***Chicago Bears Thread*** Ben Johnson hired. The Resurrection Begins! (2 Viewers)

I just grabbed him off waiver the moment read it......He is a total step-up to what they currently have on the roster.
I don't think any Bear's receiver is very fantasy relevant in redraft yet.  I looked for him in my dynasty league and he was already on a roster.

Martavis Bryant demoted to scout team now. C'mon Pace now use that 6th rounder.
Steelers don't seem to want to trade Bryant.  They still have another year of him cheap too.  I'm not sure why the Bear's would want a player like him anyway.  I know I don't want him on the team.

Trubisky has a bad habit or ending his drop and sort of bouncing on his heels instead of cocking and throwing. Clearly he's figuring out defenses and trying to survey the field, but he holds the ball too long and it's a bad habit to be in. He looks worlds better when he has the presnap read and just makes the throw.

Once again by Dowell. No quick passes. Constant 3rd and long passes and sacks. Predictable play calling. Terrible pass blocking. 3 points in a half. Worst OC in the league.

2 minutes, 2 time outs, 2 downs to get a yard, they throw twice turn it over on downs. I'm done with Loggins, he is the worst in the league.

Obviously lots of trials and tribulations going on with the Bears, but Trubisky looks like a fantastic pick. The arm is so live; I won't lie, I get a bit of Aaron Rodgers vibe watching Trubisky throw the ball. Just needs some more talent at WR.

Also, good news for Bears fans, the Rams results post-Fisher make it more likely Fox and his "Princeton offense" can go shopping for a pair of sandals for a permanent vacation, come 2018.

Was nice to see Mitch throw the ball more and get more experience but this showed us all how many flaws the team really has.  They need WRs that can get separation and make catches for Mitch.  The need more depth on the OL.  They need a better head coach and OC to really work around Mitch.

I still see plenty to get excited about for the future of this team though.

Love seeing Trubisky out there playing and taking the good with the bad. Passed more today, although with horribly predictable play calling, and gained some valuable experience.

I’m ready to start #####ing about passing on Watson. Mitch looks ok, hard to properly evaluate him with this group, but seriously when will we ever have a good group?  We won’t. Should’ve taken the guy with the big game experience that can’t make stuff happen with his arms and legs. Said he was the perfect guy at the time and now it’s frustrating me to see how good he is.

WTF was that 4th and 1 at the end?  How about just pound Jordan?  1:40 left, 2 timeouts you can still run. Loggains stinks.

More importantly, build the Oline. Can't bring a rookie QB (any rookie QB) without a good Oline. Exhibit A: Andrew Luck.

Really not possible to form an accurate comparison between Trubisky and Watson yet.  That's almost as bad as Flap comparing this QB draft class to next year's draft class already.

If you really want to evaluate the two QB you're going to have to look at a lot more than just stats.  Mitch is improving every game but the issue is with play calling and lack of talent around him.  Watson has so many more opportunities to play better and he still makes plenty of mistakes.  Watson has made some terrible throws today and has two INTs.

I have no idea how that Zach Miller TD wasn't a TD. The "catch" rule in the NFL is so ridiculous - no common sense at all. That was a great throw by Trubisky, deserved better.

I'm still not sure how it got overturned.  I don't many people can figure how it was overturned.  The Bears really could have won this game pretty easily but just had too many screw ups and bad breaks.

Offsides on FG that led to a TD.  4 points

Missed FG.  3 points

Overturned TD by Miller.  6 points, possibly 7.

Look at what he’s doing in the hardest place to play for an opposing qb against probably the best D in the league. This is what, his 5th start? This guy is a real deal superstar.

Not what I was doing but thanks anyway. Didn't see you chiming in when everyone was crying about waiting until next year because the class was supposedly better. You have difficulty with context.  It's ok

Same thing happened in the Vikings game. Refs screwed us horribly in both.

It's the NFL way now. Their level of arrogance has led them to believe they can do whatever they want. That will end up being their downfall.

I'm fine with Mitch. Less experience, awful coaching, no talent around him. It's not surprising at all how much better Watson has looked.

It's a shame Mitch and the offense are being put through what Dowell and Fox are putting them through. They have to think the coaches are morons.

The team isn't that far off. If the refs didn't screw us hard in 2 games and they didn't drop 2 passes at the end of the Atlanta game, we'd be 5-3.  This team is a good coaching staff and a few additions on offense to being a playoff team.

I’ve come to realize that it really doesn’t matter what all the draft “experts” say each year and I most certainly don’t believe what teams say about players. Teams do not want other teams to know who they really like in the draft.

It doesn’t make much sense to bicker about which draft class is going to be better right now since so many things factor into it once they’re in the league.

It doesn’t matter. Do you honestly think Watson would be doing that much better than Trubisky if he was starting for the Bears? What if Trubisky was starting for Houston, would he be doing a lot worse than Watson?

We don’t know so it’s not worth it or even fair to compare them right now.

Now you're getting it!

Nothing wrong with comparing the guys and wondering.  You could use that point of view to say we should never compare any situations because they're all different.  Makes for interesting discussion instead of just shutting it down immediately saying we don't know.

It’s just too early to make any significant judgements on Trubisky and Watson right now. I think they both look pretty good. One thing I know for sure is that Watson has a lot more to work with and has better play calling than Trubisky.

Well I'm judging them.

No it’s not. I’m not saying it’s the end of the discussion, but we’re allowed to discuss this stuff right now. I was yelling for Watson the month before the draft and I really wish they took him especially after seeing how ridiculous he’s playing. I thought he would be better than Mitch then and I do even more so now. That’s not a knock on Trubisky.

How good would he look playing on this Bear’s team?  What would he have done to make this Bear’s team better?  How many TDs would he have?  How many pass attempts would he even have?

He'd probably be inactive or on the scout team.  Fox is terrible, loggins is not a NFL quality O-coordinator.

We win that game today with him. Guys a miracle worker.

Watson is a totally different player, and history hasn't been kind to QBs that rely on their athleticism that much. League catches up with them, forces them to play in the pocket, a series of knicks and injuries they lose a step, you've got the next RG3.

Trubisky is in the Steve Young mold, which is good, if he can live up to it. But it takes longer to develop for sure.

It’s possible but who’s catching the passes he’s throwing?  He can’t run every time. Who even knows if the coaching staff would even think he was ready to start yet, they don’t seem all that smart.

Whoa. Being reported by Mort, Schefter, etc that Zach Miller underwent emergency vascular surgery last night to try to save his leg. And from how Schefter's tweet is worded, it sounds like either the surgery is still going on or there is still more work to be done. Horrible.

I have to think that will end his career. He’s getting older, has a long history of injuries and will most likely be out through next season.

:(  Poor guy.  Really pulling for him here.  I can totally understand Kendall Wright's frustration with the SAINTS and the NFL for the looping replay on the JUMBOTRON.

It's more coaching than who's catching passes or blocking.
