THANK YOU SEATTLE!!!LOL, seattle
AgreedThis is working out real nice
DeCastro, Reiff. Need one those. SCREW UP A PICK JETS!!!Reiff, DeCastro, Mercilus, Chandler Jones for Chicago
No time wasted.....Shea McClellin....wow

Don't know. Disappointing. Not liking that pick, how do we pass up Chandler Jones there?
Ha, hard to say that today. Can we see him suit up first please.Harder and harder to be a Bears fan each year. Had hope this draft would be different with Emery. More of the same crap - best OL prospects fall to us and we whiff on the pick completely.
Settle down, Beavis.Harder and harder to be a Bears fan each year. Had hope this draft would be different with Emery. More of the same crap - best OL prospects fall to us and we whiff on the pick completely.
But where? OLB or DE? I dont think he was the best DE prospect on the board and OLB isn't a need.Ha, hard to say that today. Pretty sure he is hanging from a noose right nowFlap, the way OL is falling, we may get a gift in the 2nd.
Exactly, Shea can lineup at DE or LB. He adds flexibility we haven't had before. The Bears LBers are old and they have very little depth at the position. This is not a bad pick.
I was gonna say....they better believe he is a legit d end picking him in that spot.Shea is a DE opposite Peppers...2nd fastest DE at the combine
Emery already said he's a LE for now, but will eventually play both DE spots. He said he valued McClellin the highest of the 7 he was considering.I was gonna say....they better believe he is a legit d end picking him in that spot.Shea is a DE opposite Peppers...2nd fastest DE at the combine
With Rachel, Spencer, Louis, C. Williams, E. Williams all that can play Guard...vs Peppers, Idonijie, Wootton at DE.Then consider playing Rodgers/Stafford 4 times every year for the next 5.Inexcusable to pass on DeCastro.Edit-missed an e.
I'll tell you what makes it hard to be a Bear fan...all the doomcriers and chicken littles.

It sucks because why? Because you know exactly how McClellin will play? You know for a fact that DeCastro is going to be a stud in the NFL? You are 100% sure that this pick was a mistake?Could you please point me to your posts where you correctly predicted how previous draft picks were going to pan out? I remember back in 2000 when people were griping over the Bears taking an semi-sorta-OLB from a non-powerhouse school. I also remember back in 1998 Curtis Enis was a sure thing at #5 (just a few picks below another stud named Ryan Leaf). I also remember back in 2000 when the Patriots drafted Tom Brady in the 6th round. Oh wait...I don't remember that at all. Hell nobody but Tom Brady remembers that. This is a team that has consistently blown 1st round picks for decades. They need O-line help and an elite G falls to them but they select a 2nd tier DE. Call it what you want but it flat out sucks.
Sure, you can throw out names of players that were busts or late round winners. But, that doesn't have any effect on current or future draft picks. I don't know if McClellin will be a star or a bust. For that matter, I don't know what any of the players taken tonight will do. If you look back on the history of QB's taken #1 and #2 in the same draft, at least one of them will be a bust. (does that mean Luck or Griffen is going to bust? Who knows)With that said, I can only make judgement based on recent history. The Bears have a stud #1 DE in Peppers. The chance of McClellin being another stud is 50/50 at this point and time. We also know that Webb is not a stud #1 LT. But, if we were to draft one, then we have the same 50/50 chance of getting a stud. (at the very least, we would add some true LT depth to the OL. Everyone keeps saying Webb may develop into a LT, but I have two questions about this. One, what if it takes two more years for Webb to develop? Are we going to lose him in free agency, or have to pay him too much? Two, if Webb is still developing, what does it hurt to take another LT at this time and see if that player ahead of Webb for the LT position. (you could still use Webb as LT depth) Bottom line, ignoring OL problems will have a greater impact if things don't work out with Webb. The offset of adding McClellin will not be enough to overcome the problems of the OL.It sucks because why? Because you know exactly how McClellin will play? Agree with KCitons......#1 goal should be to keep Cutler upright. He cant get the ball to Marshall if he's on his ###. Along with Webb they have address help at ALL other OL positions other than RT. DeCastro and Reiff fell down the draft boards to us and were both ranked higher than McClellan.....I hope McClellan pans out but this is the first move by Emery that I didn't particularly like.Sure, you can throw out names of players that were busts or late round winners. Looks like some pretty good O-linemen left to pick up in the 2nd round. But I don't want to get into some long, in-depth coulda-woulda-shoulda. Bottom line is that we've drafted ONE player and the pessimists are kvetching already. Tell you guys what: Feel free to bump this page at the end of this season or even next. If you were right feel free to brag about it. But all this doom-and-gloom is premature.I heard rumors from NFL Scouts that they think Reiff is only a Guard. I also heard he can't play LT and is only a RT. We just drafted Carimi...do we really need two RT's?Putting that into perspective, I think going DE and getting a guy they wanted is fine.Sure, you can throw out names of players that were busts or late round winners. I hope you have been reading this thread over the past couple of weeks, instead of just jumping in on draft day. There have been a lot of us Bears fans that wanted them to address the RT position in Free Agency. When they didn't, we then expressed hope that they would address the problem in the draft. I get the feeling you think we are just bashing this pick without having any prior expectations.Sure, you can throw out names of players that were busts or late round winners.
