Breaking Bad on AMC (6 Viewers)

I hope Season 5 brings a little more light on the Gretchen-Elliot-Walt dynamic. Did Walt leave Gretchen for Skylar? Was it his pride refusing to marry a rich girl that would just add to her millions? Did Elliot really screw Walt? Can they be his last two targets for revenge before he dies?
They haven't explained everything but what's been implied is that Gretchen hooked up with Elliot while he was getting successful with the business and Walt moved out of the way.If Walt left Gretchen for Skylar I don't think Gretchen would have asked "is this about me?" when he refused to take the money.
But why was walt cut out of the business?
Don't you get the impression he took himself out? - Season 1 he's a sad sack loser who blew his opportunities in life - His whole attitude toward the business is solemn, not angry- Why would he even go to Elliot's party if he was cut out of the business?- Elliot didn't apologize to him at the party for cutting him out- After college he had a young kid (Walt Jr) with CP and probably didn't want to dedicate his life to a startup (not sure of the timing of the business success)
Youre right. Why take himself out though is the better question i guess. Im only 4 episodes into season 4 though.
I've seen al the seasons live, so I'm a bit rusty on some back stories, but I think a high reason here is a love triangle. Also, Walt feels he should get all the credit(nothing new here) and for whatever reason the other two don't give him any.
I thought it was an ego thing with Walt?....I thought that was the first time we really saw Walt has having a high opinion and almost Alpha maleness to himself.
Yeah. Combo of the two for me. The ego thing is what I was referencing by saying he wanted all the credit.

Why do people keep saying "Uncle Tio"? Tio mean uncle in spanish. The character's name is Hector Salamanca, not Uncle Uncle.

Tanner?I'd also like to find out who this Hermano character is.
There's two dudes from the Pollos family that are both named Herman and they started a fast food chicken restaurant.

It's all good man.... mmmm, no, it's not. I'm disappointed to hear he sticks around... I'm glad he's got a good gig though. I'm sure Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job! doesn't pay too well.
THAT'S what you associate him with? :wall:

No, I most associate him with David Cross and Mr. Show... sketch comedy stuff. Not gritty television dramas. Season 3 has been great so far but I still feel Goodman was miscast w/ Odenkirk.

I think your previous knowledge of the guy is tainting your opinion. I've never seen (or at least noticed) him in anything else, and I can't think of a better person for that part.

Since I know Bryan Cranston from a crappy family sitcom, I'm sure he is miscast as well.
And Aaron Paul is totally out of his element since I remember him from a Korn video.
Walt Jr. was created to be an extraneous, annoying character. That role was PERFECTLY cast.
This still kills me...
I think it would have been more dramatic if Gus died after Flynn bored him to death.
"G'UUUUUU'SSSSSSSSSS..... LIKE, how much Chicken do you actually sell??"
:lmao:

AMC just showed a huge spoiler during a commercial for Breaking Bad.

They showed Gus, with half a face, straightening his tie before keeling over. "The king is dead." Then gut to Walt: "Long live the king."
That's horrible for people who haven't seen season four yet. And you have to figure a lot of people tuning into AMC right now haven't, since they're currently showing season two.

I have no sympathy for people who didn't get in on the ground floor of a good show.If you're late to the party and you catch a spoiler along the way, tough luck. And it's happened to me many times, BTW.

Can someone in here do me a favor. If AMC ever decides to show reruns starting from the beginning, please let me know via PM or start a new thread. I don't want to have to keep coming in here to check and have the entire series spoiled. TIA.
Absolutely not.
Thanks for the heads up, guys  I check on a whim today and it looks like they're airing all 4 series in a matter of weeks soon.

They started on June 11. They're on season two right now. Season three starts June 19.

Starting again on June 28, showing about about 3 episodes a night until season 5 premier on July 15.

Kind of. On the second go-around, it looks like they're showing season one, a couple episodes of season two, and season four. Link.

If you start DVRing now, you still may be able to get almost all the episodes. Everything but season 2, episode 3 and season 2, episode 4. But they'll be out of order.

I forgot about this little kid in the crack house. :(
Watching now and wondered something about when the show is on live. They just finished the scene with Walt and Gretchen in the restaurant and Walt's "#### you" gets censored out. Do they do that regularly? I watched all the episodes off torrents with all the language and stuff left in. That'll bother me if I'm watching live and they block stuff.

Yeah, just saw that. It's been so long since season 2 was on live but I can't imagine AMC would let an F-bomb fly.

Maybe I was watching the DVDs, I don't remember...but I thought I was watching on TV when I was watching episode 1 and they showed the chick's cans in the window when Jesse was sneaking out of the house that Hank was busting. But yeah I'm gonna HAVE to watch them live but that's gonna be tough. Oh well, minor flaw.

Only spoiler I ever experienced was the Long Live The King poster for season 5 which AMC had on Facebook. Seeing that during season 4 viewing, you know he's going to get Gus

By the way Walt's facial expressions in that last scene where he's telling Skylar that Gretchen and Elliott are broke...gold. He looks so proud of himself for coming up with such a good story on the fly, you can see him alternating between pride/smugness over that but also trying to look defeated and dejected (because after all, as far as Sky knows, the money for treatment has now dried up).

One of the many scenes littered throughout the series that you don't look back on as particularly huge or explosive, but is every bit as awesome.

Cranston is just superb. Complimenting him gets old, but he's incredible.

AMC already showed season 4. Why would they be concerned about a spoiler?

I agree that he's perfect in the role, but he can't be wrong if it's his opinion. It's just not a very common opinion

AMC already showed season 4. Why would they be concerned about a spoiler? They are showing seasons 1-4 again right now, presumably under the theory that not everybody watching has already seen them.

So those of us savy enough to have watched originally should get empty commercials as not to spoil it for the latecomers and front runners?

;)
