Clash Royale- New Time Waster (1 Viewer)

Hmmm... I just got my first 2 barbarian cards. But I think I'm better off using my lvl5 knight until I can upgrade the barbs high enough to justify the 5 elixir cost right?
trying to figure this out too. they offer a decent meatshield that's about it

seems like they should cost 4

 
Barbs are an always card for me. Can't imagine going back to the knight. Knight can't stop a swarm for ####. If going cheap bomber is the call.

 
It seems like some lvl 1 troops are worthless.  Witch, knight, etc.  I would go with anything that is leveled up higher.

 
I'm starting to get freeze & looned quite a bit.  Seems like they always carry a witch in that deck as well.

 
Swapped out Knight/Rocket for Barbs/Spear Goblins. Frankly realized the Rocket kill shot rarely happens. +2 Elixir gain with the swap out.

Current deck: Barbs/Spear Goblins/Baby Dragon/Skeleton Army/Fireball/Giant/Musketeer/Prince

 
The rocket takes too long for me to keep in my deck.  I'd rather take fireball.  However, I have been hit by it effectively a few times.  Half the time it is to finish off a tower, but a few times it was on troops.  Talk about squashing an offensive fast.

 
some of the MUSTS ive been seeing in higher level decks,

im currently level 4 and will get matched with 6's often:

giant / prince / barb / dragon / musketeer

and the last 3 are totally random

im using goblin barrel spear goblins and valk

agree, love my lvl6 barbs but they need to drop them down to 4 instead of 5. Swapped fireball for arrows, quicker build and stops a swarm/spearchuckers/minions in their tracks.

Just got witch tho, thinking of switching her in for drag.

Which one would you buy to upgrade?  Drag, Loon, or Witch?

I think low level witch is overrated 

 
I wouldn't buy anything till someone on reddit or somewhere come along and does all the math.  There are likely break points where at certain levels it makes way more sense to have certain leveled cards.  

Early on clearly overleveled giants make a major difference

At level 6 seems like you need to pick one push troop and level the #### out of it.  The choice isn't all that important if in a hurry, but surely someone will spot the exploit and fan it out soon.  I see people with L3 Drags at Level 6, for example.  Seen high leveled loons, knights, etc.  

If I had to drop coin today I'd spend it all on tesla upgrade.

At least at lower levels, Barbs plus Barb Hut and Goblin huts is really tough for the opponent to counter especially if you throw a Prince in there.  Now granted a Giant chest gifted me a Level 4 Barb Hut and Level 5 Barbs, but even with the high cost, they pretty much mop up anything on the ground.  The only thing they really have problems with are Dragons or when your bum rushed early in the game.

For now yeah.

I've been messing with

Barb/Spear/Arch/Tesla as my core

And some combo of: Loon/Minswarm/skele/barrell/drag/rocket/bomber/prince/arrows

Confident the core 4 I have is the right approach. Haven't really gotten a handle on the right combo of the rest.

I got a barb hut, but at 7 elixir, I haven't put it in my deck. Does any card cost more than 7?

Depends on my initial 4 cards. If I have a hut, I usually drop it and then wait and react to whatever he throws down. If I don't have a hut, I wait until I get full elixir and drop a low-elixir unit until they play something.

k sounds like what ive been doing. I notice if you invest too much too quickly they'll just counter and pwn a tower

Is the bomb tower worth using? When my opponent drops on on their side of the water, I use a musketeer to kill it with no damage to me. Seems like a cannon is more useful for ground defense.

It's amazing how the "wait for the first guy to make a move" strategy has already ingrained itself for every player. I have stared down other players for up to 10 seconds with full elixir for both before making a move.

Depending on my cards, I drop Giant/Musketeer as soon as my elixir hits 9, let the other player react to that and drop the Prince on the other side as soon as I hit 5 elixir. Odds are he didn't defend strong enough on the giant and I have damage on a tower there, or he defended too strong and the Prince has killed his tower and heading into the king.

Yeah, I've basically dropped cups just to stop seeing so many of them.  It's just a waste of 3 minutes of my time.  If you don't have an immediate counter it's rip.  I still don't have one.

I've been just getting trashed lately by people that run nothing but ranged dps and swarm type stuff with a volley.  They seem content to just hang on until 1:00 and take one more crown than whatever you have. 

