Do Joe/Dodds and staff know something we don't re Gates? Anybody on the cheatsheet with an injury is listed as (P) or (Q). But nothing next to Gates, who's listed at #1. Just an oversight? He didn't practice all week, right?

Not much to go on, but here's what the SD paper reported yesterday afternoon:

Officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game, Gates said a decision won’t be made until after he steps out onto the field in the hours before kickoff.

“Déjà vu, man,” said Gates, later clarifying that this toe injury is not close to being as big as the one that required surgery. “I hate to make assumptions on Friday. I’ve got my will and my competitive nature, and (the sense of) just how important it is to be out there doing what I can. It’s one of those things where a guy goes an extra inch for you, I just want them to feel the same way about me.

“The decision Sunday will be the best decision for this team ... We won’t know until I try to run. And we’ll see from there.”
