The excuse makers need to jump on board the 'this guy sucks' bandwagon and save some face.the excuses makers should arrive soon . . .
cant see them getting much at this point . . . what would you give for him???Do Chris Johnson owners try to trade him for what they can at this point, or does the captain go down with his ship?
If I'm sitting strong at a certain position then I would consider giving up a good player sitting on my bench, but nothing more than a flex type of player. I had him on my do not draft list after I owned and traded him last season. It's clear that he hasn't been the same since he got paid.cant see them getting much at this point . . . what would you give for him???Do Chris Johnson owners try to trade him for what they can at this point, or does the captain go down with his ship?
Or when you dare bring up benching him for a waivewr wire pick up like Alfred Morris. "Always play your studs" and "You didn't draft CJ in the 1st round to bench him" stuff. I have no one to blame but myself for not having the guts to bench him. I will going forward until he is off my team. That is for sure.great post. I wish people qould quit making excuses for him. He has gotten paid and he is not willing to stick it inside and get the tough yards. He's not the only back with a bad Oline. It amazes me how many excuses is made for a guy just because he ran for 2000 three years ago.And why do you think this? Sounds like everyone has been saying this exact phrase for a year now and just your standard optimistic speech. We got burned on a first round pick. It sucks but what can you do.I do believe he'll bounce back next week, but I think it'll be awhile before we see a 100+ yard rushing performance.
You're not going to get much for him. His name still carries some weight, so I'm thinking RB3 range. Might as well hold and pray for better days.Is it even possible to trade the guy right now? With Forte as my first pick and CJ as my second my season outlook isn't too good.
I would like to trade for him. No one is selling.
I guess some of his owners don't expect much in return and would rather stick it out with him and hope he somehow turns it around. I would definitely be trying to move him if there was interest. There has to be at least one person in every league that still believes that he can at least be a solid rb2 and I would try to take advantage of that. You would think. But, no one is countering my offers so, "no one is selling" in my cases. I'm showing interest.I would like to trade for him. Just out of curiosity and to kind of get a sense of his value, what did you offer that was turned down? You would think. But, no one is countering my offers so, "no one is selling" in my cases. there's no upside to sell at an absolute bottom like this. What is someone going to offer me? a WR3? I mean his value has gone from a fairly consensus late first to second round pick to a 12th round pick in just 2 weeks.I'd like to see historically if there are many instances of NON-INJURY/NON-AGE collapses like this? It's a fairly unique case.I've seen plenty of drop-offs easily explained by age and injury, but to see a guy go from uber-stud to total fraud is somewhat unique.I would like to trade for him. No one is selling.
I offered a RB2 and a WR prospect with some vet draft picks. May not have thought it would get accepted but if there was interest in moving, possibly some talk to go with it.Offered a RB prospect/handcuff but have not heard back yet.Just out of curiosity and to kind of get a sense of his value, what did you offer that was turned down? You would think. I agree and I'm tired of defending him for a stinky OL. That probably is true, probably has a bottom 5 QB at the moment, but whatever the reasons he just cannot get on track.I'm totally speechless on this guy.
Too muchNo way anyone offers a RB1 or WR1, right? I'd say RB2 and some kind of prospect would be a good starting point, no?
If that is too much, then there is no trading for the guy. Expecting more than the above is not going to happen, right?Too muchNo way anyone offers a RB1 or WR1, right? I'd say RB2 and some kind of prospect would be a good starting point, no?
Actually I guess it depends on your team and what you are looking for. I wouldn't give an RB2 for him. But that's probably a good place to start if you value him.If that is too much, then there is no trading for the guy. I sent inquires to both. Not sure if I will hear back though. The caliber of player that is going to get traded is RB2 quality with a prospect. Maybe RB3 and a prospect. Not sure what more I would want to surrender to take on the risk that is Chris Johnson.Actually I guess it depends on your team and what you are looking for. I wouldn't give an RB2 for him. I'm benching him. I'd rather miss out on a big game and be happy I may still be able to salvage something than plug a 0 into my lineup each week. I may actually root against him if he's on my bench. I'm that bitter. The good:
CJ has fresh legs
The bad:
CJ is not being given any opportunity here. This team just stinks. O Line, D Line. It's just terrible.
Nobody is going to bench this guy right? You didn't draft him to bench him. You knew he was a light switch when you drafted him. He's a light switch in both FF and the NFL, and when you bench him his RB1 numbers are going to be meaningless.
If he's given 20-25 carries in a game, and he still sucks, bench him. Until then you gotta give him the benefit of the doubt.
I wouldn't surrender too much. But like I said if you still think he has value then probably a low or mid RB 2 is an okay place to start. Good luck.I sent inquires to both. I'm the guy who had spiller so i'm absolutely benching him.Frankly, since he was drafted as my RB2 in the 2nd round in a start 1 RB + 1 Flex league, it's going to take more than just ONE outburst game to get me to trust him in the lineup again.I'm treating him as if he tore his ACL until proven otherwise.it's that bad. I won't cut him because I've seen guys have monster seasons after having horrific first few weeks (read: priest Holmes 2001, MJD last year to a lesser extent), but until I see something that looks a hell of a lot better there's no good reason to start someone who sucks.guy had 4 games where he was worth starting last year.. maybe 5.. the other 11-12 games you would've been better off with a lot of other guys.Year before it was 8 games.I don't know which 4 games he'll be good in this year vs. the ones where he produces nothing... so i'd much rather have some dude who at least got me 6-10 points in there so it's not a total whole.Nobody is going to bench this guy right?
Thats right. The team isnt giving him the opportunity. 9 carries is nothing. When he gets a decent amount of atempts and the team isnt trailing by 20 we'll get a better picture. I think some folks expect him to run 20+ yards on every play. The good:

I'm sure you would. That sounds like way too much to give up for Johnson.I'm a Johnson and Foster owner (dynasty for the smart ###es) I'd gladly trade him for Tate and someone like Eric Decker
