i figured she named her after Louis Braille....
Love the couple, but dont think the uncultured jagoffs have stepped outside the province in their lives...

So doubt they even know what Braille or, and definitely not who Louis Braille is.

I came across a cheerleading group (or maybe it was a band or a swim team, I don't know) at lunch a few weeks ago. They all had on matching jackets with their name on it. One girl was named...............Allegra. Allegra!! like the allergy medication!

Juniper's gonna have a hard time in high school when all the variants of the "trimming the Juniper bush" jokes start coming in.

I think you guys are way overreacting to the bullied in high school cause of their name thing. Look at the top baby name lists and you don't see many traditional Steve and Bob or Jane or Mary on there.

or the Italian word.

been around a long time- I grew up with a couple of them. unusual I guess... but named after the allergy medication? no.

since my son was born 8 years ago, I've only met two boys named Michael.

There were 3 on my sons soccer team

My infant daughter is Theodora. Is that acceptable nowadays? It's an old school Greek name and we will likely call her Thea for short.

Call her Dora while she's in the early grade school years. She'll be popular with the other kids. Likely won't last though. Unless she goes to school with a bunch of Greek kids.

Generally I'm a fan of one or two syllable names, but I've got nothing bad to say about Theodora. I like.

ETA: Thea is great, and it's cool for your daughter to have Dora in her hip pocket.
