Nathan Peterman to the yellow courtesy phone...32 backup jobs in the NFL. Not sure if he can beat out the likes of guys like this.

What a joke of a human being this clown is. Oh, now he wants to work for a bunch of slave owners as he called them."Colin Kaepernick says he's willing to be backup QB if an NFL team will give him shot at returning"
Turns out - the NFL isn't as much like a slave ship as once thought.
More of a cruise ship - maybe not the Celebrity Cruise Line, but definitely Carnival-esque.
Amazing what principles are compromised when you need money. What a joke of a human being this clown is. Oh, now he wants to work for a bunch of slave owners as he called them.

Raiders owner Mark Davis says he'd be willing to bring in Colin Kaepernick if the coach and GM want to.
Free agent QB Colin Kaepernick will work out for the Raiders Wednesday.
Raiders owner Mark Davis has been vocal in his support of Kaepernick, and he's backing up his words by having his team at least take a look at the 34-year-old who hasn't played a snap since he was blackballed by the league following the 2016 season. Jarret Stidham and Nick Mullens are Derek Carr's current backups.

Yeah, don't get it at all. 6 years out of the league, 34 years old & not good when he was done. Just go away already. Is this guy still a thing? Hasn’t he worked out for several teams already?
I could be wrong, but hasn’t this played out before? Maybe none of those were serious.I"m glad he finally got a tryout with a team one way or another.
What do you mean by before and none of the other?I could be wrong, but hasn’t this played out before? Maybe none of those were serious.
He had "tryouts" that the NFL staged, but none of it was like a normal player. This is like a normal guy trying out for a team.I could be wrong, but hasn’t this played out before? Maybe none of those were serious.
Put another way I don't think an individual team has tried him out or brought him into their facility since he left the league. He had "tryouts" that the NFL staged, but none of it was like a normal player. This is like a normal guy trying out for a team.
of course you don’t get it, maybe you should go away alreadyYeah, don't get it at all. 6 years out of the league, 34 years old & not good when he was done. Just go away already.
Not every starting NFL QB has been GOOD, but go on...it’s funny to see all the haters of this guy because of the stance he took. there are very few people in the world who have been a starting quarterback in the nfl, let alone those that started multiple games as the starting quarterback and led their teams to wins. 34 is not old for a quarterback anymore
i mean, carolina and houston would probably love to sign him at this pointNot every starting NFL QB has been GOOD, but go on...
This place is drowning in boomers. Shocking to hear this with that avatarHe wasn't good when playing and that was 5 years ago. His age doesn't matter but 5 years of being out of the NFL is huge.
If he was good to begin with... he would never have stopped playing. Even if he was an average starter he would have had a team give him a contract 100%.
Takent wise, when he started, it looked like he had promise but instead of getting better he regressed. His accuracy is not NFL level and not even back up level.
No one wants drama from a back up QB and no one wants drama from a back up that isn't any good.
eh, at 46 i’ve now been here for 23 years and it’s the same as day oneThis place is drowning in boomers. I'm 43, but somehow on here i'm a young pup that doesn't tolerate the thinly veiled comments among the elderly.
C’mon. I’m a GenX-er. This place has all ages. This place is drowning in boomers. I'm 43, but somehow on here i'm a young pup that doesn't tolerate the thinly veiled comments among the elderly.
If being born in 1970 makes you a millennial then me being born in 1979 i guess makes me Gen Z. I mean your birth date is right in your profile. GTFO.C’mon. I’m a millennial.
Wait, I’m a GenX-er.If being born in 1970 makes you a millennial then me being born in 1979 i guess makes me Gen Z. I mean your birth date is right in your profile. GTFO.
If he gets a real shot and it doesn't work out, at least we can collectively move on from these football related items that seem to put him back in the news cycle periodically. I'm pretty neutral on the guy but it does seem he's gotten a lot of run out of what he may or may not be able to do (still do) on the field.C’mon. I’m a GenX-er. This place has all ages.
@Chadstroma wasn’t being unfair in his assessment. I’m a Niner fan, and Kaep wasn’t good his last season+
He never quite developed a touch pass, but he could run like a gazelle.
That said, I genuinely want to see him play just to see if he can play.
Kaep is almost more known for his social justice actions than his play on the field at this point, and it’s fair to question whether someone 5 years out of the game has skills enough to step on an NFL field and perform.
I hope he gets a chance.
