Capella's 24-hour, VERY bigly OH MY GOD HOW DID WE GET HERE thread (1 Viewer)

The primary problem is people deciding that a con man with no political experience, sketchy business experience, denying of climate change, willful ignorance of how the world works, and did not get more informed about domestic or foreign policy over his entire campaign should be in charge of the entire country.  And that's without mentioning a long history of racist and sexist behavior that likely has a long string of unprosecuted crimes.  That's the primary problem.  Trump should have been disqualified from the race the moment he entered.  And he wasn't.  Who his opponent was is immaterial to any of that.
He was talking about the Dem primary. HTH.

I just want to see her concession speech, and hopefully that is the last I ever see of her.

Slick Willie?  I want moar, moar, moar.    He's going no where, neither is the Clinton Foundation you morons.  :bye:

This is just so remarkable.  Everything about this is surreal.  No ground game.  A complete cast of characters surrounding him.   Tweeting whatever comes to mind.   And victory.   So amazing.

Pretty numb honestly, man. This #### stick Trump better prove me wrong. I have zero hope he is capable.
I had less hope that he could win than he being not the worst president we ever had. Well, the first thing seems to be happening. we can hope he turns out to be like trent dilfer and just manage #### instead of actually doing anything. it's a long shot, i know.

The funny (and sad) part is Bernie could have easily beaten Trump.

Im genuinely surprised at this outcome. Hillary is an overall weak candidate and not a very good politician but trump is weaker. It kind of feels like a bad dream. The dude from that reality show is our president now..

Republicans have the house, senate & presidency. The Supreme Court is gonna lean right, especially if Trump  gets to pick two justices. Gonna be an interesting 4 years. ObamaCare is toast.

But  what I hope more than anything is that the American public looks to the mainstream media with a real suspicious eye.  They flat out misrepresented everything and tried to  influence the election more than any FBI letter or Russian influence

The guy can't even make a decent looking hat. Worst looking cap ever. Frank sinatra wore that style cap to the Canonball 2 wrap party in 83 or whatever.

I'm pretty sure I posted in one of my guessing predictions that it will all come down to New Hampshire.

Well..... here we are. Almost. Unreal.

Don't forget Corey Lewandowski being the political Pete Best

CNN blaming Russia now.  Funny thing is, there's some merit to the wiki-leaks stuff.  3-4 weeks of this stuff had an impact, don't kid yourself.

A lot of this stuff is why President Trump gets put in a box while the true PTB run things.

Perhaps the least qualified person to be in charge of anyone will be president with a Republican house, Senate and majority of the scotus.

Yeah, if only it wouldn't affect my 401K and the economy in general.
Look at Brexit.  Plan accordingly.
I would almost bet that if the Brexit vote was held today - it wouldn't happen. A lot of second guessing on this. As far as the market perspective there are winners and losers depending on where you sit in the British/Euro economy as it needs to be unlinked. Here I don't know what to plan for - the guy has been all over the place. A lot of his economic ideas are just impossible to enact when all is said and done without really ripping some parts of our economy apart. I don't even know how he'll interact with Congress - does he go full Tea Party or can the money guys weasel their way in. Does he attack the Fed? - I don't know. But a lot of his supporters will demand it. Washington is about to get even louder as everyone demands an audience with Trump and they will be taking some sort of credit for this victory. Rather than looking at Brexit I think we might need to look at Andy Jackson.

So... how is it possible that Obamas approval is so high yet trump wins?   Is it just that Clinton was so bad or what?   This is amazing.

And get ready for a suddenly very active media being critical of a sitting President for the first time in 8 years

The most optimistic I can be about a Trump win is a story of an alleged event that happened shortly before the convention.  There's a story about there claiming the Trump campaign offered the VP slot to John Kasich, pitching his role in the Trump Administration would be "domestic and foreign policy", while Trump's role would be "making America great again".  Now the thought of Pence being the one pulling the strings doesn't offer much solace to me, but the possibility that Trump and his people know he is in way over his head helps.  A little.

Yeah, except that in spite of all that, he beat her.  How bad did she have to be to lose to this clown?  Again, if Hillary primary voters can't admit their faults, we may never move past what is happening tonight.  Get a clue Democrats, she is an awful person.  I would have voted for Bernie in a heartbeat.  Instead I voted for Johnson.

Obama gave up the Senate, the House, and most state governments.  He was never able to translate his personal like ability to the party.

My buddy who is a former SF, crazy combat vet, really successful businessman, and Hillary delegate has to be destroyed right now.  I feel bad for him, but I still want to send him a snarky text.  Is that wrong?
