BROWNS THREAD 2009 4 GAME WIN STREAK! (2 Viewers)

I would argue 2009 is Harrison's to lose. And 2010 is open. Advantage to whomever closes 2009 on a upnote. I am leaning toward Davis. The positives have been there. On college. And the preseason. The right growth and I think he can perform as good as that browns' team will let him.
I have yet to see anything on the game field that makes me think Jerome Harrison can't be a 15 - 20 touch per game running back. A lot of people say he's too small to be an every down back. Look at the below comparison and see if that makes sense to you. Keep in mind, this comparison has nothing to do with talent, only size.Jerome Harrison: 5' 9" 205 poundsEmmitt Smith: 5' 9" 210 poundsBarry Sanders: 5' 8" 200 pounds

 Without even seeing that comparison, I'd say he looks bigger than what people give him credit for....sorta like you say.

Wow, lots of negativity on Anderson. Personally, I'm glad he's getting another shot. At least we'll get in the end zone. I would not be at all surprised if they pull out a win this week.

In his last 16 games, he has completed 239 or 464 (51.5%) 2736 yards with 16 TDs and 19 INTs. In those games he has passed for more than 250 yards - 3 times, and one of those was 251 yards.

i would be shocked if the Browns won this game.i would also be suprised if the Bengals don't return an interception for a TD in this game.

Well, to be fair, I believe 3 of those games were the Blizzard, The Swamp, and The Wind Bowl.DA gives us a legitimate chance to win some games. I don't know what BQ's problem is, but he gives us next to no chance to win a game this year.

**Disclaimer** I am a rampant DA apologist.

I don't know why but I bet the Browns on the money line today. I just have a feeling that somehow they pull out a win.

DA played extremely well today, and Massaquoi was lights out. Tough loss, but I'm encouraged.
DA had a QB rating of 68.8. I know it looks a lot better than a regressing Brady Quinn, but he still was not good by NFL standards.

What is it when you add the 4-5 dropped passes? (No shtick, I'm seriously asking)
Since there is a yardage component, I have no idea. You'd have to watch the game film and add up all the yardage lost from the dropped passes you'd want to count.

didn't get to see much of the game.

DA looked good the bits i saw, but he always has streaks of looking good.

glad Massaquoi was able to show something today.

Edwards is clearly a head case. they need to move him, it will benefit everybody involved.

glad they didn't get crushed. hopefully they can build off of the positives from today.

sad though that we get excited by a close loss.

wow - you know Mangini has decimated your team when your fans are taking positives from an 0-4 start after blowing a home game practically handed to them by the Bungles. I actually like the Browns - this will be a painful season to watch.

Watching the game now, because I was out earlier. DA not looking good so far. I just watched him float one into the arms of Michael Johnson. It wasn't caught, but the pass was just terrible. It reminded me why I didn't want his as the Browns QB. He's 3 of 11 right now, and I wish they would have traded him after the 2007 season.

He is who I thought he was.
 Now we'll probably be just good enough to not get a marquee QB in the draft. The play calling was MUCH better on both sides of the ball. I wonder if Quinn would have looked that bad had the coaching staff opened up the play book a bit more like they did with DA. Really goes to show they didn't believe in him even after naming him the starter.Amazing how good Cribbs performs when you utilize him properly, isn't it?I thought Harrison was AWFUL in the 1st half, but he played very well thereafter. He's not the long term answer, but as a stop gap while there are no other RB's on the roster? Sure, what the hell.Outside of Massaquoi the WR and TE play was lousy.I hate everything about Braylon Edwards. I'll have more reasons once defenses start to key in on Massaquoi and Braylon doesn't take advantage.Furrey needs to be a full time DB. Part because our secondary is not good, but mainly because he is an awful WR. Get Robiskie in the slot, now.Our short yardage running game is atrocious.Nice to see Brandon McDonald out of the starting lineup, even if it meant more Mike Adams. I think rotating two bad players is better than just playing one of them.Other things that haven't changed - the right side of the o line sucks, as do the Jets cast offs, the pass rush, and Kam Wimbley.Anything I missed?

After Buffalo, I don't see much in the win column for a long time. Buffalo is 50/50 imo.Quinn got the shaft. I'm convinced of it now after watching the game and after listening to Mangini talk about DA after the game. If I didn't know it already, I woulda thought we won.Wonder how often Quinn was actually on the field with Massaquoi at the same time?Wonder how Quinn can perform with a running game?Wonder how Quinn would have performed against easily the worst team we've played so far? I'm not slamming the Bengals here, it's just the truth. The Bengals are a decent middle of the road team, just not Minn/Bal/Den. And I didn't believe one bit in Denver until yesterday, and I'm still skeptical.
Anything I missed?
Corey Williams showed up.Mangini blows that last time out in regulation. He's also funny when they put the camera on him. Like he's trying not to smile or get excited, but at times can't help himself. Looks pretty lame. Not sure how to describe it.

