Brandon Marshall Signs with Giants (1 Viewer)

So, been an unexpectedly great year so far for Marshall. He's back to the numbers we used to expect out of him. Is he a top 10 WR rest of way? Maybe better? He has been the most consistent WR in football and is on pace for 120/1600/12.

I drafted this guy all over the place as a WR2-3 after Fitz took over and it has been a great run so far. Could it be that Bowles and his coaches are better fits for him? Marshall delivered with Cutler in the past, so either their chemistry was not the issue or Cutler has gotten even more volatile over time. I lean towards coaches as the reason for the renaissance.

I feel like people just missed the boat. Wasn't he just hurt all last year? The year before he posted a juicy 100/1295/12. I guess people assumed the Jets offense would be a useless mess, but Gailey has created a quality NFL offense. Obviously it is early, but he is on pace for his best season yet and the Jets average strength of schedule for WRs rest of the way is best in the NFL.

You are correct in what you say but, to the doubters' defense, Marshall and the Jets are doing much more than anything Gailey has created in years.

Honestly, had Geno not been busted up, I seriously doubt Marshall and decker would have performed as well as they have. And, of course, the other shoe is yet to fall because we all know there is no way Ivory stays healthy a whole season.

The shoe already fell, Ivory has basically been hurt for 2 games. That hasn't stopped Marshall.

I'm thinking of dealing Hill/Green to get a Forte/Marshall combo. Marshall looks good and they team is trying to get the ball to him in a lot of ways. I don't think he has the upside week to week as maybe the Top 4 or 5 WRs, but his floor seems crazy high right now and should remain the focus of the offense, running game or not. (I also have Ivory, but those two are the focal points of the team.)

If you can pull that off, nice job. I like Marshall more than Green this year.

I want to trade Calvin for Marshall but can't seem to do it.

I think Marshall and Green are probably closer than some realize, but Green has a far better QB and a better chance of those monster games despite more competition for targets than Marshall. Although scoring definitely matters here because in PPR I think they are bound to finish even closer to each other, maybe even edge to Marshall.

But Id much rather have Forte than Hill, and once again PPR even moreso.

Man, I was higher than most on Marshall going into this year, had him projected as WR14 in non-PPR (5 catch bonus in one league, which of course he's got every week), but didnt land him in either of my main leagues which Im a little salty about. Cant blame myself too much as in one league my 2 picks prior to Marshall being drafted were Gore & Foster, in the other Foster & Martin, but in the latter I also took Cooks - who I had ranked as WR10 - far earlier than Marshall. That one stings.

Anyone remember his price in the FBG subscriber contest?

(RotoWire) Marshall (calf) was listed as a limited participant at practice Thursday.

Analysis: Marshall's addition to the Jets' Week 7 injury report makes the wideout's status for Sunday's game against the Patriots worth tracking, with further info on his availability for the contest set to arrive no later than the release of Friday's final injury report. Meanwhile, ESPN's Rich Cimini encouragingly notes that while Marshall is said to be dealing with a "sore calf," coach Todd Bowles indicated that at this stage he's not concerned about the wideout's availability.

Looks to be over his injuries, or Miami really sucks. Im hoping hes over the injuries, Ive been waiting for this blow up.

Prince Amukamara is no slouch.

But I am glad to see Marshall having a great year, he was highly under valued at the beginning of the season.

Always been a stud on the field, but it's simply a matter of time before he causes issues in the locker room. With that said, I love watching him play.

Last 3 games, last 6 games he has found the end zone. He is a hero.

9-131-2

12-131-1

6-125-1
It's not even fair how much stronger and more aggressive he is than the CBs covering him. If didn't have the drops so bad, he could have an even bigger year. He's dropped a couple TDs this year, including one yesterday.

He's done that every year, it's just the way it is with him. That being said, as a fantasy owner he's pretty much always outperformed his draft slot unless hurt.

:lmao:

0:27 HC Mularkey looks like an Alzheimer's patient.

