Build a FRANCHISE draft (1 Viewer)

Raiders makeup picks:

21.19 Barrett Ruud MLB22.14 David Baas OC23.19 Greg Jones FB24.14 Sheldon Brown CB25.19 Matt Prater K

Late225 skipped

25.21 Cincinatti Bengals select Stephen Gostkowski, K

He's money on kickoffs, which is something I expect this team to do a lot ;) . Also he can make a field goal or two I guess. Age is not a concern because 29 for a kicker is like 23 for any other position.

I know everyone has a different strategy but I'm baffled by people jumping on Ks.
You can get backups/scrubs now and get a scrub kicker later or you can get a stud kicker now and get backups/scrubs later.
In any given year there are at the very least 10 guys walking the streets that can do a good job in the NFL. Take Forbath for instance . Now there are a couple of guys with special legs & the head game to go along with it but unlike any other positions the K/P has more good players than position spots available in the NFL.

I disagree. Forbath was one of the top kickers in his draft class, so even though he didn't get a starting gig right away his talent was evident. A lot of the guys on the street are missing the one thing that seperates the elite kickers from the also-rans: confidence. Once it's lost it's really hard to get back.

Well he wasn't drafted & is on his 3rd team. Fairly typical for a kicker

Maybe you're right. Still I'd rather have one and forget about the position then try to wait it out. I just don't see that many players that excite me more than a guy I can count on for points every game.

Pick 25.24 - 49ers select QB Ryan Fitzpatrick

Guy can obviously play, and if Brees goes down at all, he can step right in on this killer offense.

25.27 Bears - Shea McClellin, DE

Like in real life, I'll hope Shea can use his impressive athleticism to get to the qb. I will not be as rigid with him as they are being, and I will consider playing him at OLB a little bit. Maybe like a Von Miller style position, which I think would suit him best.

I have to drive home. Wu-banger you can skip Fubar (if he doesn't pick) and Skeletore at 3:32 EST. I see AA is in the thread so you should be able get through the turn. Assuming neither of those guys pick then it will be 8ebok's turn after that.

Giants select -

25.31 - Knowshon Moreno , RB

Young running back that can fill in as needed , showed improvement last year and just needs to stay healthy.

Fubar had until 3:32 so I'll wait till after that to pick. I don't see Fubar in the thread but for the sake of fairness I'll wait. I don't see him wanting to take the player you took, Wu.

I was texted that I was OTC and made my pick..... if he wanted Moreno he can have him ( over my dead body ) hah

25.32 Saints select Mike Adams, SS

26.1 Saints select C.J. Mosley, DT

Adams finishes out my starting lineup on defense. My offense and defense are set. Adams is a veteran safety who won't provide big plays but he won't make too many mistakes. I can't ask for much more given how late in the draft it is.

Mosley is my BPA. Reyes is more of a penetrating DT and poorer against the run while Mosley is stout against the run and not the best rusher. They should compliment each other well and with Hatcher should provide a solid DT rotation.

Starters:
Offense
QB Aaron Rodgers 1.1
HB Frank Gore 17.32
WR Dwayne Bowe 8.1
WR Pierre Garcon 10.1
WR Reggie Wayne 12.1
TE Travis Kelce 20.1
LT Marcus Gilbert 18.01
LG Kory Lichtensteiger 13.32
C Will Montgomery 9.32
RG Chris Chester 11.32
RT Bryan Bulaga 7.32
DefenseDE Michael Bennett 5.32
DT Jason Hatcher 14.1
DT Kendall Reyes 15.32
DE Dwight Freeney 16.1
SLB Nick Roach 21.32
MLB Bobby Wagner 4.1
WLB James-Michael Johnson 24.1
CB Lardarius Webb 2.32
CB Chris Harris Jr. 6.1
FS Eric Weddle 3.32
SS Mike Adams 25.32

Special Teams
K Blair Walsh 19.32

Bench:
TE Joel Dreessen 23.32
DT C.J. Mosley 26.1
CB Chris Cook 24.1

This may be reaching, but if guys are interested, we could keep these teams documented and have a rookie draft next year. Order would be random or we could elect a panel of ppl to vote on the best and worst teams. I think this would be cool to do year to year and ull def see a turnover in rankings year to year.

Giants select

26.2 - Jayron Hosley , CB

Talented DB who had an up and down rookie year but showed a lot of potential. Should work nicely as a nikleback with Leon Hall and Brent Grimes.

Also, provides a weapon in the return game.

Damn, wanted Mosley. First time being skipped has cost me.

Joshua Cribbs, WR/KR

Need a guy to play the slot for me, and the fact that he has more impact as a returner than any kicker in the NFL has on kickoffs affecting a team's win percentage is just an amusing plus for me.

Also - If I'm going to be skipped ahead of time, I'd like the whole message relayed. TIA.

26.7 Thomas Morstead, P

The way this team is built, we're the 06 Bears. I will not let you score, which means I've got to win the field position battle. With top 3 guys at KR and punter (and kickoffs - Morstead's a top 10 kickoff guy) I'm equipping myself to win that battle.

P.S. because punters actually are different.

26.11 Dallas Selects ZIggy Hood, DE

I love this team; yea I know, I drafted it and all so i'm biased, but still I love it.

Think you are putting too much stock in rookie potential with 4 playing huge roles in your offense ......add that too a QB who has been inconsistent , could be huge busts on offense. Not to mention we don't have a clue of which Mike Wallace will emerge in Miami .Very boom or bust team. And who are we supposed to be afraid of on defense ?

25.12 Cincinatti Bengals select B.W. Webb CB/KR

I wanted to get a guy here who could fill multiple roles for my team. Webb is an elite athlete (absolutely murdered the combine) and I think he'll make a great impact on special teams (CAA Special teams player of the year) and he can compete with McClain for the starting corner spot opposite VD. Whoever loses that battle will be an excellent slot guy.

Offense

1.12 QB Matt Ryan
6.12 RB Arian Foster, 24.12 RB Montee Ball
23.21 FB Henry Hynoski
3.21 WR Michael Crabtree, 18.12 WR Golden Tate, 21.21 WR Robert Woods
11.21 TE Greg Olsen
2.21 LT Ryan Clady, 8.12 LG Andy Levitre, 20.12 C Ryan Lilja, 12.12 RG Zane Beadles, 16.12 RT Terron Armstead

Defense
4.12 DL Corey Liuget, 5.21 DL Carlos Dunlap, 15.21 DT Dan Williams
7.21 DE/OLB Dion Jordan, 9.21 DE/OLB Barkevious Mingo
14.12 LB Arthur Brown, 22.12 LB Brad Jones
10.12 CB Vontae Davis, 19.21 CB Robert McClain, 26.11 CB B.W. Webb
13.21 FS Stevie Brown, 17.21 SS Major Wright

Special Teams
25.21 K Stephen Gostkowski
26.11 PR/KR B.W. Webb

26.14 Raiders select Blaine Gabbert, QB

Despite his struggles on a terrible team, Gabbert will only be 23 to start this season, younger than some rookies. Let's let him hold the clipboard for a year or two and learn behind one of the best QBs of all time and see if he can put that photographic memory to good use.

While healthy he actually outperformed several guys already taken: Rivers, Foles, Vick, Ponder, Fitzpatrick, Sanchez
