Chiefs select Joselio Hanson, CB

Saints select Michael Koenen, P

Chiefs select Jon Condo, LS

Saints select Zak DeOssie, LS/LB

4 need based picks. Joselio Hanson has been a solid corner for years and is coming off a pretty decent season. My other 3 corners are all pretty young so I feel like I can splurge on an experienced veteran for my 4th CB spot. Saints needed a punter and Koenen was the best of the rest. Condo and DeOssie are long snappers who have been to multiple pro bowls each. Meh.

If we are not doing long snappers in the draft, I'll change my picks.

If we are only doing 40 rounds, then I would think that long snappers are not necessary.

Madden doesn't have them, that is for sure.

I was thinking if we were doing 53 rounds, then long snappers would be included and we would completely be simulating a real team. With 40 man rosters I wasn't sure. Any other inputs on if we take a long snapper?

Don't worry about long snappers. Nobody is going to change their team rating based on one, and in Madden the best long-snappers are just the best OLinemen.

38: Cincinnati Bengals select Matt Summers-Gavin, G

39: Cincinnati Bengals select Mike Neal, DE

Summers-Gavin is being compared to Marshall Yanda, which is pretty high praise IMO. He should do fine in a backup role and can compete with Holmes at center if Lilja retires. Neal was pretty solid for GB in a reserve role at 3-4 end last season (5 sacks). He's only 26 so lots of potential there. He can rotate in, maybe getting substantial PT if Dunlap doesn't work out playing 5-technique.

38: Oakland Raiders select Kevin Vickerson, DT

39: Oakland Raiders select Kevin Reddick, ILB

Just a couple of bodies and competition on defense.

38 Cleveland Browns select Brian Schwenke, C

39 Cleveland Browns select Wallace Gilberry, DE

Schwenke can be the primary backup for the interior o-line. Gilberry had 7 sacks last year with limited snaps so he'll definitely help generate a pass rush in my rotation.

I checked the SS and i guess Carpenter wasn't taken. Shocking to me as he's one of the better legs in the league. Nice pick Instinctive!

On the other hand Hanson is retired.

Ha ha this is gold. We are actually discussing long snappers
I'm taking this very seriously. :lmao:

In all seriousness though, a team needs a long snapper and a consistent one provides more value to my teams than a third string backup. There may not be a big difference between long snappers but having a dedicated one is pretty important for a real team.

I'm changing one of long snapper picks to:

Chiefs select Stephen Bowen, DT

I'll make the other Saints pick later. I'm really surprised Bowen is available this late. He's been one of my top players on my board for a while and is a solid starter. I've been passing on him though because I have a lot of depth at DL for both teams and he's not a great scheme fit for the Saints but at this point Bowen is the clear top talent remaining on my board. Two inferior lineman on the Redskins (including Bowen's backup) were taken before him so I think Bowen just slipped through the cracks. The Chiefs have a lot of DL talent and Bowen is another weapon to add to the the rotation. Barring injury though, I don't expect Bowen to see more than a handful of snaps per game. I expect Campbell and Dareus to be on the field as much as they can handle. I am hoping Floyd steps up big time for my team but if he doesn't I'd be happy with Langford and Bowen in a rotation.

Round 37 Cardinals select Ryan Otten, TE

Round 38 Cardinals select Leon McFadden, CB

Will pick for Eagles and Panthers later

Since long snappers aren't being picked...:

Saints select Leon Washington RB, KR

My bench already has a player that can backup each position so I have the luxury of taking a top returner. At the beginning of the season, my RBs will have the following ages: 30, 28 (29 in November), and 31... isn't RB supposed to be a young position?

Carpenter absolutely wan't taken, assuming people know how to actually spell his name.

Hanson retired...but he's a kicker. Kickers are in and out all the time. I can repack here if it makes yall feel better (and since he's probably not in Madden)

Rams Kicker: Josh Scobee

Again - hasn't been picked unless you're an idiot and didn't spell his name right.

Houston 37 Joe Madsen G/C

Houston 38 Kenjon Barner RB/WR

Dallas 37 Braxston Cave G/C

Dallas 38 Malliciah Goodman DE

Cincinnati Bengals select
39: Reid Fragel, OT
40: Jake Stoneburner, TE
Two Ohio State guys who can provide depth at key positions. Fragel looks to be a good zone blocker. Stoneburner has a similar game to Olsen, more receiver than TE, but he's got great size and good potential.

Cleveland Browns select
39: Marcus Thigpen, KR
40: Cobi Hamilton, WR
Thigpen is one of the best returnmen in the league right now. He's elusive in the open field when given opportunities. Hamilton has potential to be a good receiver, and he'll have time to develop here.

Saints select Geno Hayes, OLB

Chiefs select Marcus Cannon, OT

Saints select Joseph Fauria, TE

Chiefs select Niles Paul, TE/WR/KR/ST

The Saints only have one backup LB (who can play all 3 LB positions) so I wanted to get a second backup LB. Hayes has shown his potential in the past and I'm hoping he gains consistency in his play and develops as a player. If not, then he can be a special teams contributor.

The Chiefs could handle an injury anywhere on the OL, but they only have one backup OL so I wanted to get a second. Cannon has the physical tools to be successful and his battle with cancer is inspirational and shows his tenacity.

Fauria worst case is a red zone specialist. However, he has the size and athleticism to develop into an impact player on offense. The Saints don't have any particular areas of need so I am going for upside with this pick.

The Chiefs have spent a higher ratio of picks on defense to offense than I would like. Going into this last turn, my remaining needs included an OL, TE, WR, RB, and KR. Cannon fills the OL need. Paul can play TE, WR, KR, and is a good special teams contributor. Paul's versatility makes him a good last pick for me and fills several needs.

Dolphins select - Tommy Streeter, WR (could be Boldin's replacement for the Ravens, worth a shot to start as a slot guy on my team)Dolphins select - Virgil Green, TE (need another TE, might as well get someone with some potential)Dolphins select - Tony McDaniel, DL (could always use more run stuffers)

Dolphins select - Roy Helu, RB (once healthy, could be used as a C.O.P. back)

I am officially done with this draft. It was a pleasure and honor to partake. Though I would like to take back some of my draft picks, oh well. As I said before, super young team (avg team age 25.3 years old with a lot of upside and could be a contender in a couple years once the team develops chemistry. Could even be a playoff team if I found a franchise QB that I could address in free agency, trade or draft.

Without further adieu here are your 2013 Fantasy Miami Dolphins! =)

Once the teams are finalized, I think we should see if any of the #RSPWP2 participants are interested in judging the teams. I know Bloom is really active on Twitter and frequently interacts with the community.

Chargers select -

RD 39 - Caleb Sturgis, K, Florida

RD 40 - Brian Mooreman, P

taking a rookie kicker might be risky but Sturgis should be a quality weapon for a long time.

I sent a Tweet to both Bloom and Fahey (FBG staff and RSPWP2 participants) just now. Fahey already responded saying he would be interested in judging.

Taking a retired player gives you a ZERO in my opinion.

You could force him to play but I personally would not want an old player who mentally decided to quit the game. I would rather take a young, hungry player in most cases.
