Chargers at Bills Game Thread (1 Viewer)

John Miller is terrible. They are absolutely going to have to replace him. No recognition on the blitz and just slow as molasses to slide over. The rusher got through almost untouched.

Bills also did Allen no favors gaining just 3 yards on 2 unimaginative and poorly blocked runs on 1st and 2nd down leaving an obvious passing down.

The O-line is at least 75% of the problem on offense. Just terrible.

Going all-in with Chargers waiver wire pickups today -- Ekeler (flex), Mike Williams (3rd WR) and the D/ST.

I am astonished as to just how bad this online is...
52 million dead money... I guess that's what you.. get?
I'm guessing that blown-up running play was on Logan Thomas, because it looked like McCoy was screaming at him as Allen was getting tackled.  But your point remains.

They have the least amount of money spent on the O-line in the league. And the margin between them and the 2nd lowest spender is like 30%.

And that's in a league with poor overall O-line play to begin with. Pathetic.

Report from my sister at the game, it's ungodly hot and the crowd is totally not into it.  What a shame.  This is looking to be some historically bad football this year.

Lol, Bills only have 4 CBs active and one of them just got injured. At least SD doesn't have a fantastic passing game.

Honestly, I want to love Sean McDermott, but his game day coaching and philosophy is that of a fossil.

I mean...come on. Not a defender even close to Gordon. How does that even happen?

If this season keeps going this way, screw McDermott and Beane. Yeah, building a team takes some time, but this team isn't just at a talent deficit, they're clearly at a huge coaching disadvantage as well.

Just pathetic. Bills send 6 on 3rd and 12 and can't get put pressure on Rivers.
I was actually sitting on my couch here saying "well, Jerry Hughes looks like a bright spot today because he's consistently beating Russell Okung."  So what do they do on the very next play on 3rd and long?  They drop him into coverage, give Rivers like 6 seconds in the pocket, and he finds Mike Williams for a first down.  So stupid.

The Bills are pretty bad. I was thinking they'd be a little more fired up for the home opener and show something after last week's thrashing.

I think now is an appropriate time to ask what the Bills will do with the #1 overall pick in 2019.

Rushers are in the backfield almost instantly on every single freaking snap. Gotta keep throwing some screens and quick hitters.

Man, Star Lotulelei is a total waste of money. The guy basically just stands there not moving linemen, not making tackles, not requiring a double team...nothing.

With how much money the Bills have spent on defense, how many draft picks they've used, and McDermott being a defensive coach, there is no excuse for how bad the defense is.

3rd and 2 and Murphy gets hit in the backfield as soon as he takes the handoff. Just no chance for the offense behind this line.

Edmunds looking really exposed in coverage here.  Caught flat-footed on the last TD throw, and took a terrible angle on that Allen catch.

I mean, the Bills were not a good team last year.  They lucked out to win a couple of games that they probably shouldn't have and accidentally backed into the playoffs, but they weren't really a "playoff team."  That said, this team is so much worse than last year's squad.  It's like we took 17 steps backward.

The defense had their terrible moments but also had some respectable games.  I have some faith that they'll be able to right that ship at some point.

The offense, though...you lose your 3 best OL and downgrade from a solid-yet-unspectacular middle-of-the-road starting QB to one of the worst in the NFL....not really a surprise, I guess.

Rivers throwing at him every play, and it's working.
Well, the Bills only have 3 healthy CBs right now. They should be running nickel or dime every play but don't have the personnel to do so. Expecting Edmunds to be covering guys like Gordon or Keenan Allen so often is just beyond stupid.

I know there have been 0-16 teams, but this Buffalo team is the worst team I've ever seen to start a season since like that 1-15 Saints team in the early 80s.  They aren't even a little competitive.
