CB/WR Travis Hunter, JAX (5 Viewers)

Hunter or Egbuka week 1 in a .5PPR?
One won the Heisman and the Biletnikoff last year, the other was never the best WR on his own college team.

Give me the alpha. Everyone has been talking about how many snaps he'll play while not mentioning what he can do with those snaps.

Don't get me wrong—I really, really like Egbuka and athletic prowess mixed with his kind of intelligence and what seems to be determination and grit can go a long, long way. But if it's IDP you've got the queen of the chessboard and even if it's just offense you've got a guy that Liam Cohen wants to put in the coveted slot position a decent amount of the time (people say he'll play there all the time, but I've read Cohen's interviews and I think that's erroneous—Hunter will be there a lot, but so will Brian Thomas Jr.).

Actually, the more I think about it in .5 PPR for solely the first week? That's a lot tougher than I thought. Carolina isn't that impressive but the Jags' first unit didn't look exceptional recently whereas Tampa seems to have had a good preseason and ran roughshod over the Falcons last year. I think if a person is deciding between these two as their last one in the lineup that the person in question is in for a good year and I'll leave the opining for another day.

One also set the receptions and receiving yards record at Ohio State over Olave, Wilson, Chris Carter, MHJ, etc. The disrespect lol. Both great college careers.

If Hunter plays both ways the NFL is going to celebrate him. The hype is going to skyrocket! If he focuses on offense he will be a huge commodity, possibly even over hyped. But he will be one of the biggest NFL players to market. Buy low.

drafted this guy as he just fell too far, but have no interest in starting him until I see something.

Are people actually rolling him out there week 1?

LOL! Yes! In one of my leagues I am forced to start my only 3 "healthy" WRs: Diggs, Doubs, and Hunter. Was an orphan team I took over and my only other WRs are Christian Watson and Jalen McMillan. 🤕

Travis is a player Coen invested a ton to snag from the Browns.
2nd overall pick in the draft
Declared him a starter on offense and backup on defense.
Coen offense is proven capable of supporting multiple high profile FF receivers even elite production

Signs point to elite talent meeting premium opportunity. I’m confused why the community is so blatantly pessimistic.

They got skittish about his snaps. I told them repeatedly back even before the NFL Draft that a) he’s playing offense and b) he’s WR1 in the draft. If I had the 1.01 in my IDP league, I’m pretty sure he’s my pick.
