Chris Brown Requests Trade from TEN (1 Viewer)

I had an owner offer me three 2nd round rookie picks in 2006 and E Shelton for Brown. Am I missing something? I rejected it but thought it was alot for a RB who could be in RBBC.
Brown looks like he can be a solid RB1 in this league, and probably be a middle of the pack. I suppose this guy believes Brown will be on the move and starting somewhere this season or next.Shelton is worth nothing ( ) and 2nd round rookie picks? ehh.... could be some value.

Seems about an even trade for the good chance Brown is moved (this year or next he'll surely be on the move).
I do not hold 2nd round (14 team league) picks very high. I would rather hold onto Brown and see if he is traded this year or next. If I am correct. Two years ago (Brown’s 2nd year in the NFL) he was leading the NFL in rushing after week 6 or 7, and then he got hurt. I think he does have the talent to be a good #1 RB in the NFL and solid #2 fantasy RB; he just needs to stay healthy. I thought I read he put on 15 to 20 pounds in the off-season. Is this true?

If he and his agents have their druthers, running back Chris Brown will return to Colorado. The former University of Colorado star has Denver at the "top of our list," one of his agents, Ryan Morgan said. Brown has requested to be traded by Tennessee, but Morgan said the Titans have denied the request thus far.

Methinks someone who alluded to Brown wanting the trade because he didn't like the idea of splitting time with a rookie might have hit the nail on the head.

any  :homer:   insight?
I think you were the first one to say it. Nice self-promotion.Depending upon ou each person's opinion of White's future, I am sure we all have our various thoughts about why Brown is looking for a trade.

I am sure the prospects of White are a factor in Brown's mind to some extent but ultimately it comes down to positioning with the front office given the timing of camp and his contract. Brown probably knows how much he gets hurt and wants a deal before he goes down again
Not quite. I was referring to JimmyD's post (in this thread). I don't think it will be RBBC in TEN. I think White carries the whole load, and Brown would just spell him. However, it was brought up that he might be equally disappointed if he saw RBBC, since he wanted to show he could be a feature back again this year and land a big paycheck, and RBBC with White wouldn't really let him do that.

I'm not sure of the accuracy of him wanting a deal because he fears injury. Quite the opposite. It seems like he wants a chance to prove he's not an injury risk, and in being a feature back for a full season, he can do that. It's hard to say "I'm not an injury risk" when you lose your starting job and are relegated to mop-up duties.

Someone explain to me all of this love for Brown to HOU? I do not see an intra-division trade happening here.

I agree, Brown knows that if he wants to get paid next year he better produce this year. That would mean featured back and goalline touches. If he has seen something out of Tenn coaches that even tinkers with the idea of using White or Henry in the redzone or even the dreaded RBBC where they each get a few different packages then Brown wouldn't be happy at all.

What does Chris Brown go for in a trade... what is he worth???
Are you asking in NFL terms or fantasy terms? In NFL terms he's hurt by the lateness of the year and also the fact that the market is flooded with good RB's. Most teams have two viable starters, it seems, with guys like Thomas Jones, Lee Suggs/William Green, Ladell Betts, Michael Thomas, etc. as #2's. Brown's also on a team that clearly doesn't need either him or Henry, so they have little bargaining power. Still, he's on his rookie contract which should be affordable cap-wise for someone, and he's had flashes of brilliance. I could see a team needing depth trading him for a 3rd rounder or maybe even a 2nd rounder potentially.

In fantasy terms, he's worth what it would take to draft a backup or RBBC RB, at the most. You have no idea how this will play out, but if he's in Tennessee, I have a tough time thinking that LenDale White won't get every opportunity to succeed.

I have a very hard time believing anyone is going to give a 2nd round pick for Brown, but stranger things have happened I suppose.

"Moving the Chains" on Sirius was just discussing Brown for Lelie and a variation involving a 3-way deal with Michael Lewis. Purely speculation on their part.Pat Kirwan's view on the biggest hurdles:

- Brown could be just positioning to sign a better long term deal

- Shanny really wants Lelie in the mix long-term because Walker is not known to be 100% yet and Smith is retiring soon.

- TEN would not want to give up RB depth

Is that just pure speculation? I have a hard time believing DEN would trade Lelie for Brown.I haven't heard anything from Lelie in a while... is he going to hold out of TC? I expect him there.

Pure speculation. They even half-jokingly said they would call Lelie's agent later today and mention the idea to him.

Titans RB Brown will report to camp

Associated Press

7/24/2006

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Titans running back Chris Brown will be in training camp on time for Tennessee, despite asking for a trade, one of his agents said Monday.

Ryan Morgan, who represents Brown with Wynn Silberman, officially requested a trade on July 17. Morgan said if another NFL team is interested in trading for Brown, he would be the last to hear about such interest.

The Titans hold their first practice for training camp Friday in Clarksville.

Morgan said Brown, who is heading into the final year of his contract and has been the Titans' starter the past two years, will be there.

"Chris is going to report," Morgan said. "It's never been a situation where he's not going to honor his contract."

Morgan said he has his opinion about Brown's opportunity to get plenty of work considering the crowded situation at running back. The Titans seem to have a different, which Morgan acknowledged.

Tennessee has plenty of running backs to choose from this season after drafting LenDale White out of Southern California in the second round. They traded for Travis Henry before last season, and he spent the offseason working himself into shape after recovering from an old ankle injury.

Also on the roster for training camp are Jarrett Payton, son of the late Walter Payton, Damien Bush and seventh-round draft pick Quinton Ganther.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Brown, a third-round draft pick out of Colorado in 2003, ran for 851 yards in 15 games in 2005, well ahead of the 335 yards for Henry, who was suspended for four games. Brown had 224 rushing attempts, only four more than he had in 2004 when he played four fewer games.

Brown ran for 1,067 yards, a 4.9-yard average, in 11 games as a starter in 2004. He put on some extra muscle this offseason to help his endurance.

Morgan said Brown, who tops the depth chart this season, is a feature running back.

"The plan is we stand by our request, but he's going to come in and play hard," Morgan said.

Does anyone else think that Mile High Stadium is the perfect fit for his upright running style?
Why? Do other stadiums have headroom problems?
Seeing how upright he runs I would venture a guess he can not make it any more than a quarter due to breathing severly lighter air than everyone else....

 You are not right in the head. I like that.

Personally, I like seeing the mad love slathered all over this bored for White.

Brown is going to be great value in redraft leagues.
