***Chicago Cubs Thread*** (1 Viewer)

I am sincerely going to miss Jake. He worked very hard to revitalize his career, and was a rock with the team. That 2015 season was unreal. It felt like every start had the chance to be a no-hitter (I still have on my DVR the Sunday night ESPN no-hitter against the Dodgers).

If it wasn't for those wasted years in Baltimore, and Jake was just a little bit younger, I think he would still be a Cub.

The trade that brought him here ranks second to the Ryno for Ivan DeJesus swap.
He was great. Quotable, awesome beard, and he could dominate whenever he took the mound. I trust whatever Theo wants to do, but losing Jake is just like losing Dex for me. I knew it was coming, but I'm going to miss watching him all the time.

Favorite Jake moment was the 2015 Wild Card game.  He basically called his shot ahead of time in response to Pirates' fans going black out, and tweeted, "It isn't going to matter" or something similar.  8 shutout innings.

Last year, Zobrist looked just about kaput. He looks totally different this year. He's squaring up pitches, all of his outs have been deep flies. He's taking walks, and is flying around the basepaths.

I am hoping he has a Ryan Zimmerman type of revival.

Lets hope not. This is a big gap for them.

Dear Cubs broadcast team. Hearing Doug Glanville is enough. You don't need to cut to him each time something is coming out of his mouth.

I know they made Jake an offer and he turned it down, but I’d sure take what the Phillies gave him over Darvish.

The grass isn’t always greener.

Rizzo finally coming around. He’s started slow the last couple years.
