Bragging, venting, crowing, grieving... (2 Viewers)

He can't be starting Terrible Pryor against the team that I need to lose so I can make the playoffs?

He is! He is! Hey commish make him pick up someone and play them

The commish does and the whole league (about $3,000 worth) has picked a side and is starting to fight.

How do you feel about quitters and what is the best coarse of action?
If he has started other non starter players and it hasn't been fixed in previous weeks it shouldn't be fixed now.

####### Awesome!!! I mean ####### awesome week!!!!! On a bye after running up a 12-1 record... Lets see who I'm rolling with next week.

Bush, maybe?

Lacy, maybe?

Gronk, prob not.

AWESOME!!!! I ####### hate FF!!!

Hate is a strong word... so let's just say I'm not too fond of A.Jeffery getting all these jump balls opportunities as a B. Marshall owner

Top seed, highest points in the league by far, and unless Church gets a pick six, headed for a first round exit.

I lost by less than a yard. Seriously, as in if anyone on my team got another yard I'd have won: 137.54 - 137.52 :kicksrock:

Fantasy Football is stupid.

I am going to lose to a terrible team in the first round of the playoffs... he's starting Hartine, Edelman, and R. Mathews who combined for 4 TDs today. His only good player is L.Fitz who also scored a TD. It's only a 10 team league so it's pretty surprising that his team is this ####### bad. Further, I would be 10-4 against this steaming pile of dog #### of a team if we played every week... instead I am 0-2 in the regular season and will be 0-1 in the playoffs unless Forte and Marshall outscore P.Thomas and G.Olsen by 34 points... ####### bull####.

Going into the match up I looked good with N.Foles, D.Jackson and Megatron in what looked to be a high scoring shootout with tons of passing yards.... instead a ####### white-out causes PHI to run all day.

And I'm my own worst enemy too... sitting KC defense for NE... what a ####### stupid ####### move. Also got tired of J. Cameron not scoring more than 5 points since week 8 so I cut his ### for J. Cook.... good move there you ####### moron.
Fantasy Football is the greatest game ever invented!!!!!111  !!!!11!!! I started the game trailing by 39.9 points and ended up winning by 5.6 points.

I started Josh McCown over RG III.

F'n genius.

Full disclosure: I was pretty sure I had Cade McKnown on my team. Apparently I missed the memo he's been out of the league for over a decade.

F'n genius.

I will add a brag and a rant. Finished the season as the #1 seed and most points by a ton.

Going to go ahead and rant since I will likely get ousted next week by a team that I am 12-2 against this season if we played every week and I oustcored overall by 356 points. I have never won a title as the #1 seed.

Very happy in my 13th year Re-Draft league to see the 2 best teams meeting in the Finals.

I'm 2nd in total point (-18), was the 2nd seed, and we've been trading that points lead all year, and now get to meet in the finals with our powerful squads.

Gonna be a good Christmas.

Last week I broke my keeper league's scoring record (177ish) set by yours truly in Week 1 with 184.62 points. This week I broke the record I set last week with 185.62 points.

Finished 2nd overall behind a team that I will have outscored by 320 points on the season, but he'll get what's coming to him.

More good news: I get the ADP owner in the first round of the playoffs.

I'm fully confident will score 60 points next week.

Good- picked up McCown for a great matchup and had him in my lineup all week

Bad- Going into Monday's game down 30 with McCown and Romo against his Jeffrey thinking that no way does McCown out score Jeffrey by 30 if he is throwing to him all night. Pulled McCown for romo before the game.

Lost by 28..would have won by 2 with McCown. Grrrr.

Less important since it's only consolation, but McCown and Murray saved my bacon tonight. In this keeper league, the consolation winner gets the 1st pick overall for next draft, which means either a Bridgewater type or the best current player who wasn't kept.

That's awesome news on AP!

Down huge with McCown and Forte left to play against Romo and Dez to make playoffs. Yeeeeeaaaahhhh booooooyyyyeee! Get some!

I like that

putting your hopes on Romo is a no no. He's a born loser when it count

Unbelievable bad luck. I come into the Monday game up 54 with Murray going for me. He gets 19 points so with that I have a 73 point cushion and my opponent had 2 guys in the Monday night game. His 2 were McCown and Forte. They get him 75 combined and I lose by 2. Also factoring in is he had ABrown and got the extra 55 yards on that crazy play at the end of the Steelers game, which triggered a 5 point bonus for him for 100 yards receiving. To add insult to injury, because the commissioner didn't fix a scoring error from last year, I got screwed out of an extra 5 points bonus for McCoy hitting 200 yards, so really I won by 3 but don't get credit for it.

Hope there's some scoring change along the line but I probably won't get it.

Oh, and in my other playoff game this week, I lost by 1.53 points. It came down to Witten for me against Dez Bryant for him tonight. I was down .33 going in. He wins because Dez catches a second pass while Witten dropped his potential second catch earlier. I hate fantasy football.

