I don't remember the source, but I read a day ago that Brandon Lloyd (as well as Devin Hester) were named the Bears starting WRs? Any homers know more about this? I assume this puts a damper on Rashied Davis's fantasy prospects.

However, I believe Hester and/or Davis will be the WRs to actually produce. Orton was connecting with Davis in preseason and said in an interview he has a lot of confidence in him, has a comfort level with him. I'd own 1) Hester 2) Davis before I'd own Lloyd.
No one Bear WR will really produce much other than maybe Hester. So I would not read much into it. There will be lots of spreading the ball (see Jax) between Hester, Lloyd, Bradley, Booker, Greg Olsen, Des Clark and Forte, so no real FF value in starting any of them. Only one with upside is Hester.
The Chicago Bears released their first depth chart of the 2008 season today. RB Matt Forte is listed as the starter for his position while QB Kyle Orton and QB Rex Grossman are listed as co-starters at theirs. WR Marty Booker and WR Rashied Davis were listed as the starters at wide receiver with WR Brandon Lloyd and WR Devin Hester listed as their primary backups, respectively
Never saw that, thanks. Maybe Lloyd wasn't promoted until the second or third week of camp, but I read that he was running with the starters several weeks ago.
Booker and Hester are the starters imho. Rashied Davis is an excellent slot receiver. All the Brandon Lloyd hoopla cracks me up isn't Lloyd like the worst producing starting WR to EVER play the game!!!
Lloyd is a good bet in a very deep league (I'm talking 32-teamers mainly) because everyone is so low on him that he gets no hype. I think there's a very good chance of 40/600/4 with some limited upside and less limited downside Those aren't rosterable numbers in most leagues, but if you go deep enough those kind of numbers could make you very happy. He's my WR3 in a 32-teamer and since he was around the 100th off the board (before he was getting starting talk) I'm not too worried one way or the other because he's a hit or miss pick as anyone that late should be.
