So from recovering from the flu, installed yesterday. Played... quite a bit and still enjoying it. Currently at lvl 4 and in Arena 3. I know I was supposed to lose trophies to stay in current arenas, but I played a ton while waiting on chests, because, well I enjoyed playing and I hate losing on purpose in any game. I just couldn't do it. I was just cussing how I must be the only person without a prince, but low and behold my gold chest I opened this morning had one.
Current deck I'm running:
Giant Skeleton - Love this guy. Big tank, stops pretty much all the tower killer units I run into (Mini Pekka, Prince). Can single handedly take out a tower on his own. One of my best anti AOE as well. Bomb is devastating.
Mini-Pekka - Before I got prince, Skeleton + Pekka was easily my best way to drop a tower fast. One of my favorite Anti Giant cards as well.
Arrows - Love this card. Well placed arrows wreck opposing armies. Tried fireball for awhile, but vastly preferred the area range of Arrows. Especially vs skeleton bomb thing
Musketeer - Love this chick. I can place here everywhere and she holds her own. Next to Pekka, my other high single target dps unit.
Minions - Cheap, fast, tons of dps. Helps against the big baddies (Skeletons, Giants, Prince, Pekkas etc)
Goblin Spear Throwers - Another crucial part of my deck. Cheap, swarm, high dps units. Throw em in the middle and draw the opposing units itno the center to have to clear all three while the towers beat on em. Do quite a bit of dps on their own.
Goblins - Again, just another cheap defensive unit. Help swarm opposing players tower killers.
Prince - Just added him this morning. But fits my strategy pretty well, pretty glad to finally have him. Was using Valkerie here.
My overall strategy, that seems to be pretty successful is to drop the expensive/tower killer units in the opposite lane of where they initially drop and then use cheap fillers to stop their push. I tend to be pretty aggressive with my Skeletons/Pekkas/Prince while saving my cheap units for defense.
Only time I'm really struggling is vs just vastly higher level players/cards. Although I'm also limited to what I'm facing against, and havn't seen a lot of what combos I often see people complaining about, so I'm sure I'll have to adjust here shortly.
I reallly wanted to like the barbarians, but at 5, they were just too expensive, and I never really struggle against them when people use them. Often if I see someone drop a barbarian squad I immediately throw a lane pusher on the other side and then use some of my range, cheap dps to stop them dead by luring them into the middle.
