By itself it wouldn't be to bad, but 3 with an outstanding gun, narcotic, and DUI ongoing thrown on top of provideing alcohol to a 15 yr. old girl kicks it up a notch. I'm not a pro football player, but I was 23 once and I can certainly say there were times when I supplied alcohol to minors (Frat parties, New Year's, wedding parties, all kinds of stuff.) On the face of it, this is a pretty innocuous arrest just like the DUI where he was barely over the legal limit, but like kevinray said, it's the fact that all these arrests and charges are happening within such a close time frame that is just plain bizarre. How dumb can you be?You have to wonder if Henry needs major counseling or something, it's almost as if he's trying as hard as possible to throw his life away.

True, but it makes his 4th incident (the DUI, previously considered his 3rd incident) that much more inexcusable; i.e. If the guy knew he had a 3rd legal transgression in limbo, why would he drive drunk and face what would become a 4th? At this point, Chris Henry should not leave his house. In fact, he should start calling Simons Delivers if he starts running low on food while he's holed up, and he should hire someone responsible to greet/pay the delivery guy on his behalf. It may already be too late for him.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if prosecutors hadn't made a final decision to pursue charges for this prior act until word came out that he got a DUI, and they determined they simply can't look the other way on anything with this guy. I'm not saying I'm a huge fan of different treatment. You are absolutely right that the law is the law and in the grand scheme of things this is a petty violation which might not even be cited under certain circumstances. Yet, Chris Henry was not offering wine to his child in his home; he was renting a public party-pad and supplying booze. I've personally seen parents get off with a warning for hosting teen parties that get a little out of hand, but don't result in anything more than a small nuisance. OTOH, parents (and other party hosts) will almost always be cited legally to the charges Henry is facing when their actions result in a crime or vehicle accident (which to me is a better analogy to the Henry case, which involved accusation of criminal activity tied to the party). A guy trying to liquor up to score with underage chicks in a public motel should not expect any favorable "aw shucks, it's just like a parent having a glass of chiante with his kid over dinner" treatment, and frankly I do not believe he deserves any benefit of doubt or leniency. He should thank his lucky stars no one died in a car accident or (seemingly) actually fell victim to rape at a hotel party he was hosting.Finally, as to how society should judge Henry vs. a dad handing his son a beer over a family campfire, I'd analogize this to how the police might treat a speeder who has had no moving violation in the past 10 years vs. someone who has had 3 violations in the past 6 months. I'd suggest for the first guy it's not a big deal while the 2nd guy clearly has a problem following the law. Another analogy would be the 15 year old who is driving on rural roads with a parent vs. a 15 year old taking the car out alone without permission to hot-rod down mainstreet USA, putting lives at risk. It goes without saying unequal treatment may be applied in each of these situations, "unfairly" from one perspective and perfectly fairly from another. Perfectly applied discretion should result in justice and I think the public is smart enough to look at Henry's transgressions and decide if this guy is a societal problem.

I kind of agree. It seems like the same situation as the "forcible rape" one, with perhaps a prosecutor who wants to salvage some charge, any charge, out of it. Henry seems massively immature and irresponsible, though. That in itself isn't criminal, but he seems to act like age 16 or so.

There's also a big difference between a 23 year old college senior supplying alcohol to an 18 year old college freshman at a frat part and supplying alcohol to a FIFTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL under less open circumstances. Regardless of what hte law says, in the court of public opinion (which, sadly is sometimes valued more than our actual legal system), it's way different and way worse. Considering his prominence in the public eye and the importance of PR for NFL teams nowadays, it's even more absurd.

I agree with you guys who are blasting Henry for his conduct. He's a class A punk to say the least. But is he going to suffer significant legal and NFL consequences as a result of his conduct? I don't know. Other than substance abuse violators and punks like Lawrence Phillips, there are plenty of wayward young punks who turned it around. It seems like it is the RBs who are irredeemable.

Henry is young, very talented, and I'm not ready to write him off yet. No I don't own him in any leagues.

He certainly looks good as gone in Cincy. I can't say that's horrible for any potential value. He wasn't passing CJ or Housh anytime soon & I believe he had a 5-year deal. Someone will quickly snatch him up.

Henry has a very cap friendly contract, so dropping him will not hurt them. He is injured so that is why he hasn't been dropped by the Bengals yet, but he will be. I know tons of Bengals fans and they just want this headache gone. A few of them said they don't care as long as he helps them win, which amazes me because they are the same ones that were talking about how Marvin Lewis will not bring in trouble guys and will only add character to the team. Gotta love that character he is bringing to the team.
