Choose my winter vacation destination (1 Viewer)

Looking for a Jan/Feb warm vacation destination to escape the NJ winter. I'm thinking 5 days/6 nights. I'm married with kids, but I'm looking to fly solo; long story though some of you may remember the train wreck that is my marriage. I like good food, but I'm don't want to spend a ton; so more on the value side. I want to spend time chilling on the beach or at the pool, but I also would like some physical activities to fill my day (not those kind although what happens on a solo winter getaway stays on a solo winter getaway); golf would be especially nice or something cool like cave kayaking. I don't care really about the guest makeup; doesn't matter if its couples, families etc. I'm thinking more of a resort so nothing in Florida. So what do you world travelers have for me?

Never been on a cruise. Not sure how I'd feel being cooped up on a cruise ship. Don't really care too much about the single scene. I don't really want to be caught up in some meat market. Primary objective is just to get out of the winter weather a couple of times this year.

Never been to Punta cana but hear great things. All inclusive type packages.

Bermuda is a shorter flight than Miami.

Golf, nice beaches, some scuba, jungle trips etc.

Go to a Sandals, all inclusive, butler service, Anguilla or Exhuma or Aruba, etc. Easy, fun, beautiful, excursions, great beaches, good food, on site sports pub, pools, golf, great picture backdrops, good stuff.

He doesn't want to break the bank. Sandals is pricey compared to other all inclusive resorts.

If you are looking for bang for your buck, you should look at the Cancun/Riveria Maya all inclusive resorts. Great values there.

I'm not much of a drinker. Would non-all inclusive be a better option?

Go to Carnival in Trinidad.

It's an awesome time filled with partying on the streets with scantily clad young women in costume. Some of whom may want to whine (grind) on you.

Carnival is February 8th and 9th this year. Go several days before the actual Carnival dates for the pre-Carnival festivities, and one beach day after to recover.

The American dollar goes a pretty long way in Trinidad, and the flight price isn't horrible.

Google "Carnival Trinidad Women Costumes" for more info.

Very nice. Chances of me getting abducted flying solo?
