Updating previous reports, Indianapolis Colts TE Dallas Clark (knee) is not on the team's Week 3 injury report. Clark took part in a full practice Friday, Sept. 19, and is expected to start during Week 3.

Downgrade Anthony Gonzalez a little. This news will make me decide to replace Gonzolez with either Ray Rice or DeSean Jackson. Uptick for Manning to get Saturday and Clark back.

I would have started Jackson in front of him already anyway.I think Gonzo will have less targets and receptions this week but will get a TD.

Just looked up Dallas Clark's history vs. the Jags....

Last year in their 2 meetings he had 11 catches, 126 yards & 3 TD's. :lmao:

That's an average of 5.5/63/1.5

In 2006 he only faced them once and caught one 30 yard pass for a TD.

That's a mistake. A-Gonz's emergence has nothing to do with Dallas Clark's health and everything to do with Marvin Harrison's decline.

Actually I think the Colts 39 rushing yds. per game blows both of those reasons out of the water.

Saying that is has NOTHING to do with Clark's health is completely ridiculous. Any coach worth his salt would play a lot more 3 WR sets with Clark and Jacob Tamme hurt - and would put Gonzalez on the field more and rookie TE Tom Santi less.

Santi still had 8 targets and 5 catches last week, he must have been out there quite a bit.

Question: If Gonzalez goes off again this week does he become a must start? I know there are those who are considering him as such already (PPR) but I'm just not convinced yet.

JMO, but Gonzalez became a must-start the day Marvin Harrison got involved in that bar fight/shooting.

Gonzo is the true #2 in Indy now. Regardless if Dallas Clark is in or not.
As a Gonzo owner I think we need to see one more week of 5+ catches before we can say this for sure. With that said I am starting him this week.

Over who?

Harrison or Clark for sure.

I think that they will continue to try to force feed the ball to Harrison. Harrison might get decent numbers just because the Colts are too stubborn to get Gonzo more involved until Harrison finally gets shown the bench.

Sorry, I misunderstood your question. I'm starting him over Vincent Jackson.
