Cash? (1 Viewer)

The phone-case wallet is the best invention in the last couple of years. Once you ditch the front pocket wallet, you'll never go back. It's extremely liberating.
Haven't carried a full size wallet in 5 years... The card holder/money clip is amazing
Do yourself a favor and switch to the phone case wallet. No more having to remember both. I had a similar clip/card holder previously, and the phone case wallet is light years better.
I could see how that would be handy, Except if you lose it you're ####ed. For someone like myself who keeps my phone out on the table/bar/etc and has lost my phone more than once... I could never do this. But can see how the single item would be cool.

Usually 60-120 on hand.
Same.

I don't like whipping out the credit card at certain places, or to certain cashiers.
A good reason why I try to pay for all my transactions on AMEX. See post below about returns. Amex is wonderful about bad charges. I received a refund when I questioned a charge, because they did not receive a response from the vendor. Beautiful.

paying cash leaves you unprotected.
True, hackers might get a hold of my $20 bill.
Returning something you paid cash for may be a nightmare.... Returning something on an Amex is a breeze 99.99999% of the time.

Amex also leaves the customer with zero liability for fraud.
Usually around $100 because most of the bars and cafes around here are cash only.
Don't understand how a business is cash only at this point... Even if they save in other spots, they are still losing revenue.
:goodposting: Blows my mind.
Went to a restaurant in a food court in a mall recently and their 'registers' were a couple of iPads with the little CC attachments.

Bought this wallet a while ago. Great, nice and thin, probably due to fact it was designed to go in front pocket. I love the fact that the ID is in an open view pocket. I have to show ID to get into my kids school, and just having to flash my wallet is awesome; instead of having to dig out the ID.

A really good German deli near me only takes cash. They have some little BS atm in the store but who wants to pay an additional $5 fee or whatever it is. Plus, if you just want a bottle of water, it's much easier to bypass the line and drop a dollar on the counter than to wait on line with a debit card.
Mind you that this was 15 years ago, but when I moved into the neighborhood I'm in now, I had to search far and wide for a liquor store that took CCs/debits. It was maddening.
We had a new liquor store open up nearby and they seemed to have a great wine selection. I usually buy by the case and get a 10%-20% discount but this place only gave a discount when paying cash. wtf!Haven't gone back since.
Why should they give you a nice discount on a case of wine then lose another @4% for the use of the credit card?Edit: I've actually been angry a couple times asking places to get a discount if I paid in cash and they said they couldn't give a discount for cash, then just charged it to get rewards stuff from my card...

That's a fair point. When you have kids and the frat-guy party lifestyle is over, it's a better option.

Keep about $80 in my wallet. Good for splitting lunch bills with friends and colleagues. I like to pay cash for <$20 at mom&pop stores and restaurants to save them on the credit card fee. My father owned an independent retail business and for some, every bit helps. Buying something off the dollar menu at McDonalds? AMEX!

I'd say I have $0 in my wallet as often as I have anything else. $5 in there right now.
This is me. It seems like when there is any money in my wallet, my wife can sense it and somehow find a use for it. So I pretty much use my debit and credit cards for everything.
