The OP constantly speculates and puts a negative spin on everything he talks about.
Please give me some examples of my constant speculations... I'll be
Well, since you asked...
:lmao:

Whats the SP feelings on Marv. How many Full games do u expect out of him this yr?

And How Effective will he be on the field?

I got the feeling that its going to be a bad year for Harrison owners, I sense that there will be a lot GTDs, a lot of him having to rest during games, be pulled out early for health reason and saving him during blow outs.

I just think he won't be as effective on the field either... never mind the injury, it is very hard for a player at that age to miss about half a season and return to form, ever again.
w/ Anderson signed for 3 years... and Cleveland will be prob never trade Quinn away; is it worth holding Quinn in a 12 team or smaller dynasty.

Contract Information for Derek Anderson

2/29/2008: Signed a three-year, $24 million contract. The deal contains $14.5 million in guarantees, including a $7 million signing bonus. Another $1 million is available through incentives based on Pro Bowls and performance. 2008: $950,000, 2009: $1.45 million (+ $5 million roster bonus), 2010: $7.45 million (+ $2 million roster bonus), 2011: Free Agent

If Anderson puts up #s again... Quinn is going to be on the Bench for a long, see A Rodgers.
Saints GM Mickey Loomis was non-committal when asked about Deuce McAllister's future with the club on Wednesday.

New Orleans will make a decision on McAllister in March, when he's due a $1 million roster bonus. It seems likely that Deuce will be paid after Reggie Bush failed to establish himself as an every-down answer in 2007. The team could then look to turn some of his $3.6 million salary into incentives. Loomis did say that McAllister's recovery from a torn ACL is going well.

I disagree, I think he'll be cut. Both Reggie and Deuce failed when both were playing (Reggie was doing decent until he got hurt).

I highly doubt that NOS keeps Deuce around now that he has both knees torn up. There will be plenty of FA RBs that are younger and cheaper if the Siants wish to place Bush in a similar 2006 RBBC.
What's the big deal here. It's a rumor folks and the OP stated as such. You handle this info the same way you handle PFT.

That thud you heard is CJ and Housh's value plummeting this week! Fitz looked awful and Palmer is "visiting" baseball Drs....you can see where this is headed!

I dont agree I thought he looked pretty good the offensive line was horrible

Carson Palmer indicated that his trip to see a New York Mets team doctor about his elbow is only a precautionary step aimed at getting clearance to resume practicing.

FOXSports suggested Sunday that Palmer could be shut down for the season, but he says that's out of the question. "If they give me clearance it doesn't matter whether were 9-6 or 0-15, I'm going to play," Palmer said. Still, the same doctor Palmer is visiting recently recommended Mariano Rivera's right shoulder scope, a procedure that shut Rivera down for three months.

sounds like a visit to Dr Andrews - they rarely end well! As for the fitz comments - I was at the Jet game - TheOL and running game for Cincy was putrid, but Fitz looked lousy too. CJ/Housh out o the top 20 as long as Fitz is the QB IMO

Housh is still money in PPR leagues.CJ needs to be severely downgraded, though.

Just saw Lewis' news conference on ESPN News. He already ruled Palmer out for the Pittsburgh game this week and said Fitzpatrick would start. He stated the team will continue to take a "conservative approach" to Palmer's injury.

Yeah, having gone through this with Francisco Liriano with the Twins, the thing I find most alarming as a Palmer dynasty owner is we could waste away 2008 waiting for this thing to turn around and still need the surgery which would waste 2009 also. For Liriano, they rested him for 1-2 months and then, when he was finally deemed ready, he went out and heard the pop after a couple innings. That was all she wrote and Liriano missed the entire following season to recover. Now, as I recall Liriano had a minor tear to this ligament while Palmer reportedly only has inflamation and no structural damage.

from CBS Sportsline:

Palmer won't play in Week 7

Carson Palmer, QB CIN

News: Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer will miss another game because of his sore elbow on his right (throwing) arm. Coach Marvin Lewis said Monday that Ryan Fitzpatrick will start against the Steelers on Sunday, giving Palmer another week to rest his right elbow. It'll be the third game Palmer misses this season because of the injury. Palmer sat out a 26-14 loss to the Jets on Sunday, then stayed in New York to be examined by Dr. David Altchek, who works with the New York Mets. Palmer was hoping that the second opinion he got from Altchek would be more encouraging and allow him to get back on the field.

Analysis: There are rumors that Palmer might wind up having Tommy John surgery, which would impact his next two seasons and possibly the rest of his career. Expect the Bengals to be very careful with Palmer in the short-term, likely taking starts from him like they are in Week 7 against a very strong Steelers defense. Keep him benched for now.

No new info on Palmer, but in line with my prior post I'm bumping with another frightening example of time wasted hoping the Tommy John surgery can be avoided. This Twins pitcher wasted 6 months trying to rehab an ulner collateral ligament when he could have been ready for 2009 if he'd had the surgery in May. Hopefully this does not play out similarly for Palmer. I just don't see why they are taking the chance of losing 2009 when this team is doomed already for 2008.
Surgery will force Twins' Neshek to miss '09The Twins lost reliever Pat Neshek for the 2009 season Tuesday when he was diagnosed with a torn ligament in his right elbow, forcing the team into a quick re-examination of its offseason priorities.Neshek, 28, had a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament in May, and the Twins medical staff recommended rehab instead of surgery. Neshek received a second opinion from noted orthopedist James Andrews, who also advised against surgery. The hope was Neshek's elbow would recover by spring training, but he reinjured himself in a throwing session last week in Fort Myers, Fla.

Tommy John injury is rumored, the guy can't practice this week, Swelling in the elbow is never good.... team is taking a total dump this yr.All signs are pointing to shutting him down at some point this season.Thoughts
I have considered Palmer done for the year for weeks now.

Unfortunately, done for the year doesn't even necessarily mean "recovering for 2009." That's what bothers me.

Anyone else holding out hope he may be back?

I know the Bengals are not the sharpest organization, but why hold an active roster spot for Palmer this long? He could have been IR'd long ago.

Glass is half full?

:lmao:

The answer probably lies somewhere in between why they let Rudi go for Chris Perry and why they resigned Chris Henry after infinite brushes with the law.

I can see it now. They wait all ####### year and decide to operate, extending his recovery-time to jeporadize a timely return for 09. Wouldn't be the first time this has happened

That's why they are the Bengals. Seems in line with a lot of their decisions, bad ones.
