Carson Palmer - Super Bowl (1 Viewer)

I Love Doggies
(TheHuddle) Oakland Raiders QB Carson Palmer said he feels the team is close to contending for a Super Bowl. 'As far as being close to a playoff team, it's more than that,' Palmer said. 'We're close to a championship team. There's a lot of work that needs to be put in and a lot of hurdles that we need to get over, but we need to be heading into this season thinking more than just playoffs.'

Analysis: Palmer has a 50-56 career won-loss record so we're not sure what he knows about championship teams, but he's right in that the Raiders have some pieces already in place. They ranked ninth in total offense last year (highest rank since 2002). However, the defense slipped to 29th in both points and yardage. 'Playoff team' seems like a reasonable goal to stick to.

Whadya expect him to say about the upcoming season? That he's just collecting a paycheck and playing out the string? Rotoworld's analysis is based on a track record from a different team, different era, different coaching staff. Last year he was a guy that came off the couch and got thrown into the fire and still the Raider offense was top 10. I like the attitude and of setting goals, and working toward them. Any starting QB on any team should have Carson's attitude. If not, then sorry, but you got the wrong guy.

All that time off "retired" must've enabled Palmer to improve his Madden skills. I assume that is the Super Bowl of which he speaks.

not trying to stir anything, serious question

is it a given that Palmer is the starting QB?

I'd say so. He just needs to hang onto it long enough that the Raiders jettison Campbell and Pryor so they don't ruin D. Moore with their horrid play.

Yes and he probably will be for the next 3 or more years.Carson looked fine physically in 2011. If they can keep DMC/Moore/Ford/DHB healthy and a full offseason together, they'll be one of the best offenses in the NFL.
