10 game road trip to start 2018? That sucks.
They have major construction work coming over the winter, and want as much time as possible for completion.

What stands out is the number of three/four game homestands and road trips. That is a lot more disruptive than starting out the year thirteen days away from Chicago.

How'd you weather the storm? Everyone ok, any damage?
My family made it out well.  I don't have any trees in my yard and I boarded up my more vulnerable windows so no damage to my home.  Lakeland did get the eye of the storm though.  Huge oak trees ripped out of the ground, roots and all.  My business has been without power all week so that's my current concern.  We aren't the only ones though.  The mayor said yesterday a lot of the systems will have to be rebuilt.

Thanks for asking!

The base-running blunder by Happ/Contreras in the 3rd inning last night was dreadful.  I'm glad it didn't end up being a deciding factor.

One more with the Mets before a HUGE series with the red birds in town.

Jon Jay. Tommy LaStella. Maybe less so Wade Davis. All feel like unsung guys who've contributed a lot to this team.

Jay's at bat last night to start a rally was great. Seemed like 15 pitches.

Because it actually was 15 pitches.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Wait for your pitch: Jon Jay's remarkable, 15-pitch at-bat against Woodruff sparked a rally for the Cubs in the fifth inning. After 10 consecutive foul balls, Jay lined a single to right field. Woodruff then hit Bryant with a pitch, and, with lefty Josh Hader ready in the Brewers' bullpen, both runners advanced on Anthony Rizzo's groundout before scoring on Ben Zobrist's bouncer

Oddly enough, I stumbled across the game while sitting in a hotel room waiting for my wife to get ready for dinner and it was right around pitch 8 of that AB.

lies, you know you watched it from the go

Cubs are playing their best baseball.

Nah, but I did watch the 7th on of Thursday's game. Of course I was in a bar in Wisconsin and cheering on the Brew Crew with the soon to be disappointed natives.
I was up there for Summer Fest, Brew Crew was up 5 games then.........very cool baseball vibe with all the Milwaukee baseball swag, of course a couple brave souls gave me a hard time about my Cub hat.

The division is pretty much yours, but as a Brewer fan I just want to say what a hell of a series this has been. Back in aught 8 you guys weren't so good. In '11 not so much either. Last year we sucked you guys obviously did your thing. But now, this should be a fun rivalry for the foreseeable future. Especially if Antanasio opens up the wallet and gets a few more pieces. I mean, we're not even supposed to be here ;)

My young kids have learned a few new swear words but this has been one of the best most compelling regular season series I've ever watched. l don't want to say "best" because some Brewer awfulness gave you guys games 1 and 2 but I digress. Just wanted to throw some props your way beyond all the stupid fan talk.

I think though, we can all agree, #### the Cardinals :banned:
