Breaking Bad on AMC (3 Viewers)

You guys are complaining about the Breaking Bad aftershow? If you dont like it, dont watch it. I dont understand why people would be bothered by such a show airing, I would love such a show with Cranston and Gilligan after the episodes going through the process of filming that episode.
I don't get it either. Same with the Talking Dead....you're getting more of the show, in some capacity, how is that bad?

Just started rewatching the first half of the season for a refresher.
I was going to do the same thing. I honestly cannot remember if Skyler currently hates Walt or not.
I'd say she's "resolved" to the situation. By the time they are having a cookout with Hank she seems contented by the fact that he is no longer "involved" and presumably no longer a danger to her and the kids. Keep in mind that there is some passage of time between the arians in the jailhouse and the BBQ.

Wikipedia shows that Cranston directs the next episode. He last directed 3.1 (No Mas).

Way too long of a break between halves. Was it because of Cranston's movie schedule or were they just trying to drag it out? I can't even remember if Walt Jr was eating pancakes or waffles last time we saw him.

Fascinating stuff. Thanks for keeping us posted
A few small details I'd forgotten. Where did Jesse think the ricin cigarette had gone?, for example. But other things pop up... like at the end of episode 2, "Madrigal", when Hank is listening to his boss about getting fired for the Fring fiasco, and the boss says "he was right under my nose the whole time, and I didn't see it", yeah, I 'got it' the first time I'd seen that scene, but this time, I notice Hank's expression is exactly the same as when he's taking a dump.

More of dragging it out, I guess. As far as I can remember, by doing 16 episodes, they paid everybody the same thing for all the episodes, because it's considered 1 season technically within the industry, rather than having to give raises between seasons if they made it 2. But AMC still wanted to have 2 years' worth of programming, advertising, etc. Something like that. But I'm also kind of drunk right now, so could just be talking out of my ###.

According to exhaustive research (looking it up on Wikipedia), the story is such

In July 2011, series creator Vince Gilligan indicated that he intended to conclude Breaking Bad with the fifth season.[34] In early August 2011, negotiations began over a deal regarding the fifth and possibly final season between the network AMC and Sony Pictures Television, the production company of the series. AMC proposed a shortened fifth season (six to eight episodes, instead of 13) to cut costs, but the producers declined. Sony then approached other cable networks about possibly picking up the show if a deal could not be made.[35] On August 14, 2011, a deal was made where AMC renewed the series for a final 16 episodes.

Bruce's family doing some hard time?

Will probably watch S5 episodes again before August. At least the last couple of them. My memory sucks.

I'd say my favorite scene is the last 10 mins of S4. Gus and Hector at the nursing home followed by the closing shot showing the Lilly of the Valley. ####### awesome. That is as much of a reveal of Walt's character than the Tuco explosion scene.

Also love Tuco and Hector with the ricin burrito. So much tension. "why don't you like them Teo?"

You may not remember, but late last summer you went to a popular restaurant in Culver City (the one with the outside seating that’s first-come, first-serve). You pleasantly asked if you could sit at our table since there were no other seats left, and we happily obliged. After glancing at you about five times, I realized who you were. Having just completed a marathon of Breaking Bad’s entire run, I awkwardly asked if I could shake your hand, and you did!

Then my husband told you that he’s been trying to get his big brother (also sitting with us) to watch your show for months, and that he still hadn’t.

Then you said, in a menacing, methodical voice (aka Heisenberg), “Your brother’s a p###y.”

We were giddy for the next week straight. Actually, we’ve been giddy ever since and have renamed the restaurant The Bryan Cranston Experience. Aside from our wedding, I believe it stands as the greatest moment of our married life. To this day, we tell the story to anyone who will hear it. We should probably stop.

So no question, just wanted you to know how much you rock!

Did your brother finally start watching the show or does he still have a v####a?

Edit: not that having a ###### is a bad thing. It just needs to be with the appropriate person.

 Loved that part.

So if a friend is catching up, on the show, and does not have DVR, Netflix etc. How would he see the first half of this season? What are his alternatives?

On Comcast / XFinity, Season 5 episodes are still free on ONDemand.

If that's not an option, there's always Itunes or Amazon Video On Demand if your friend isn't a cheap *******.

I bet AMC will be re-airing these leading up to the new one's...maybe even a full series marathon.
They are. Late night on Saturdays. It starts this Saturday. 4 episodes a night starting at midnight.

So the answer to the original question - pull late nights watching AMC every Saturday night until 8/11.

Anyone else starting to worry that the final episode will reveal that the entire series is a dream of Walt's? Or an "alternate history" of what would have happened had he not misfired the gun in his suicide attempt from the first episode?

I am now. Thanks.

Vince Gilligan said in an interview it won't be "just a dream". He hates that technique. If I remember correctly he said it would be very much real, so your other worry wouldn't happen either.

This concept is beaten to ####

zero chance.

I think Jesse definitely dies due to Walt one way or another.

Now, who he's getting that machine gun for, I have no clue. He's was in hiding and the cancer is back though.

Do you think, given the proper equipment, you could produce crystal meth?

That presumes I haven't already.

Twist: they were using the set of Breaking Bad to make meth all along. Vince is Heisenberg. Walter/Bryan is just a smoke screen
I think my favorite comment from this was when someone asked whether the whole show was an elaborate ruse by Walt to teach Jessie chemistry

Actually, for no reason, I am optimistic that Jesse will live and Walt will not.
I have thought for a long time that Gilligan still has plenty of latitude to determine the entire tone of the entire show. He can kill/capture Walt and let Jesse live, ultimately letting well intentioned naïveté and hope when out while evil is punished. He can make the show a dark thing by letting Walt live and killing Jesse, which would be artistically

Lu satisfying Or he can kill them both. Any of those three results makes the entire show/story on review look a lot different.
