Bragging, venting, crowing, grieving... (1 Viewer)

Beckham's one 80 yard catch swing three championships from wins to losses for me (have a longshot in one, but unless CJ Anderson gets hurt like right away I'm toast).

I really think nothing is crueler than riding so high on a fantasy stud all year just to have them crash and burn in the championship. In one league, all I needed was one of Luck's "bad games" to bring it home. Instead, I got what will probably be his career worst day.

Survived Rivers on my fantasy bench thanks to Luck finding the real one and ODB snatching a league title for me that should have been out of reach.

I won my work league($250). Im up by 26 in my other league. He has Peyton Manning and Demaryius Thomas. I have CJ Anderson. Going to be a fun Monday night. Hope I can hold him off. If I win it will be another $250. So a $500 Christmas bonus

If I do win it will be because I own Odell Beckham Jr in both leagues.

Same here. Also on that team I had Olsen and Gordon. Was favored to win by like 50. Will now likely lose (up 20 but he has anderson and hauschka). Just a below average Luck game probably seals it for me.

What a gutpunch of a week 17.

Brees + Graham 4 TO's between them & 2 TD's taken away from the busted fumble call = 20 point swing.

Hauschka misses 2 50+ FGs and a 40+ FG = 11 point swing.

^Amazing.

+31 points would've made my championship matchup about even going into MNF with my Sanders+Hill tomorrow ag opponent's DT+Broncs DST. I would've like my chances for a three-peat and 4 champs in 5 years......

I'm not even mad anymore. :topcat:

Had Haushka and a28 point lead going against Lynch and CJ Anderson. (NON PPR) Haushka misses 3 FGs, Lynch busts a 79 yarder after not taking a carry in the first qtr, and my lead is down to 8 with 10 minutes and all of CJ left :(

IN a league I dominated wire to wire against a team looking to score his best of the season to boot

Worse....had Wilson on the bench :(

How can you lose a fantasy matchup w/ Jordy & ODB in your lineup week 16? Pro Tip: start Josh McCown as your QB, that's how.

Lynch's long TD was brutal for me. Opponent is down 17 points with only CJ Anderson left to play. Gonna be another late night of nail biting tomorrow.

I benched Wilson for RG3 at the last minute. It's going to cost me the championship in that league, not that I don't deserve to lose it for meddling at the last minute.

I've got these all beat.

Benched McCoy for Forsett on Friday. Ok lose a few points there.

Have Luck. Ok, not so great..

24 point lead going to the night game. 92-8% favoured.

I have Hauschka, second most accurate kicker in the HISTORY of the league misses THREE field goals.

He has Wilson. AZ is better than average vs QBs, but just happened to give up the most yards in 50 years.

Peterson goes to strip Lynch on his long run instead of pushing him out in field goal range.

Wilson converts 3rd down in field goal range with 5 minutes left.

Wilson runs in a garbage time TD.

I lose. About 4 different 95% against things had to happen in the same day. Fun times.

Wilson killed me too in a league with a $500 prize. Only chance to win in that league is if Sanders sits and Rahim Moore has three tackles. The emotional saving grace is I couldn't have set a better lineup unless I had benched Olsen for Tipton which wasn't happening.

In another money league, I benched Tannehill for Cam based on Haden being out and thinking I needed the upside of a motivated Cam. Yeah, overthought that one :bag: and we're virtually tied with his Peyton (with Von Miller) against my Sanders (with Talib and Ware). With Tannehill I probably win. With Cam, probably not.

But hey, at least I'm up by 35 in a free redraft.

Can't write this stuff. Payouts are most points in reg. season + 1st/2nd place in playoffs.

2nd in reg. season pts obviously.

Lose in semis by 2pts thanks to this parlay:

- McCoy getting 3TDs vultured because Chris Polk is this generation's Bettis.

- b.s. holding penalty negates Foster TD.

- Wilson's worst game in however many games.

- Antonio Brown out at the 1yd line.

- J. Bell's worst game in however many games.

- Rams 5pt dud vs AZ.

- Murray gets 2 TDs in a game he does nothing.

- PI in endzone gives Ivory cheap TD in game he does nothing.

For a normal fan that would be enough torture. Not for me, no siree Bob - this Bills fan needs the extra hard kick in the groin. So I waffle crush both of the finalists in week 16 by about 50pts.

What's it like to be lucky? I'll never know, this s### happens every year.

F### you fantasy football.

just curious how was that a 20 pt swing?

I might still win my championship game (I have D. Thomas + 2.5 VS J. Thomas tonight), but it's only because all 4 of these NFL plays went against me:

  1. NO returns the opening kickoff to the 1 yard line - M. Ingram scores on the next play (+6.1 for my opponent)
  2. J. Graham fumbles at the .1 yard line (-8.1 for me)
  3. Hauschka misses 2 50+ FG attempts (-10 for me)
That's a 24.2 point difference on just 4 NFL plays and basically the difference between me having it locked up and me potentially losing the game. This is why I always chop the pot if my opponent is willing... this hobby we all play ultimately comes down to dumb luck.

