at least we have two better QBs than anything the Jets have going.Yet it is almost 4 months since that article and Gaither is still on the team. Possible that the new coach/GM (who were not there when that article was printed, correct?) may see something different in him. All I know is that he was possibly the best OT in football the latter part of 2011, so the talent is there. Just have to get the head right. Going to an organization like the Colts may help him in that regard? Menelik Watson is the 4th or 5th projected Offensive tackle in the draft, but the #1 or #2 right tackle. Just like Mitchell Schwartz and Cordy Glenn last year, and he should be drafted right around the same spot or earlier as those two. He will be just fine for me.I'm obviously not as high on Gaither as you are. Neither are his teammates according to this article: http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2013/jan/04/acee-jared-gaither-return/You can't count on him to even be out there since he's only started 20 games in the last 4 years. Both of my tackles will be fine, so Gates would not be able to help the Guards/Center block anyway.![]()
Your other side is the 5th best rookie OT in the draft.
Watson should be fine, but he'll likely have some growing pains starting as a rookie without great help from a vet guard or blocking TE.My main problem with Gaither isn't his head, but his back. Because of his height (6'9") he has to bend a lot to get leverage, and this leads to back problems that have plagued him his whole career. I'm from MD so I've watched him closely for a while, as his size/strength/talent have always intrigued me. The problem is he's proven he can't stay on the field.Yet it is almost 4 months since that article and Gaither is still on the team. He's got nice upside. I especially like him with Mallett (I know Dalton is your starter) who has as big an arm as anyone. Seriously though he's awesome in Madden especially as #2 TE. He's blazing fast and can block.'FUBAR said:'ExaltedOne said:Love this guy in Madden'FUBAR said:Don't really like the pick, but I need a deep threat...

I've always thought the opposite. Nelson was overrated because of Rodgers and Bowe was underrated because he's never had a legitimate QB throwing to him.'Dr. Octopus said:I'd disagree with this (at Wayne's current age, not if he was in his prime), but then again I've long thought that Bowe was one of the more over-rated WRs in the league and I think Nelson is probably one of the more under-rated WRs in the league.Bowe, Garcon, and Wayne are better than Nelson, James Jones, and Cobb.

Why would you play as the Jets in Madden?I wouldn't. I would trade for Hill. Why would you play as the Jets in Madden?
Watch Nelson play and tell me what he skill he's lackin in? Obviously playing with a great QB is a plus, but Nelson makes plays that help Rodgers as well. Nelson has above average size and speed, runs great routes, catches every ball in his vicinty and makes plays with the ball in his hands.Bowe always seemed a little lazy to me. His QB is also not as bad as you claim. Cassell did fine in NE and his first year or two in KC - he eventually turned into a turnover machine, but could still make a WR productive. Bowe has a reputation as a tremendous run after the catch receiver, but I haven't seen that translate on the field. I'm not syaing he's terrible, juts more name than game imo.I've always thought the opposite. I agree, I think Nelson is one of the best WR's in the league. Of course his QB helps a lot, but everything I've seen from Nelson has been great.Watch Nelson play and tell me what he skill he's lackin in? It's funny how this happens. Jordy was a high 2nd round draft pick, who ran a 4.5 flat at 6'3" 215. He put up monster numbers. People are crowing Cobb and have accepted Jennings as a top level player, despite them sharing the same QB/offense. Cobb and Jennings were both drafted after Jordy, and despite being much shorter and smaller, didn't run much faster than him. I am not accusing anyone individually of this, and I hate to play the race card, but I - for the life of me - can't find other reasoning, aside from him not "looking" like the typical NFL WR, due to pigment.Watch Nelson play and tell me what he skill he's lackin in?

