Breaking Bad on AMC (1 Viewer)

What if he left exactly one packet of Stevia at each vacant table, each with a trace of ricin in it.

She's gotta be the only kook who uses that stuff anyway. :moneybag:

And what was the point of him pretending to be a reporter for the Times? No need for that at all...storywise, he already knew where Gretchen (hottie) and Elliot lived. What's the reason for that call?
Could they have moved since he and Skyler went to Elliott's birthday party back in season whatever?

Because he said to the person on the other end of the phone, "Do they still live at [presumably their last correct address]?"

Then it either gets confirmed, or the person provides the new address, thinking 'What the hell.... he knew their old address.'

It was a different house from when they went for Elliot's birthday

Nothing really, I suppose... other than to again demonstrate how resourceful Walt is.

I'd guess the original location was unavailable for filming. Maybe the owners wanted too much money knowing it was Breaking Bad. So the writers threw in a quick line about them moving to placate the obsessive nitpickers.

One ridiculous leap of faith each of the past two weeks:

- Last week, Walt conveniently sees Gretchen and Elliott on TV talking about him.

- This week, Jack feels compelled to produce Jesse from the dungeon to prove some point before killing Walt.

I'll allow it, but I don't feel good about it.

Thanks for the memories.
-- meh, he could have just as easily seen it in the paper, this just gives better exposition

-- why not? He's not afraid of some frail cancer guy, and if any of his henchman relay the tale he wants to make sure his rep stays true and there is no doubt amongst his crew

They moved. He did not know where they lived. Even commented to Gretchen that he liked their new house.

Jack had nothing to fear from Walt and didn't want his honor questioned by the guy he was about to kill.

It's too bad Todd died because he would have eventually made a tremendous drug lord.

It wasn't completely necessary for them to have moved but it is realistic since they would have wanted to make a change after having a history with the country's most notorious drug dealer.

Great ending to a great show. I'm sure the nerds in here are going bananas over some stuff, HAN SHOT FIRST, who cares, such a piece of art.

I'd like to thank them for making one awesome and entertaining television show.

And yeah, I got the distraction calls which I'm sure was Badger and Pete. But the odds on them pulling guys off the ex-wife? Zilch.

I'm the farthest thing from a nitpicker...I thoroughly enjoy sitting back and being taken along for the ride and being told a great story. But there were supercool scenes that I couldn't even appreciate because I was pissed about the last scene.

To build tension.

Agree that it was a great episode. I was really hoping for a "Six Feet Under" esque credits...just so you can where everyone ended up.

Re: Cops nabbing Jessie on the way in...Nobody knows Jessie was involved. Everyone who knew Jessie was involved is dead. I assume the nazis destroyed the DVD. He's home free.

ETA: NM, I'm an idiot
Marie knows

Marie knows he was involved. Skyler too. And Huell. I think he was mentioned as presumed on the run (or dead) in the news articles posted from the last episode.
oof :bag:

nothing to see here....move on
They would need to prove it and wouldn't be able to. No worries about Jesse.

a new house is showing us how successful Walt could have been if he stayed with the Greymatter company. Thats the leverage he used against them to help ensure theyd give the 8 mil to his son. That and the hitmen.. It was a new house because Walt's first words when Gretchen saw him was i like the new house

Maybe to pump up Eliott's success by showing an even larger, more lavish house. And to show how close Walt was from a totally different life. I took it as a series of decisions in Walt's life lead him there, but he could have been there under a much different scenario had he chose differently.

AMC is so shameless.

"Thanks for watching Breaking Bad, now buy this really expensive car you can't afford."\
WTF?
This joint AMC/Mercedes-Benz ad where they "thank" Breaking Bad and then proceed to show off this really snazzy vehicle.
What???
I could afford that car
Perhaps this is where I do need the advertising/marketing class that eurotrashman has commanded me to take: How many people are going to run into a Mercedes-Benz dealer and say "I saw this car at the end of Breaking Bad, I NEED IT NOW."
You can't be serious.

i was surprised to hear the price tag on it though

It was also a new house when Walt talked to the publicist and found out they were at a new address, before he ever spoke to either of them. They could've moved the entire house to the new address, but that's unlikely. The company is known to be a multi-billion dollar company. Walt already knows how successful he'd have been. He's even told us that directly last season. They all three knew that the couple were lying about his involvement in the company. That's the leverage he used, not their success. That and the hit men.