I'd pay to see Lebron vs Braylon brawl.

Cleveland man accuses Browns Braylon Edwards of assault

By Mark Puente, The Plain Dealer

October 05, 2009, 11:33AM

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A-28-year-old Cleveland man accused Browns receiver Braylon Edwards of assaulting him early this morning at the View Ultralounge & Nightclub.

Edward Givens said the incident took place outside of The View Night Club on 618 Prospect at about 2:30 a.m. Givens said he went to Lutheran Hospital this morning because he suffered a black eye and a cut. He said he also has a headache.

The suspect's name on the police report is redacted. But multiple sources and the victim say the suspect is Edwards.

A police report gives these details:

Givens was talking to the suspect outside the club when the suspect started an argument. The suspect then punched Givens with a closed first on the left side of his face. Givens told officers he would seek treatment at Lutheran Hospital.

Givens is a promoter with Eighty81 LLC, an events management and marketing firm that hosts parties on Sundays at The View Night Club.

In an interview with Cleveland.com's Starting Blocks blog this morning, Givens said:

"After the club closed, I was outside greeting and saying goodbye to people. Braylon comes up and started saying things, degrading me. He said if it wasn't for LeBron or the Four Horsemen, I wouldn't have what I have, nor would I be able to get girls. Everyone knows Braylon has a problem with LeBron. So I had to speak up for myself. The conversation started to escalate. As some of his teammates started to pull him back, he punched me. I have a black eye and a cut. I'm not a violent guy.

"As long as I've known Braylon, I've allowed him and his friends to come into our events free of charge. Whatever jealousy he has with LeBron, he felt he needed to take it out on me."

Police officers then broke up another disturbance involving the suspect.

Simple assault case are not investigated by police. It is up to the victims to file complaints with the city prosecutor.

Lol, Mangini decimated the team. Its the same team as last year - Kellen Winslow + draft picks.

hold on there, they still haven't won a game.
We have to be worse than the Rams to get that marquee QB, that will be difficult if we keep playing like we did on Sunday and the Rams keep playing like they did.Don't confuse this as me suggesting we throw games, I just don't see the point in turning to DA. Seems short sighted.

it was only a matter of time. glad they were able to move it up a bit.

don't let the door hit you on the way out, Braylon.

i thought for sure he would be gone right after they got rid of Winslow.

i know the results haven't been there yet, but i have respect for Mangini trying to weed out all the whiners off of the Browns.

While I don't agree with how Mangini handled the QB derby, ranking right up there with The Coin Flip, I've got to give him (and Kokinis) credit for their house cleaning efforts. If the locker room didn't know who was in charge by now, they should have good idea after today. I'm willing to give Mangini his chance for a few years.Rumors abound that Brady is out the door next. lol

It's amazing what an O/T loss and trading your best offesive weapon will do for you. Mangini went from being run out of town to building respect with the fan base. I guess Browns fans don't have high expectations.

Mangini has completely lost me. He should be fired immediately. Clean house. This is a disaster.

Alot of Browns fans wanted Braylon gone earlier this year. I'm not sure what you're getting at in that regard. All Braylon has done is put the last nail in the coffin since the season started. He wasn't coming back anyways, I can't believe there would even be second guessing over this move.

Just a week ago Mangini looked like he may not make it through the season. I don't know where you stand on that Bobcat, but I don't think I talked to a fan that still publicly supported him. Fast forward a week, with the only changes being another loss and a trade of a former pro bowl WR, and I'm hearing and reading how fans will support him as he puts "his" team together. I'm not really critiquing the trade as much as I find it interesting how overall opinion has changed towards Mangini.

Yeah I see what you are saying. Fans thinking Mangini not making it all year were in dreamland, and there were more than a few of these people. Reality is far from that. Yeah there were a few national reports but those are bogus imo.Like I said, I hate how he handled the QB situation, but the trade of Braylon is good. Either way, it's his team for a few years and we're stuck with him good or bad.Reghi about to go off on Rizzo's Sabrina segment this morning. Should be good radio...

you are correct.but fans are passionate, and the fact that the Browns showed some life against the Bengals, as well as having a scapegoat (not that a lot of it wasn't deserved) does make for a change of heart with the coach.

but stick around. if they go out and lay another egg and look lost, Mangini will be right back in the dog house with the fans.

I guess after the last 10+ seasons our expectations are low.I heard Chris Speilman after the OSU loss to USC on the radio discussing the "at least we weren't embarrassed" fan reaction to the game. He was pretty passionate about how we should expect to win and not be satisfied with a hard fought loss.

Hopefully we can get there one day soon with the Browns.

Unfortunately all I have is the radio and internet, but DA is 0-6 with 0 yards after a quarter and a half. WTH is going on?