ETA: I didn't even realize Hauschka missed 3rd FG on the night until this morning :X Add another 3 points to my misery.

ETA2: I didn't even mention J. Nelsons 1 yard TD catch, or A. Foster throwing a TD pass which both occurred for my opponent; that's another 12 points..

There's got to be some great stories to tell in here. I was a beneficiary of Luck's bad game. Was trailing by about 10 points with only Beckham and Murray left and my opponent with Luck, Watkins, Vinatieri and the Colt's D/ST. Then Watkins got an early score. I had already congratulated my opponent. Still can't quite believe it.

I only play one league, same one for 25 years. So stakes are always high to do well or go home.

Russell Wilson delivered for me, I've been a fan and overdrafted him two years straight, but this year he rewarded me!

Shout out to Dez who last week helped me with a couple of bonehead moves and Jordy who was my WR1 all year, and Eddie Lacy who was the RB1 I needed all season.

Although Kelvin Benjamin didnt score yesterday, he was another key piece to my season.

And thanks to FootballGuys, espcially Sigmund Bloom, who's "on the couch" podcast is essential listening all year and helped me form my key draft day moves and in-season management. And his "Up/Down and WW report and 2nd Opinion rankings are my go to. And thanks DD as my steady sanity check to talk me out of wacky lineup choices.

It was a really exciting and fun year!

I'm down 68.38 points. I have Peyton, Demaryius, CJ Anderson, Barth going against Orange Julius. I benched Stewart and Gore. Need a shoot out tonight.

Looking pretty good to go 3 for 3 in my championship games!

League 1: up 85 with Sanders against his DT and Hill

League 2: up 5 with Peyton and Green against his Sanders

League 3: up 41 with no one against his DT

Started the season 2-0 after trading Josh Gordon, Latimer, James White for KB, Spiller, Bryce Brown after week 1.

Traded Calvin for Julio and Crowell week 3, just before Calvin started missing time.

Traded Cam and BTate for Rodgers.

Lost 5 in a row. At 2-5, I traded Julio and Gio for Antonio and Forte, just before Gio started missing time.

At 3-7, traded KB and Sproles for OBJ and Stills, just before OBJ's breakout, knowing I had to win out to even make the playoffs.

Won out, 6 in a row, to win super bowl even though I traded Ertz/McKinnon for Olsen/Carey this week thinking it would be the last piece of the puzzle to beat a guy who's team dominated all year.

Been playing fantasy 17 years, and this was the most satisfying year. Literally all of my trades worked out.

I plugged in Donte Moncrief at WR2 right before kickoff. Oof.

I played Jamaal Charles even though I suspected Tre Mason might be better. Oof.

My opponent has Odell Beckham. Oof.

But I have Russell Wilson. SOOOO much fun thinking you're done, then coming back like that.

Up one going into MNF. I have CJ. Opponent has AJ.

Let's do this! :moneybag:

My three teams with Luck all made the finals, not a coincidence. Two are definite losses, one has a chance tonight with a big game from CJ. Also not a coincidence. That was shocking. The only QB that Luck outscored was Manziel, who got hurt. If only I had started Ryan Lindley instead.

Thank you Wilson won my first championship in a league I have been in for over 22 years.Luck is not my friend most years but this year it rolled in my favor finally.

After making it to the championship off the garbage time points of Ingram/Cutler last week, my opponent benches Torrey Smith for Donte Moncreif and is starting Luck and I've got Russell Wilson going, so I've won the championship by a very large margin. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

Went with NE defense (8 pts) over GB defense (22 pts). Started Stafford over Tannehill. Started Boom Herron over Andre Williams.

Still have a decent shot to win though, as my opponent benched Gore for Andre Johnson and got a 0 from Dwayne Allen. I need Demaryius, Barth, and an 8 pt lead to hold off Peyton and the Broncos D...

Skipper, we have the same teams! One of my Luck lead teams has a chance with C.J. going nuts tonight. I can't believe how horrible Luck and the Colts were on Sunday. By the way, my other team has Romo as my #1 QB while another team Romo sat on the bench for Luck. Of course I would not bench Luck...who saw this train crash happening? Good luck with C.J.!

^Had em both this year for another season of double dipping. 2013 was far better than this year that's for sure. Brees became a TO monster.

4 TO's at -2 points apiece

The TD turned fumble was -6 for Brees pass TD and -6 for Graham rec TD.

All the complaining i did didnt matter. My opponent has 170 and counting. And he wouldnt have even been here if it wasnt for ingrams td last week. And i wouldve won vs the other guy