With all of the off season speculation about Walt wearing a wire in last season's premiere, and all the other fan obsessionery, I have to think VG purposely had a Nazi die in a massage chair so it'd look like he was still breathing and some weirdos will run with it.
seemed ike a subtle callback to Tuco's death with Jesse's car doing something similar

I never expected Gilligan to make it all work out for Walt. Sure he goes down as a horrible person but in the long run Walt Jr. will appreciate what he did for him and presumably he and his sister will be taken care of forever.
Walt Jr will never appreciate him. Are you kidding?

and it's like Gus said, a man takes care of his family, even if he's not appreciated...it's just what he does

Nope. It will take a long time but 10-20 years down the road when he has his own family he'll appreciate and understand why he did it.

So he'll gloss over that Uncle Hank dying and his entire life and family ruined huh?

No, he'll probably never be able to forgive Walt completely for causing Hank's death but he'll understand the reasons why he did it.

I disagree that his life and family is completely ruined - it would have been a mess had Walt simply died and left him nothing. Skyler will make up with her sister and Jr. will be able to make a great life for himself, his sister and his mom.

Oh. So having his mom face federal prosecution, his uncle murdered, and his father forever known as a violent notorious criminal who died inside a nazi meth lab isn't having your life ruined.

All cool with Flynn because he'll know why his old man did it. :loco:

It's okay. Walt's real his son Jesse appreciated him. Just like Walt's the only one who appreciated Jesse's woodworking shine box.

My guess is that Elliott was on the phone with the police five minutes after Walt left. The Schwartzes aren't the money-laundering type.

In a strange way Mr. White was the best thing to ever happen to Jesse. Had he got involved with him he likely would have been a loser his entire life. Despite what he went through with Walt it changed him for the better.

I'm with Premier on this one. I don't see anything in Flynn's character that indicates anything other than him hating/resenting Walt for the rest of his life.

They aren't the looking over their shoulder type either. NFW do they call the cops when all they have to do is fund an account for Jr. with their pocket money. Regarding the cash, I think they burn it right there in their fireplace as soon as they find out Walt is dead.

Time has a way of healing a lot of stuff. Who he is now isn't who he'll be when he's 40.

Yeah no I don't think so. The guilt he is going to shoulder the rest of his life is going to be crippling. I would think he'll go right back to drugs to numb it.

Here are my nits

-- not related the piece of art put before us - I thought Gilligan may have given too much away in indicating that Walt is somehow successful

-- The last call with Lydia felt shoe-horned in and was probably put there to placate the idiots that didn't get that Walt had ricin'd here in the earlier scene. It made sense in the narrative, though

Wish list (not a nit, but things I was rooting for)

-- Walt to tell Jesse that Jesse was a good cook and had capabilities in a subtle way

-- Walt dying in jail instead of a meth lab...may have been days or weeks later, but a painful death from cancer-- might have escaped the "too neat" some people are saying

Definite candidate for best finale of all time. 6FU and The Shield are in that conversation, but MASH is not IMO.

I will say that this one was better than the Sheiled, mainly because this is a better show. Each shows ending fit in perfectly with their own universe, but Br Ba is a better show and was able to do more with the characters.

What was Jesse's future without Walt - petty drug dealing meth head? There a solid chance he ends up just like Spooge.

They lied on TV about Walt's contributions to the company. They are running an empire. They owe him. I don't think doing this for him is beneath them at all. If they are willing to shamelessly lie in order to protect themselves from a drop in share price, they will do a favor for an old friend in order to stay alive

The box scene was an indication that he's over that life. His time with the Nazis was also probably the longest he'd ever been off drugs since started using them and he had a lot of time to deal with his guilt.
