to her and me both to portray it as some sort of relevant achievement.

We all agree that this rule in Connecticut is pretty bad, right? It can't just be about how you identify. 

I don't agree with everyone belittling the importance of high school sports. Are there bigger problems facing the world today? Yes, of course. But if you are going to have rules they might as well make some sense.

Of all the wacky left-wing nonsense I've heard in my life this takes the cake. The party of women's rights advocating for males to be allowed to compete in female athletics and have access to their locker rooms - unreal  :lmao:

 
My favorite part of this is all the conservatives rushing into this thread as fast as they can to take a position that a large majority of people, including many liberals, agree with.  Meanwhile we can't get a single poster to defend Donald Trump on substance.