First season of FF and I hauled in the highest points total across the league by 90 pts.

Playoffs start this week. My team is stacked but I'm worried they've busted out all their big games in the past three weeks and are due some duds...

Foles

Forte

Moreno

Gordon

K Allen

J Thomas

Murray

Crosby

Panthers

Stafford, Bernard, Vereen, V Jackson, Garçon, Fitzgerald

My fellow contenders are hurting at RB and are fuming at the depth I have and the players that don't even make it in my team ! :-)

Opponent this week, I have outscored for the past six weeks straight - cue me getting knocked out by him this week no doubt !

I have torn emotions.... I sold a couple players in dyno. Was hoping to have a lotto pick and the trade I made was hoping to have that person finish in the middle.

WELL - that guy went on a run and won the division.

I was out of it. I won the last week and the guy tied with me need 22 points out of Brees and Lynch last week and got 21. I back door in adn WON this week.

I don't think I have a chance again this week but stranger thigs have happened!!!!

Started Ryan Fitz over Andrew Luck .... benched Shane vereen for Andre Brown ....

Opponent had Charles, McCoy, and Dalton....'nuff said.

needless to say im down 44 ppoints heading into week2 of the playoff matchup. Its hard to not get excited though, I feel like a comeback is possible.

Luck
Murray
Vereen
Gordon
Demaryius

Marshall
Olsen
Gio Bernard
Pats Def
J. Tucker

SQUAD UP!!!!

Came in with the 3rd lowest score in a league of 12, but played the team with the lowest score and secured a wildcard spot. As defending champ, I had to at least make the playoffs.

Already clinched a division title in one league: 9-1 record

Will win another division title and first round bye with a win this week in another league: 9-1 record

Fighting for yet another division championship in another league with a three way tie for first place at 7-3.

May I remind everyone that I ignored RB for the first three rounds in the leagues where I am 9-1. I drafted Doug Martin in the first round in the league where I am 7-3.

25-5 combined record.

If only I ignored everyone's advice and drafted Calvin instead of Doug Martin in one league in the first round, the result would have been even better.

The new paradigm in fantasy football... Ignore RBs in the first three rounds.
Update: Another 2-1 week but suffered a tough loss in the league that I, you guessed it, drafted Doug Martin in the first round.

27-6 combined record

10-1 and clinched #1 seeds in the playoffs in two leagues

7-4 in the other league
With that catch by Welker, I have lost a tough matchup against a team in our league who has clinched the 2nd seed (Josh Gordon was primarily to blame for that).

Nevertheless, another 2-1 week.

29-7 combined record

11-1 and clinched the #1 seed in one league

10-2 and clinched the #1 seed and a first round bye in another league

8-4 in the final league... still in contention for the division title and a #2 seed.
In the final week of the regular season, I was confident that I would finish strong with a 3-0 record except that Drew Brees crapped in his pants. No matter, my 2-1 final week concluded one amazing regular season.

31-8 combined record

11-2 and #1 seed in one league

11-2 and #1 seed in another league

9-4 in final league and #3 seed... missed #1 seed by 48 points scored

This sets me up perfectly for an early exit from the playoffs!
With a bye, I had two first round playoff games and won them both.

I did get extremely lucky in one league. I had Newton, A Brown, Bryant, T Smith, and Gronk. :topcat: My opponent had Keenum (ARod on bench), Morris, and Bush. I won in a pitcher's duel, 61-48. Won the other league 128-106 with the help of Brees, Lacy, K Allen, Fitz, Graham, etc.

Final Four in all three leagues... thankfully have Cameron in the league where I have Gronk... hoping to keep the best season ever going despite all of the weather and injuries! :drive:

33-8 combined record

12-2, 11-2, 10-4 records in each league

Still alive in all 5 of my leagues despite sleeping through pre-game lineup adjustments which led to me starting Reggie Bush in 2 leagues and leaving Joique Bell on the bench in one other (bye weeks in the two leagues that weren't impacted).

Combined record of 52-15 (12-2, 11-3, 10-3, 10-3, 9-4). And currently up 62 points in a 2-week matchup despite the 0-fer from Reggie. The other league where I left Reggie in my lineup was effectively written off before Josh McCown bailed me out on Monday night (my opponent fielded the 'Boys D to make it sweeter).

Finished up 12-1 regular season in my 16 teamer with Most total points (half the $$)

All play record was 171-24. 88%. That is crazy.

4 weeks this year I played against an opponent who put up their highest point total of the year and still won all 4 match ups.
Put up the highest score of the week in the first round (no byes)

All play record is 186-24. 89%.

Won the first round of a 16 team dynasty league. Only have 2 QBs on my roster and they are RG3 and Ryan Mallett. Fml

Well, after a bye in 12 team league I'm looking at starting...

