Breaking Bad on AMC (1 Viewer)

It's amazing that they still want to cook meth even though they all have #### you money. True dedication to their craft.
Actually, it's so amazing that I had trouble buying it, honestly. If there was a single flaw in that amazing amazing episode (and like everyone else here, don't think I've seen a better hour on television) it was the behavior of the Nazis. They should have killed Walt. Then they should have taken the barrels and disappeared.
I hate to be that guy but since you are bringing up flaws- I was amazed with the nice tires the Indian had on that old truck. I know a few guys with trucks like that and all those tires are dry rotted and it is a miracle they get anywhere, let alone peeling out and pushing cars out of the way.
Lol, I told my wife, "great bones on that truck apparently."
Buy me dinner first, you scumbag. :hot:

Saw a few people post about how this episode made up for the earlier ones this year which werent that good. I am flabbergasted at that sentiment, I honestly believe every episode of the latter part of this season has been an absolute homerun. Each episode was building towards the next week's episode and never felt tacky or TV'ish. This show is so much better than every other show I have ever seen, I am / not sure how I will cope without this on Sunday nights.

BTW, Rian Johnson the director of Looper directed this episode.

Gillian:

VG: I tell ya, this next episode (entitled Ozymandias), I think for my money, is the best episode we ever had had or ever will have. It was written by Moira Walley-Beckett and directed by Rian Johnson.

I think people are going to have trouble breathing after this thing airs. Its tremendous and its a great, great hour of television and Im as proud as I can be of the two episodes that air after that one and both of them are a hell of a wild ride, too. I couldnt be more proud of these final eight episodes or these last three episodes. I think theyre going to leave us with some sleepless nights.

Can't argue with this at all. Every time you think Walt has a shred of humanity left to make him redeemable, he moves further and further away. That shred pretty much died with Hank and what little he had left ended up in the front seat of a fire truck. Taunting Jesse as he condemned him, taking Holly, #####ing out Skylar*... What an episode.

* it didn't seem like it, but we can't take anything for granted on this show, but there's a slight possibility that his monologue to Skylar where he seemingly lost control of his ego, could've been a small effort to help clear Skylar by claiming to do it alone. Still, he's gone. Nothing can redeem him now.

Yeah, that was the only thing that felt out of place. I mean if you just stumble upon 69 million dollars, do you really keep cooking meth? Seems like way too risky when you are pretty well set up.

A slight possibility? I'd say more like a 100% possibility.

:goodposting: I would file this one under "duh". Sorry Shuke.

I would quit, but I'm not an organized criminal operation. What else are the Nazis going to do? They don't really have any hobbies. And they see the promise of more money in the future.

maybe the nazis are FBG's 69M wont last too long

I don't want to let recency cloud my judgement, but breaking bad may very well have surpassed the wire and thrones for me tonight. These last two episodes aren't going to be ####ups like sopranos or how season 5 of the wire was odd.

So now that Jesse gave up the location of his confession tape, how many more innocent people are going to die? Marie? Skylar? Walt Jr? The baby?

Damn, I forgot to watch Low Winter Sun AGAIN...
I will never watch a new TV show again. From now on, if it's considered really good, I'll wait until the first season is available on Netflix or Amazon Prime or HBO Go. Then I'll watch the first season all the way through and if it's awesome, like Breaking Bad, I may watch it on a weekly basis. Or I might wait until the next entire season is concluded before watching it.

I forgot to watch it on purpose.

I totally forgot about the opening scene until I read Sepinwall's review.

I decided to wait to start until I could be sure I could zip through all the commercials. I can't imagine what kind of basketcase I would have been had I had to wait through Low Winter Sun commercials.

I don't know if it's really fair to call this the best episode of the series because so much happened. But screw it, this was the best hour of the series. 20 minutes after finishing, and I still can't breathe right.

Hank and Gomey dying knocked me down to knee. The Walt/Skyler fight took out the other knee. And then, Walt taking Holly and the phone call of death after...I'm done for. Good grief.
This sums up my night nicely. Except with a lot more crying.

Dean Norris wearing the "Schraderbrau" T-shirt. Damn I want one of those.
$22.50
Thanks! I might just have to order that.
My wife just bought these two shirts:

http://www.redbubble.com/people/sacana/works/8130141-walter-white-large

http://www.redbubble.com/people/kosmonaut/works/8178570-los-pollos-hermanos

She wore the Pollos Hermanos shirt out to the grocery store today and got so many random comments from fellow Breaking Bad fans. I like the subtle shirts that only true Breaking Bad fans would understand.

:opensarms:

Let's hug it out. Come on. There...there...

Easy to overlook this point given all the madness. Jesse's confession puts everyone in danger and could well be what leads to Walt returning.

There's that whole thing about how jazz is all about the notes you don't play, which this episode of BB did particularly well: Gomerz dying, Hank getting clipped. Jesse getting the #### kicked out of him. Walt arranging his escape via Saul. Walt leaving Holly in the fire-truck, possibly the last time he ever sees his daughter again.

Redbubble makes good stuff. I already own a Los Pollos Hermanos shirt from them (I got it in blue). Also have a Winterfell/Heineken in white and an Iron Throne Tour from them in black. I recommend them.

That may be due to the kids lust for Lydia. Keep her happy by turning out the meth.

Weak coward rat.

Love Aaron Paul though.
I bet Jesse gave confessed fairly early and Todd continued to torture him for fun

More than slight, less than 100. Walt doesn't know if he's Heisenberg or Walt anymore. Anything that's so obviously set up seems to be wrong in this show. That's why I'm skeptical. Additionally, I doubt it would help much.

:lmao:

I'm going to go with 100%.

LOL @ "slight possibility."
Anything that obvious is probably wrong on this show.
Jesus Christ, the scene is not remotely ambiguous.

Walt is making the freaking call from the sight of a safe haven. He's already decided to give Holly up. He's specifically lying about the extent of Skyler's involvement (which is foreshadowed by the fact that the freaking episode OPENS with him lying to Skyler, which is meant as a piece of thematic foreshadowing). He's crying while making the call. And you can see the visible relief in Skyler's face when she realizes what he's doing.

It is defensible to argue that Walt is using some real deep-seated resentment of Skyler while making the call, but there is no question that he is trying to exonerate Skyler. Walt may be dying. Returning Holly would do no good if her mother is going to be locked up.

Yea Walt's phone call was to clear Skyler as much as he could - he loves his children and he knows that Skyler is a good mom and will take care of them.

Plus he confirmed the Hank kill which allows for Marie to have closure. She was still sitting around waiting for him to call before that.
