Brandon Lloyd, WR, New England Patriots (1 Viewer)

Sat him this week because of the shoulder. Never put him back in this morning when he was good to go. Even played Kyle Williams over him. Didn't think Williams would outscore him though.

How many damn bomb TD's is this fool gonna drop before he catches one?? He's great with the 12 yards circus catch and ballet like finish.

Huge pats homer here and I thought this dude was going to be huge for us. Flipped Colston in a dynasty for him in offseason. Dropped 2 huge balls today and so far looks like a 1 trick pony.

Is Lloyd the biggest ADP bust of the year? At least FBG has stopped ranking him like a WR1. Targets aren't points.

Its funny because I was not sold on Lloyd the past 2 seasons as being legit. I bought all in on him in his 3rd year in 2005 when he was supposed to break out. Busted on me then too. This year it was a modest 6th round pick in my leagues but still. Never trust Lloyd. Hopefully he has a good game or 2 so I can move him to a Pats homer or something.

LOL... I can't even find a trash player another owner will trade for Lloyd now. Praying he has a blow up week so I can unload this boat anchor.

Im holding, and there is no way even if the trend continues that Lloyd is even close to a bust. Hes WR30 in the PPR league I own him in, coming off a 1.6 pt game, -and he was drafted in the 5th round, hes been a WR2 all year, until this week.

I'd give you some chump for him in a second.if finnegan's on him this week I wouldn't expect much, and he has a bye next week, but then he's got a couple good weeks coming before he draws the jets again.

I offered him for Nate Washington... I have a bye issue week 9, other owner has an issue in week 11... hoping that is enough to entice the guy into pulling the trigger.

He accepted the offer without comment. I'll plug Washington in over Mal Floyd this week! (I was starting Floyd over Lloyd... again)

NE - WR Brandon Lloyd limited

Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Brandon Lloyd (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 24.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're benching Brandon Lloyd this week for a couple of reasons. First, the matchup is bad as the Rams secondary is a much improved unit. Second, Lloyd hasn't done much and doesn't have good chemistry with Tom Brady. There are better (safer) options out there than Lloyd at this time.
OUCH!

I dropped him with a salary of $14 last week and he slid through our silent auction so I was able to re-acquire at league minimum this week. Had to start him. Glad I did.

Any unfortunate owners dropping this bum for Edelman?

snap count week 11

WR Julian Edelman – 52 of 61

WR Brandon Lloyd – 34 of 61

I didn't understand all the love for him this past off season. He was generally going in the fifth round in most of my drafts. I thought I was missing something but just couldn't justify picking him that high.

My guess is that Welker and Edleman will be get most of the targets that would otherwise have gone to Gronk. If AH returns then my guess is the targets would be spread evenly among those 3 players.

If any of you have game rewind if u watch the coaches film of patriots game Lloyd was abusing the guy trying to cover him in man coverage. There is 2 problems I noticed. One Brady rarely looked to Lloyd's side of the formation the biggest thing I noticed is Lloyd's routes were usually deeper routes and BRADY WAS REALLY HAVING A HARD TIME WITH THE LONGER THROWS! It wasn't Lloyd not getting open I believe a lot of it is his routes are deeper sideline routes and Brady was just missing him.

Maybe Brady recognize his own arm limitations that's why he's lobbying for more Eldeman on the field. I think if a team comes up and presses Welker and Edelman Without Gronk Brady is really gonna struggle

Perhaps Brady has stopped looking Lloyd's way because he has been dropping balls that hit him right in the hands/numbers?

He has dropped some balls sure so maybe there is a lack of confidence there but the ones he does catch seems like he always gotta make spectacular catch. All I can say is watch the coaches tape he's getting open it's like Brady is a lot more effective throwing short to intermediate maybe I'm seeing things

You are not seeing things.Lloyd was wide open down the right sideline. Brady missed him badly. On a quick slant, Lloyd made an unbelievable catch on a ball over his head that was a rocket. Was more challenging than it should have been. They aren't connecting that well, but it isn't all Lloyd's fault.

Thank you so maybe Im not crazy. I think Brady is starting to decline and I think he over throws the deep ball because he knows his arm is weaker he really doesn't even attempt to throw deep outs. When he does throw outside its a back shoulder throw to make up for his lost of zip! This is not like Ocho cinco situation Lloyd is doing his job and getting open. Yes he has to catch the ball better but he is a excellent route runner who's being under utilized

I am not so sure the snap count issue isnt a one week thing, the patriots likely saw a match up they liked with Edelman and were trying to exploit it. That's what the patriots do.

I think Gronk being out is going to help Lloyd on several levels. The first being that Gronk is an excellent blocker and I believe that not having him will hurt the patriots ability to run the ball, something they have done a lot more of this year. I think we will see more spread offense with more Woodhead as the lone back and I think Lloyd's targets will definitely go up. I think his value has gone up, however if he draws Cromartie this week all bets are off for this week.

He is unreliable and barely worth a flex start in a playoff caliber lineup. As far as fantasy he is droppable. Key weeks coming up for FF and he will be nowhere near my lineup. If he was going to blow up this year it would have happened already.

Such a disappointment. The Pats have like 90 points in the first half.Lloyd? 1 catch for 12 yards.
I agree..... but the frustration is that he is getting targets..... he has had several long bomb targers just out of reach...usually 1 or 2 a game....8 targets a game is nothing to ignore. Tonight.... 3 for 26 on 6 targets. The fact he was wide open coming across the back of the end zone mid-way in 2nd qtr and an out of character poor throw by Tom or it would have been 6.

No way the other receivers end up with only 20 targets. Gaffney alone will get 60 . . . and that does not include the other guys that will end up on the roster. Plus Welker has consistently averaged 10 targets a game in his tenure in NE . . . trending more than that in recent years.
Yeahhhh, that's not going to happen (bolded portion).I agree that 50 targets for WR3-6 seems low, but that's what happened last year with 612 passes, so I'm going to have to disagree with the "no way" part of your statement.
Gaffney comes back to NE more seasoned and having played bigger roles on other teams. In his first go round, Gaffney secured 50-60 targets. I am not sure we should expect him to take a totally minimal role this time around when he was starting in Washington. NE already had a ton of other receivers . . . then why bring those guys in (including Gaffney) if they are only going to see 10 targets a year?As for your "that's how it was last year" comment, THAT'S WHY they went out and expanded their WR depth.

OTHER WR RECEPTIONS BEYOND WR 1 + 2 . . .

2011 23

2010 43

2009 67

2008 47

2007 82

2006 50

2005 71

2004 62

2003 68

2002 64

2001 40

That's an average of 56 receptions a year for all receivers not WR1 or WR2.

Gaffney may or may not get 50-60 targets, but I still think that all WRs not named Welker or Lloyd will will account for a lot more than people are allocating them for.
Gaffney?

They are just not on the same page - there was great potential here. He's a plug in if one of your starters goes down - usually can get you 6-8pts.
