Build a FRANCHISE draft (1 Viewer)

3.22 Dallas selects Luke Joeckle OT

Freeman will need some time to let Calvin work down the field. I'm taking Joeckle here as I think he develops into a prototypical LT in no time.

Sorry for the delay i thought my predraft message get through, apparently not.

Seems about the right time to take the first rookie.

3.23 LB Sean Lee

Need a captain for the defense. Should be able to play inside regardless of what formation I end up running.

Yea, i thought we were doing a sep rookie draft. I like doing one together but we def needed that clarified.
yeah, if only there was a post by the guy running this thing...oh... wait...

We will start tomorrow(you can pick, but no clock)

1 hour clock(we will be flexible for the first round or two)

When you make your first pick, please specify what time zone you are in. Clock will be on from 9am-5pm in your timezone.

Please PM the team after you, I will be monitoring and try and text people when they are up, or coming up. Try and check in at least a couple of times a day.

Rookies are included in this draft and we will do a 3RR.

Remember you are building a franchise, not just for next year, for years to come.

Any other questions/suggestions/ideas before we start this thing?

With 3.24, the 49ers take promising rookie LT Eric Fisher

1.9) Drew Brees, QB

2.24) Trent Richardson, RB

3.24) Eric Fisher, LT

EDIT: Changed as I saw that rookies were available.

EDIT2: Changed Joeckel to Eric Fisher.

Thanks ...... Went back and double checked but didn't see this

31.25 Andre Johnson WR Steelers

I didn't want to go 3 skills to start like its a fantasy draft but the BPA is Johnson at this point. Yes he's 31 but he's too good to pass up. I feel Newton/Harvin/Johnson gives me a chance against devisional foe , the gogo Browns

I was salivating at the possibility of getting Andre Johnson to pair up with Rodgers. Huge value at this point. If I was Andre Johnson, I'd be insulted Cobb was taken before me.

He's old but a very good value here and he's really the last of the elite WRs.

Andre Johnson is a great receiver when healthy but he's old and he's been injury prone in his career. For a big guy he's also surprisingly allergic to the end zone. For a 3rd round pick I'd rather get a young guy and pay for future production rather than past production.

Looked pretty awesome last year. WRs can play a long time if they keep themselves in good shape which Johnson does. Not too many wrs capable of completely taking over a game the way he did in that Jax game.

He still only caught 4 TDs, and 1 in the JAX game. He's averaged 5 TDs a season in his career. Sure he's great but he's not without his warts.

3.26 Rams Select Nick Fairley, DT/DE

I think he can be a 3-4 DE and we know he can be a 4-3 DT. Building that DLine big time here.

Are you planning to play 3-4, 4-3, or are undecided? Your start is interesting.
Very interesting, he can go either way with that pick. I agree that Fairley can play beside Wilfork on the inside, or can play DE in a 3-4.Remember, its important to the judges on how your team fits together. IE, it wouldn't have been smart to draft Duane Brown and Joe Thomas since one will lose value going to RT. Also, drafting a 3-4 OLB, and making him play OLB in a 4-3. You want your team to fit together. Drafting Clay Mathews, DeMarcus Ware, and Brian Orakpo wouldn't work because them playing at the same time would be nearly impossible.

3.28 Minnesota Vikings select Andrew Whitworth, LT

Protect Brady's blindside, superb pass blocker which he has to be in the AFC North. Risky taking the rookie tackles before some proven guys, I'll take the sure thing to maximize the last few great years of Brady.

Tackle run!!!3.29 Eugene Monroe, LT
He was originally my pick at 3.25 before switching to the rookie. Time will tell whether I made a good choice or not - I will say Monroe looks to be a nice up and comer.

Side note - as a bears fan, I hear they're making a run for him... hope they do!

Skeltore and Wu-Banger are here, AwesomeAuger is always around so we could make a nice round back down to the 4th round.

NY giants select -

3.31 - Brian Cushing , LB

Young Captain of the defense.... building a team around Cushing and Luck gives me a solid nucleus for many years.

Had Cushing typed out before I went with Whitworth. I'm probably going to go with a 3-4, but drafting Cushing to go along with Ware, almost forces me into it.

Funny ...I wanted Whitworth here to pair with Long.....love his nasty streak and versatility.

 I probably would have been happy with Fisher.

Not really. Ware is moving to defensive end in a 4-3 this season, and Cushing can certainly play MLB.
