Don't go near him. He was a top prospect coming out of BYU but never truly developed. Has slow football speed, bad recovery, and is late to each and every play. Played better in 2004 but he is not the type of LB the Dungy likes to play int he middle. Because of the amount of ground the MLB has to cover in the Dungy-2 I would not expect Morris to be back. I thought that New England would make a play for him but I think that is unlikely now with their signing of Monty Beisel. He will be a LB4, at best, unless he lands in the ideal situation and I cant really figure out what that is or who would give him that opportunity.
I never understood why it was that "he may not be back".
Just figured it out....he's a UFA.
The Colts don't seem to be real deep at the MLB spot. Fifth rounder, #173,
Tyjuan Hagler is a MLB who may compete for time playing time in the base defense. Beyond that there is not a lot left...Gary Brackett, a well known household name, is the back-up.
So, Morris may still be the man....I'll wait and see what develops before releasing him.
