It would be nice if all parties involved just toned it down a bit.

Detroit Revival posted an interesting Twitter quote from Jerry Jones to Clarence Hill and it was lost to most everyone in the noise.

While I agree there has been some morons in here I don't get the hater label. Being realistic and trying to temper the expectations of over enthusiastic Michael owners is not being a hater.

No the haters are the ones who have not vested interest in Michael. They don't own him. Yet they come on here to spread doom and gloom. A fairly sad existence actually.

JFC...I don't think I've posted 200 times in all threads combined this week, and I spend a lot of time in the FFA.
This thread has been around for more than 2 1/2 years...

Now that is a post that hit the bullseye
Not really zing. I have been an owner and a non-owner of Michael and I have been tempering expectations consistently from the get go. And I don't even know how being an owner translates into additional credibility on the subject of a player (oh that's because it doesn't). I am sure every single person who is active in a fantasy league makes posts in threads about players they don't own (you too zing), probably because they want to find out information about said player to see if they are worth owning.

This thread just seems to have devolved into a bunch of people wanting so badly to be right that they have become increasingly hyperbolic and, sadly, vitriolic as they continue to speculate on Michael's potential outcomes. I'm all down for some good natured back-and-forth but this has really become nothing more than a political debate with everyone pushing their own platform.

And the real shame is that when an actual piece of relevant information comes out like the Clarence Hill tweet of Jerry Jones' comment that Michael will probably be inactive again this week and how he is happy with Randle and DMac was barely noticed because many people didn't notice it through all this back and forth.

buddy of mine went to college with joe randle. played beer pong with him a couple times when he came to visit during the summer. nice guy, despite all his issues. anyhoo, I ended up with Randle in a couple leagues. didn't really want him just fell too far and had to pull the trigger. hit my buddy up to see what was going on after a lackluster first two weeks. apparently Randle was pretty pissed that they traded for CMike in the first place. said it showed a lack of confidence in him. he is a very fragile dude. wasn't nuts about the McFadden acquisition either but got over that one (he said McFadden is a ##### anyway and wouldn't be able to stay on the field). but the CMike stuff really rubbed him the wrong way, so he has been tanking and I guess the coaching staff got wind of it. long story short, it's sounding like CMike time starts this week. he was a FA in one of my leagues, I just used $69 of my $100 FAAB budget on him. waivers run at noon today, will keep u all posted.

this is absolutely huge if true.
CMike is a far more talented beer pong player.

Yeah, I fully expected Jerry too Speak up!

"Its two games into the Season, I cant believe the two RB(s) my staff decided to present to the Fans.. It looks like Stiff and Stiffer out there.."

" Oh wait,, Were 2-0? Yeah these two RB's are doing the work.. Im shocked ya havnt noticed Dunbar too.. I will let the Coach talk to ya about our backfield.. "

Jerry wouldn't be shy about saying the team needs more production from their RBs. Because Jerry isn't shy about saying anything.

The more relevant line was that he apparently said Michael will be inactive again this week because they don't want to carry 4 RBs on their game day 46.

Michael is an interesting hold but really shouldn't be rostered in most non-dynasty formats.

This, but I'm sure the Michael pushers have seen that tweet, they just want to ignore it because it doesn't fit their narrative, just like they've ignored/spun all sorts of negative info. in here. It's comical how they think they are acting any better than those they consider haters.

I own Michael in a redraft, knowing full well that he's an end of bench lottery ticket who is more likely to be worthless than he is to make me rich. That's called reality, not being a hater.

Thanks but my larger point was that I hoped comments like the bolded would just go away. They don't help...actually they incite others to entrench even further and respond in kind or worse.

Right or wrong (and like most subjective things it's probably a little of both) it isn't being excellent.

I think he's worth holding in any format with benches deep enough to roster a few lottery ticket types. Come the end of the season, Romo and Dez will be back, and IMO it's fairly likely that the RB situation is more defined, and hopefully the line will be playing more like it did last season. Fully agree that in most redraft formats where your bench spots need to be used to cover byes / injuries he is a waste of space. Michael might pay redraft dividends, but it will be later in the year -- the people thinking that he should be doing something right now are the one's kidding themselves IMO.

There will be something interesting coming down the wire regarding cmike from practice today.

From Mike Fisher

@fishsports: #Cowboys fans, hang tight. Scoopage on @Cmike33 + @KellenMoore_11 comin up in a bit ...

This is from about 1 hr ago

I think we actually agree. I think you are assuming you are being called a hater and I personally don't include you. I have no problem with well thought out counter points...it actually helps me establish/re-establish my position. The problem is the stupid non value add posts as well as the repeated posts. For example we all know he was traded for a 7th, we dont need to hear it as a response to every pro-Cmike post.

I am going to stop calling these people haters, because some are haters and some are pro CMike....the more accurate title for these people is "Brain dead idiots"

The other thing I think we agree on is.....Please Please Please people...let's just stop the bs and get to the news. If there isnt news, don't post.

I promise this will be my last post that isnt news or a response to new news.
I don't think you have been calling me personally a hater, but thank you for clarifying. I am just tired of the back and forth when most of us come here to find out news about the guy. And right now Detroit Revival seems to be the only one bringing it so I would like to clear up space for him too. So it seems that we are on the same page with that.

And it's okay, IMO, to let people know that their posts are not really helpful I just wish people would do it while also trying to be excellent.

I think this has crossed over to ####### in the Shark Pool.
Yes it has.

Knock off the insults folks. That includes calling people haters. Either contribute something positive to the discussion about football, or don't post.

Knock off the post bumping and deleting to be at the top of the page.

A dozen people just got timeouts. Expect their length to quickly escalate if it doesn't stop.

FWIW: Skip Bayless intimated CMike would be available this week in ATL. He said, "Joseph Randle will run it down the Falcons' throats. And Christine Michael who was traded from Seattle, he's a bruiser man, and he will run it down their throats..."

I was like wtf? You telling me CMike's gonna be active in Atlanta?

Me thinks Skip knows something we don't.

Skip Bayles is pretty much worthless as an analyst

I have Cmike only left in 1 redraft league. that has a long bench and the wire is bare.

Oh I know but he's an outspoken Dallas diehard so I'm assuming he has some insider status there. And the CMike story isn't worthy for him to "break" it to the public. Is it possible someone told him, "We expect Randle to explode in Atlanta but we're bringing CMike with us just in case - he's been great in practice"?

Personally I think it will play at like this... Weeden struggles this week and Atlanta Wins while Randle/McFadden/Dunbar struggle... Less struggle from Dunbar on third down but Randle and McFadden get a chance to prove that they are in fact not difference makers

Wk 4 Michael is active and gets a few reps in the game prolly at McFaddens expense... Depending on how he performs he could carve out a role but I believe Randle will out snap him at least before the bye week. Who knows after that...

Barring an injury I see that as a best case scenario. If Randle does not struggle this week then CM will be dropping from the sky onto waiver wires all across the land.

If Randle or McFadden gt hurt OR Dallas shows nothing and gets blown out by Atlanta then the rumor mill is on!