 
They have a fairly long drop time so my strategy is to put down a bomber/archers/musket down on my side of the water ASAP and try to take it out while its booting up. If I don't happen to have a ranged card handy though I'm usually screwed. 
Still trying to figure them out, you need something to run interference while they build up but when they do it's a thing of glory.

I get it that you can drop 20 bucks and it's your money, but at least in Clash you wouldn't have situation where a TH9 hits you with Max Hounds or a Warden or something.  

 
Thanks for the advice about just gemming the chest times Scott. Has been paying off significantly. Much better than buying chests.

Levels dont mean much. If you dont donate or upgrade much, you wont increase. Levels and troop level are not sympatico

 
How's freeze? Worth 2000 gold to unlock?
It's pretty powerful with certain offenses (goblin barrel, hogs, prince, and balloon). Drop down one of them then freeze when they drop down their defensive troops, also freezing their tower. 

Can also be used as a defensive tool when nothing else is ready. Freeze their troops while your tower takes them down. Best used on offense though, imo.

 
Levels dont mean much. If you dont donate or upgrade much, you wont increase. Levels and troop level are not sympatico
Exactly. At Arena 6 and 7 I see level 6's with same level troops as me. I'm currently level 8. They may have donated less, they may have bought certain troops at the store, or may have just been lucky and got alot of one troop. 

 
I had to boot a few accounts that seemed inactive. We are full now. If someone wants in, post here and ill remove other inactive accounts.

Does the list restart after 240?

So it looks like after the rebalance that the top-level guys just try for 1-0 victories with rockets, mortars, and a bunch of other defense?  The other thing is a lot of them seem to have Pekka.  Granted I only have him at level 2, but I have a hard time getting him to work. 

 
Somebody posted in chat (think rascal or acer) that the #3 guy used nothing but common cards so I switched out my decks this weekend to give it a whirl. It's been pretty successful, goblin hut is money.

 
It's getting a little stale to me. I only really find myself now playing when I can actually get cards and chests and stuff.  I'm not really seeing much progress. Games are ending in draws or are cheezy little rocket blaster guys with hut spam that are content to win 1-0 and then just park back with an inferno or something.  That and the now seemingly everywhere Hog+freeze guys.  

It had promise, but you look at the distance between where I am and where the very top end gameplay is it's a nearly insurmountable divide.  It's not like COC where you could directly build out things that actually matter, here you just have to either wait and get lucky or pay.  

Those that don't have the foresight to be in a clan that will feed you common cards like a whore gets crank is also at a big disadvantage.  So it's been nice to juice up some of my deck with donations.

Kinda where I'm at. I go on runs of success and then lose or ####### draw 15 in a row. Draws kill this game, gotta have a winner so you get something for your trouble. If it takes hours to win 10 crowns people are going to lose interest quick if they haven't already. You also need to dial down the wait period for crown chests to 10 or 12 hours, 24 is too long. Actually, everything is too long. Card requests should be 4 times a day, cards need to be better distributed instead of just loading you up with #### you don't ever use. The matching making needs tweaked as well. Also need more gold/gems for donations, everything should at least be doubled.

I do like the fast pace of the game. You can rip off 3 battles in 10 minutes to fill time, move on and not have to worry about losing any gains. Also like the friendly battles although I never participate.

 
Im not uninstalling but everything beer says is spot on. It just takes too long. And of course, that is what they want. But if it becomes a grind bc you dont get what you need, people will bail. It's too bad, because I love the game. All about strategy as long as you and opponent are fairly level in troops. I would like to see a winner based on percentage. Would also like to see a more scaled cup system. No reason to go for three if you have one down and play d. You get the same thing. 

Worm said you should be able to trade cards. Love the idea. Donating and trading is not the same. Like old school topps  Hey, I have 900 cannons, you want them for two princes. Something like that. But wont happen bc they cant control it

top 4 players decks:

#1:  barbs, arrow, bomber, minion horde, tombstone, rocket, inferno, xbow

#2: Mortar, minion horde, archer, skel, arrow, inferno, rocket, princess

#3: cannon, tesla, skel, arrow, spears, musketeer, elixir, xbow

#4: cannon, goblin, spears, inferno, fireball, hogs, baby drag, lightning

Looked at #15....

barbs, goblins, minions, minion horde, wiz, elixir, hog, freeze...think I'll put in my ice wizard for freeze and see how this works for me.  Having a hard time finding a deck to use him
