Brandon Jacobs - Week 13 (1 Viewer)

War Eagle

Droughns sure didn't do anything as expect and Ward is really having a difficult time with his injuries. It would be a good matchup against the chicago Def.

Post JACOBS updates here....

after last week... the Giants need Ward or Jacobs out there... the NY beat writers are usually off so I'm not going to bother with their reads.

He did so light work last Friday so thats a good sign for him... but we won't know anything until this Friday; unless he practices Mid-week... which I doubt.

Crickets so far....any updates?
We won't know anything offical until Friday unless he practices Today or Thursday. Some beat writer wrote that the smart thing to do is sit him again... but I disagree; this game is too important, Giants lose here... and they would be 1 - 3 in their last 4.They play so much better when hes in the line up... the only Team that beat them when he played was Dallas.. and that 2nd game was very close until BJ's TD was taken away and they NYG fell apart. So as a Team, they need him. if hes ready... get him out there; limit his touches if need be but get him rolling.

Giants | Ward practicing Wednesday

Wed, 28 Nov 2007 09:17:15 -0800

Arthur Staple, of Newsday, reports New York Giants RB Derrick Ward (groin, ankle) is participating in practice Wednesday, Nov. 28.

:)

Jacobs not cleared, but Ward might be

Brandon Jacobs, RB NYG

News: The Newark Star-Ledger reports that while Giants RB Brandon Jacobs is optimistic he'll play at Chicago in Week 13, other signs suggest otherwise. Trainers haven't cleared Jacobs to return to action yet with his troublesome hamstring, and Giants coach Tom Coughlin expects Derrick Ward (ankle, groin) to appear on the practice field this week.

Analysis: Jacobs would be a stat beast at Chicago, but right now it's unlikely he will play. As for Ward, continue to check on his status throughout the week. If he plays, he'd be a solid No. 2 Fantasy RB option. Reuben Droughns would revert to a short-yardage/goal-line role in that case, and he'd be a low-end No. 3 choice. We'll continue to bring you the news on the Giants' running game. :lmao:

Chris Carlin from WFAN just reported that Jacobs worked on indivdual drills today... no mention of Sunday; but this is a good sign to me.

Derrick Ward-RB- Giants Nov. 28 - 5:09 pm et

Giants RB Derrick Ward (groin, ankle) returned to a complete practice Wednesday and will play in Week 13, barring setbacks.

Ward could be sore on Thursday after making it through his first full practice in over a month, but should be active at Chicago. We'd guess Ward would get a few more touches than Reuben Droughns, but Droughns remains the favorite for any goal-line opportunities. Either would be a risky flex play.

Brandon Jacobs-RB- Giants Nov. 28 - 5:07 pm et

Brandon Jacobs (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday.

He took part in individual drills and doesn't seem likely to be available to face the Bears. Derrick Ward and Reuben Droughns figure to share carries.

EXCELLENT! I'm hoping Jacobs is held out one more week in order to get full strength again! That's good news for a Wednesday.

Jacobs is not optimistic about his return.

Brandon Jacobs worked out individually at practice yesterday, though the running back is not optimistic about his return.

"I'm not quite there yet," Jacobs said. "I didn't do as much as I would have liked."

Does anyone know if ward is actually playing?

If he's not 100% I don't know how many carries he's going to get even though Droughns does nothing but run it in from the 1

Wards been out for a few weeks now and I really want to plug him into the lineup this week. Sharing carries and first real contact in a month...... Thoughts on production anyone?

I think it will be a true 50/50 split this week. They really can't afford to have Jacobs and Ward hurt so they will lighten his load. Droughns will definitely get GL carries, so Ward is probably a marginal play IMHO. PPR league, maybe a little better.

I agree, if you don't have any other quality options, he isn't horrible, but I don't see more than 50-70 yards and the outside chance of a TD. Probably better in PPR though.

This was my feeling as well, It seems like they've been trying to balance the 2 between injuries in effort to make sure they have at least 1 guy healthy. It is a deep roster PPR and I sit Jurivcous and his 4-7 catches and 60 -80 yards every week. With Braylon not 100% that might be the play. Thanks for the thoughts fellas. Sorry dont wanna turn this into a WDIS. good luck