Nelson would be good anywhere. He helps Rodgers as much as Rodgers helps him.I guess it's a matter of perception. I had the opportunity to take Nelson instead of Bowe but opted for Bowe. Everything stated about Nelson you can also say about Bowe. Bowe has good size, speed, is a good route runner who has a physical element to his game, had 2 less drops than Nelson on 36 more targets, and makes plays with the ball in his hands.Bowe did have problems early in his career but I feel like he's matured as a person. If the Chiefs did not agree, then they wouldn't have given him a 5 year contract worth 56 million. Also, I don't consider Cassel/Quinn/Palko to be adequate quarterbacks.I'm not saying Nelson is a bad receiver. He was actually my pick had Bowe been taken. I firmly believe that Bowe is a better receiver though ignoring stats and talking solely about the value that the player would add to my team.Watch Nelson play and tell me what he skill he's lackin in? For this draft, I had Nelson ahead of Jennings by far. Cobb and Nelson are different types of players who fill different roles. Nelson fits the classic outside receiver position a lot better while Cobb fits the slot/joker role a lot better. With Rodgers and my offense, I value a Nelson more than Cobb but I can see why on some boards Cobb is the higher rated player depending on the personnel around him. It's funny how this happens. Garcon? I'd suggest he is less of a posession WR and more explosive than Cobb, myself.I think the two sets of receivers are pretty even on an individual basis. I'd probably prefer the Packers though because Cobb is so explosive out of the slot. Nobody on the Bowe/Garcon/Wayne team fits that bill, they are all more posession-types.
That's fair and my intial comment was to the "your 3 WRs" v. the "GB 3 WRs" and not necessarily Bowe v. Nelson. Either way both comparisons are close and one could argue either side.I guess it's a matter of perception. I had the opportunity to take Nelson instead of Bowe but opted for Bowe. I agree and actually have no issue with someone taking Bowe over Nelson. I just don't understand why Nelson gets the "situation" tag, when others with great QB play do not.For this draft, I had Nelson ahead of Jennings by far. I view Wayne as my slot receiver on most downs. Historically, Wayne has worked on the outside but played in the slot last year and had a career year as a result. Wayne isn't explosive, extremely quick, physical, or fast and never has been. He is the best technician in the league and putting him in the slot helps get him a clean release on the line. I'm relying on Wayne's technique and consistent hands over some flashy, young, quick slot receiver.I think the two sets of receivers are pretty even on an individual basis. I'd probably prefer the Packers though because Cobb is so explosive out of the slot. Nobody on the Bowe/Garcon/Wayne team fits that bill, they are all more posession-types.

Despite being injured the entire season, he made big plays for the Redskins consistently and seemed to get a long TD with pretty good frequency. The one long TD against the Cowboys with the amazing acrobatic catch behind him sticks out in my mind.I do agree both sets are very good. I'd say Nelson and Bowe are close enough to consider that a push. I'd say Garcon is better than Jones though and I think the difference is pretty sizeable. Jones really stood out last year though so the gap may be shrinking. Wayne vs. Cobb is tough to compare because they are so completely different in what they offer. Everything considered, I can see an argument for both sides but for me personally, I like my trio better. That's fair and my intial comment was to the "your 3 WRs" v. the "GB 3 WRs" and not necessarily Bowe v. I probably didn't state what I meant to say. I was under the impression that past stats affected the perception of both players which is obviously unfair to compare considering the difference in quarterback play. Both are relatively complete receivers but, as I've stated in other posts, I think Bowe offers a little more to his game than Nelson.I agree and actually have no issue with someone taking Bowe over Nelson. I was hoping to nab him. AnnoyingWith pick 15.24, the 49ers select TE Delanie Walker
Crazy-good blocking TE who can move. Needs to work on his hands, but even if he isn't the best pass-catching TE, he is one of the best blockers.
Nice pick, almost drafted him over Kuper but I wanted to fill the guard hole first.15.21 Cincinnati Bengals select Dan Williams, DT
For the multiple defense to really work I need a big space-eating nose tackle to stuff the run and eat up blockers so my athletic pass-rushers can make the plays. Williams was the #8 DT against the run in 2012 and I think with his renewed work ethic he'll continue to improve.
