I don't mind the play call, they are trying to get a first down and force the Seahawks to use their last 2 timeouts and the 2 minute warning. However, if that play is called you tell Schaub that if he is pressured or it isn't open to just take the sack, or give yourself up. I have no idea if the coaching staff said that or if Schaub just got scared and threw it up. Even with the sack the Seahawks have to use a timeout and with about 2:30 left they have to drive 80 + yards to tie the game.

Sherman knew what play they were running as soon as the WR went in motion. You can see him telling Chsncellor to stay with his blitz and don't buy the fake. And he motions Thomas to stay deep. Sherm used hours of film study to diagnose this play and made sure the Hawks D was in the best position to defend it. Yeah Schaub shouldn't have thrown it, but he had pressure on him and a DB right in the right spot to pick it off because of the D's prep work forcing a mistake on a critical play. You can't take that away from the D.

I am not taking it away. He made a great play but I am saying it was more the fault of Schaub. However he did throw it and there was a play to be made by Sherman and he made the play and they won the game. That is why I said they were 1 - 1 since this post was made and ALMOST 0 - 2 if not for a horrible INT by Schaub.

the Seahawks defense gave up 2 field goals, no touchdowns, 66 yards rushing and 157 yards passing, and had two interceptions.

They could have played better on 3rd down, but I don't think any team would be dissatisfied with that kind of prodiction from their D.

Well late in the game, Brown about tossed a fumble to wilson.

The Titans play good D. Marshawn wore them down some, kudos to him, but I thought it was their line moreso(chicken or egg maybe). The O-line won that game IMO, they were running real well own field when Wilson took off too and not all linemen do that. The Hawks were too much in the fourth, but the Titans D did a good job til then. The Titans offense stinks. I wouldn't give Sherman any more credit than all the other DBs that shut them down because they can't pass.

I take it you didn't watch the game. Seattle physically dominated the Titans all game, they just weren't able to separate on the scoreboard due to some very weird fluky plays. Tennessee was extremely fortunate to be within one score. They didn't leave Seattle thinking they should have won that game, they were just simply beaten.

Titans were only winning because of one boneheaded play by a backup holder. The Seahawks D had the titans totally contained. Only Seattle miscues in the red zone kept the Titans in it.

I am not taking it away. He made a great play but I am saying it was more the fault of Schaub. However he did throw it and there was a play to be made by Sherman and he made the play and they won the game. That is why I said they were 1 - 1 since this post was made and ALMOST 0 - 2 if not for a horrible INT by Schaub.

The best thing about Schaub's pass was the announcer's description of the pass - Schaub's hot air balloon was intercepted.

Look, I don't want to really get into this and I'm certain various folks will refute this by trying to get specific on what Sherman allowed vs. the rest of the team. I'll tell you right now, I'm simply not going to even try to determine this because I don't have the games recorded nor do I want to spend the time continuing to argue this. But you guys are really searching hard on this one.

the premise of the thread didn't account for the fact that sherman reportedly* doesn't routinely follow the top WR wherever they go (for years, reggie wayne always lined up on one side, but i don't think that is the norm these days)... hopefully people don't base their decision on this point...

there may be OTHER reasons to avoid the situation, but that isn't one of them, in cases where opposition's top WR lines up on different sides (unless they line up appreciably more on sherman's side?)...
