Bryant McKinnie Cut (1 Viewer)

Ministry of Pain

Footballguy
The Minnesota Vikings cut offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

McKinnie reported overweight to camp and the Vikings acquired Charlie Johnson yesterday so McKinnie became expendable.

More sizzle than steak IMO. I'm sure someone will pick him up quickly. How is the Vikes OLine looking?

Well Vikes line can't be worse without him. He was lazy and fat. Good riddance.
When he left Miami I really thought he was going to be a great OL/LT in the NFL, every bit as good as Leon Searcy here at the "U" but he did get lazy and fat. Of course when you weigh 350 lbs you are fat.

The disgusting thing is he had all the tools to be an Orlando Pace, Jonathan Ogden type LT, but he was just too interested in partying and living it up. If he had put in the effort each offseason, he would've been a perennial All Pro. Disappointing, but it is what it is.

maybe if he got up to about 600 they could only play one guy on his side and pull off some truly crazy gaget plays with four TEs or something it would be truly amazing and they would totally dominate but not now that he was cut and will presumably stop eating so much to attain the mythic 6 hondorinos ,

Signed a 2-year deal with the Ravens.

EDIT: He says Lewis and Reed convinced him to come to Baltimore. THE U pipeline strikes again.

Ravens want Bryant McKinnie to get in better shapePosted by Josh Alper on April 2, 2012, 11:39 AM EDTAPThe good news for the Ravens is that tackle Bryant McKinnie hasn’t put on any weight since the end of last season. The less good news is that he hasn’t lost any either. John Harbaugh said last week that the tackle was in the same shape he was at the end of last season, but Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports that the team wants him to be in better shape than he was during the 2011 season so that he can “move better and be a little quicker.” McKinnie finished last year at about 360 pounds after ballooning to nearly 400 pounds before getting cut by the Vikings. There’s not much chance that they are going to find someone else to take the job protecting Joe Flacco’s blind side next season. They’ve already exercised his $500,000 roster bonus for next season and he’s set to make $3.2 million for a Ravens team that doesn’t have much space to do something different right now. They also don’t have a ton of options. Zrebiec mentions the possibility that the Ravens will draft a tackle, but that seems like a plan for a future without McKinnie. Unless they want to roll the dice on Marcus McNeill, the present is going to rely on McKinnie staying on track during the offseason.

It's the perfect thread to put it in, things have not changed

It's tough to stay in shape when he spends all his time in bars and strip clubs. He's still a record producer that plays football. What a waste.
