Chad, another TO situation? (1 Viewer)

I love watching him play, but like the article says, didn't he learn anything watching the TO situation this year?

The Chad Johnson offseason soap opera could be beginning. Agent Drew Rosenhaus signed Johnson as a client a year ago, and Johnson immediately started making noise about a new contract, though he is signed through 2009. Did Johnson learn anything from the Terrell Owens situation?

Outside of the reporter asking the question I do not see anything here with CJ. Just because a reporter poses the question doesn't mean the player feels the same way. So why post this thread when there is nothing similar to these WR's besides their agent? So every player that has Drew is like TO? Looks alot like a fishing trip to me. :fishing:

Johnson's and Owen's personalities are very simuliar. They both love talking trash and showboating. If they werent that way, they wouldnt be who they are and as good of WRs as they are. A person's weaknesses and strengths are due to the same reasons. No matter our opinions, they will both talk trash and both put up outstanding statistics.

You're serious? These guys have quite a few similarities -- both are famous for their innovative end zone celebrations. Both are loudmouths who garner a lot of media attention. Both are arrogant and believe they're the best at what they do. And both are among the best at their respective position. The big difference is Chad hasn't proven to be a locker room cancer while TO, well, we all know about him...

Chad Johnson is Good

TO is Bad
 The depth of this analysis is astounding.

I doubt CJ becomes quite the "cancer" TO has, but he also has a better QB, coach, team, etc.

This may become interesting at some point, given that there are people on this messageboard who insist on comparing Chad Johnson to TO. I guess we'll see how it pans out.

You know I really don't understand why Johnosn gets a free pass all the time. He is alot like TO in terms of trying to show up the other team. And although Johnson hasn't publically called out a teamate, the guy attacked his receivers coach? WTF? If Lewis keeps enabling him, this situation is going to explode.

Good post, although I believe the media has painted TO as bigger problem in the locker room than he really was. Half the Eagles team showed up to his "party", so it appears as though he had plenty of support within the team. Funny what ESPN and the Eagles controlled media can accomplish. The two are very similar characters and players, time will tell if the Bengals brass tires of his act like the Eagles front office did.

Yeah, I'm sure the Eagles decided to pay him to stay home because of reports in the media.

One of the fun things about debating is that everyone is entitled to an opinion. As for mine, well to suggest that TO and CJ are similar based on the reasons stated above makes me wonder how many have actually seen CJ talk and hear what he has said. I'm guessing no. If you listen to these 2 you'll find they are nothing alike. CJ has fun with the oppossing teams in fun manner. TO simply insults everyone. So I'd say there is nothing that similar to one another. If you look closer you'll find their manner, tone and demeaner couldn't be more different. CJ has never throw anyone under the bus. CJ is respected by his teammates. CJ is also an excellent WR. CJ is cordial to the media and respectful and jokes with the other team. Many of them are good friends off the field. So no they are not alike. And to force the issue is just that. Nothing more really. IMO.