QB - Romo (d) or Tannehill (ww wk10)

RB - McCoy (d) and Vareen (d)

WR - Marshall (d)

WR - Gordon (d)

TE - Pitta (ww wk 13) or Reed (ww wk 5)

RB/WR Flex - J Bell(d), MJD (d) or Andre Johnson (d)

Easily my best draft in years. Really good chance of winning the league this year. I've started the WRs at flex all year long.

Dud of the week award goes to Ladarius Green. I don't own this ### clown in any leagues but my buddy who was in a playoff match and has Gates/green decided on Green with the help of my advise to boot, as everyone assured his role was growing and he was going to get 100-2 tds last week. HAHA what a total clown got 0 and gates had 9 .. My buddy lost by 8... Moral of the story should have kept Gates in, he beat himself but over the past 3 weeks Green had outperformed Gates but talk about bad luck and a hard way to lose with a very good team by 1 point when you had Gates in the week before.

I put up 142 points this week. The league average is around 96 per week, so that is a really good score. That score is so good, that in the 15 year history of the league, no team has scored more during one of the playoff weeks. And that is with Calvin being handicapped with the weather. My team is stacked; it is one of the greatest teams I have ever assembled. Peyton, Calvin, Keenan Allen, Moreno, Stacy, Vereen, Vernon Davis, with Ray Rice and Pierre Thomas on the bench. This is my favorite league and a very competitive league as well, which makes it all the more satisfying.

I had the most total points of any team during the regular season, and if you add in this week no team is within 100 points of me. Most teams have 200 points less than I do, which is considerable when you realize teams average under 100 a week.

But this is not a bragging post. It is definitely a venting/grieving post, because I did not even make the playoffs. I am in the consolation bracket. And that 142 points I previously mentioned? My opponent has 144, so he has the playoff record. Until this week, he had the fewest points in the league. This drops me to 9 losses in 14 weeks. Next week I will play the 11th place game, and if I lose that, I will finish the season in last place…..with Peyton Manning, Calvin Johnson, and the most points in the league. In this 12 team league, the highest scoring team has played against me each of the past three weeks. All of my wins have been blowouts, and I am 0-5 in close games.

This is my 16th year playing fantasy football spanning many different leagues and many different setups, and I have never seen anything anywhere near as absurd as the outcomes in this league. When you play head-to-head you expect peculiar results now and then, but the results in this league are almost totally random. Three of the five highest scoring teams didn’t even make the playoffs. The non-playoff teams outscored the playoff teams by about 100 points during the regular season. It is worse than that though, because the non- playoff teams are surging while the playoff teams are falling apart. This week alone, non-playoff teams will outscore the playoff teams by around 115 points. I can’t take the winner of the championship bracket seriously when the majority of the good teams aren’t even participating.
Congrats, you have arrived. For years I would get pissed when EVERY year a 6-7 or 5-8 team woul dsneak into the playoffs and win the whole thing. I'd have teams for 10-3 or 11-2 and get knocked out in the first round. Playoffs are only an indicator of who is hot over a 3-4 week period, not who has the best team. Once you come to grips with it, it is less frustrating and makes the hobby far more enjoyable.
I see these same frustrations in leagues all the time and have these same pull your hair out moments so I'm curious to ask you guys:

If the playoffs mean nothing, why do you continue to play? What's the point when you see time after time after time that the best teams don't make it in the playoffs and you have to refer to some middle of the pack team as champ?

Well, after a bye in 12 team league I'm looking at starting...

QB - Romo (d) or Tannehill (ww wk10)

RB - McCoy (d) and Vareen (d)

WR - Marshall (d)

WR - Gordon (d)

TE - Pitta (ww wk 13) or Reed (ww wk 5)

RB/WR Flex - J Bell(d), MJD (d) or Andre Johnson (d)

Easily my best draft in years. Really good chance of winning the league this year. I've started the WRs at flex all year long.
I feel like I should brag about my brother and I co managed team:

Standard 12 team

Qb stafford or foles

Rb McCoy

Rb Charles

Wr aj green

Wr josh Gordon

Te Julius Thomas

Def kc

Flex Vereen or Andre brown

Bench

Leveon bell

Ellington

Roddy white

Keenan Allen

Benched, in 1 PPR+ long rush/reception bonuses:

Allen for Demaryius

Mathews for Murray

Other starters @ WR1 Calvin and WR2 Andre

:wall:

Yes, on a team with Moreno, Ball, J and D Thomas, Decker, etc, it naturally figures that the Broncos lead red zone target in a FF playoff week would be Andre Caldwell.

Thanks caldwell for ruining my night. Decker and JT killing me. Even my rivers/allen combo is way too conservative. Ugh disaster

Wanted to bench Demaryius for VJax but could not do it. Now I wish I did.

One league had Thomas and Knowshon...big fat off to start off this week.

Other league had Knowshon again which was ok...but had Allen which was quite nice. Added bonus of Decker and J. Thomas not doing much and its a decent start there.