Marshall wisely doesn't give it away to the defense by just lining up as he normally would.

0:35 Big fat lineman is 1st to realize Marshall is uncovered and hauls ### towards him. Almost catches him on the angle.

Brandon Marshall is not fast yet he is putting up monster #s. This was a gift of gifts.
Amazing speed by Casey to almost catch him.

Very few DTs could do that

other than a brief stretch earlier when he was clearly banged up, the dude has been a monster. What an awesome pickup for the Jets. Snagged him pretty late as a wr2/3 on both my teams and he's been well worth it. Great player.

I don't recall an endzone drop.

Fitz made some poor throws in first half and I thought he could have had 5 TDs in that half. He got lucky on a couple should have been INTs too

He caught it at about the 4 and likely could have scored but was thinking about running before he secured it or at least that's how it looked to me.

Missing the playoffs couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Turd was still talking about the Bears this week. Complete loser.

He'll sign somewhere but not for a lot of money.

Wonder if Seattle will be interested. KC? Tennessee might be.

Great first year.  Clearly gave up last year once Fitz got benched. (Seriously, he barely tried)His huge drop that basically lost the Cincinnati game week 1 set the negative tone for the whole year.

He's nothing but a pain in the butt for teams.  He can offer one solid year and then just ruins everything with his ego and personality.  He's not a guy you want to build a team with.  Could be perfect for a team that needs to win right now though.

He's a quitter. When things go bad, he doesn't stand tall. He gives up and starts pointing fingers. Bum, as I've been saying for years.

can't disagree. in 2015, the dude ran incredibly crisp routes, fought hard for balls, dug for extra yards. Last year, he was totally going through the motions. It was obvious early and embarrassing once things started going down hill.

Boy, you really hate this guy, huh?

Like I said at seasons' end, look for BALT, PHILLY or WASH to sign him. He won't play far from NFL offices in NY unless he can't latch on with one of them. Quite happy he is out of that cesspool.

This guy can't win for losing with some people.

He foolishly gets hammered by some people for not making the playoffs. I've said this in another thread about him but is someone like Joe Thomas a worse OL because he's not made the playoffs?

Jets wanted him back, wanted to extend his deal but he wanted out because he wants to play for a contender. Thus the can't win for losing part of this. He stays in NY and does not make the playoffs everyone will talk about the bum who never could make the playoffs. He gets his release granted to me so he can play for a contender and people are still calling him a quitter or a bum.

I don't think he's looking to break the bank on pay, could be a great low cost option for some teams but if I'm running a team that is interested in him he don't get signed unless he agrees to give up this Inside the NFL gig. Not interested at any cost otherwise, I want and need his full commitment.

He only goes nuts when the team starts falling apart around him. His technique is obviously not good. It's TO like. Dez Bryant does the same thing and felt that rath in 2015 but then 2016 came around and it was all forgotten during the winning season yet he still would go nuts on the sidelines here and there. Marshall's problem is that every team he has been on has been mediocre yet he has made the pro bowl 6 times and puts up big number just about every year. Every team he leaves is worse the year after he's gone.

I wouldn't say hate. I've just seen his type plenty in sports and life. Not the kind of guys you want next to you when times get tough.

You must not have been paying attention to him over the last 10 years.

But better over the long term.

You mean those last 10 years he put up the second most receiving yards in the league?

I don't get your Marshall hate but I told you in another thread it's strong. You and Marshall go together like Soulfly and Josh Gordon, only kind of opposite. Either way while you are welcome to your hate, I think it's clouding your objectivity.

Can't argue that. If he keeps playing for as long as he says he wants to, he will be on the top 5 of WRs alltime and will sit like Owens outside the HOF for the same reason. His talent is undeniable though for a guy who is not fast.

But better over the long term.
Not CHI so far and it's been way too long in MIA to even say him being gone is why they made the playoffs. Same with DEN. Jets won't be good until they actually get an NFL QB and rebuild.

Awesome receiver. Never denied that. One of the best.