Yes, because they have been beating down his door to sign him up to this point.i mean, carolina and houston would probably love to sign him at this point
Would you feel better if my avatar had 59.8% on it?Shocking to hear this with that avatar
Mills has shown himself to be a better QB already.i mean, carolina and houston would probably love to sign him at this point
Accurate. If he gets a real shot and it doesn't work out, at least we can collectively move on from these football related items that seem to put him back in the news cycle periodically. I'm pretty neutral on the guy but it does seem he's gotten a lot of run out of what he may or may not be able to do (still do) on the field.
Mills is nowhere near better than super bowl era Kaepernick.Mills has shown himself to beva better QB already.
Exactly. This is why I said in an earlier post I'm glad he's getting a tryout one way or the other. If he gets a real shot and it doesn't work out, at least we can collectively move on from these football related items that seem to put him back in the news cycle periodically. I'm pretty neutral on the guy but it does seem he's gotten a lot of run out of what he may or may not be able to do (still do) on the field.
Good! I hope he gets another shot in the league, he was fun to watch play!Breaking on 95.7![]()
Colin Kaepernick‘s tryout went “extremely well“, according to sources.
Based on who he’s got to beat out for the backup gig, if he doesn’t get it, he’s unlikely to ever play again, IMO.Good! I hope he gets another shot in the league, he was fun to watch play!
If he does come back, I doubt he is going to be signing a 5 year contract to backup Carr. Most likely will be a 1 year deal to try to parlay into trying to beat out lesser possible less competition in another city on another team down the road.Based on who he’s got to beat out for the backup gig, if he doesn’t get it, he’s unlikely to ever play again, IMO.
Muhammad Ali was despised for his conversion to Islam and the stance he took against Vietnam War and induction into the draft. Didn't fight for 3 1/2 years. When he came back he wasn't the same fighter. He couldn't slip punches as before and began taking punishment. One of his skills now became apparent in that he could take a punch. But all those punches and fights resulted in brain damage.it’s funny to see all the haters of this guy because of the stance he took. there are very few people in the world who have been a starting quarterback in the nfl, let alone those that started multiple games as the starting quarterback and led their teams to wins. 34 is not old for a quarterback anymore
I grew up in the 60s and 70s and resented Ali for refusing to fight in the Vietnam war. Now he is not only one of my favorite athletes of all time, he is one of my favorite men of all time. I didn’t approve of Kaepernick’s method of protest (could have chosen a better platform instead of disrespecting those who died to give him that right to protest), but I agree with his right to protest and I hope he gets a real chance at a comeback. If he’s not good enough, OK, but he deserves a chance.Muhammad Ali was despised for his conversion to Islam and the stance he took against Vietnam War and induction into the draft. Anyway glad Colin K. is getting another shot. I'd bet he's better than the Chase Daniels, David Bloughs and Tim Boyles who are getting paid millions to sit on the bench and flop when they get into a game. Being out of the game for so long though it would be difficult to become a starter again.
I don’t want to re-litigate this, but this was the myth that the right wingers created as deflection from what he was doing. Red meat for the already angry.I didn’t approve of Kaepernick’s method of protest (could have chosen a better platform instead of disrespecting those who died to give him that right to protest), but I agree with his right to protest and I hope he gets a real chance at a comeback. The idea for his protest originated with a veteran Green Beret (and teammate) named Nate Boyer. It is a fact that Kaep’s protest did nothing to disrespect the flag, nor those who died in service of our country. The time he chose to protest was pre-game, during the anthem, as that was when all eyes were on him (and those who joined him) and didn’t distract from the game on the field. Protesting when No one is watching doesn’t do much to raise awareness.
Whether people do or do not support Kaep’s cause, the reality is the protest was the inspiration of a United States military veteran. I’m glad to learn that your opinion of him has evolved - I only hope more people come to understand why it’s important.

but again, this is more for the politics forum.
To have a better team if a starter is injured, and have most qualified individual in the job.If you have to point out it belongs in the politics forum, DON"T POST IT HERE.
You also struggle to understand facts verse opinion in your post.
About Kap. I want him to get every chance to play in the NFL. If there is any blackballing at all it's wrong and should be called out. My opinion is he isn't good enough at this point to be a backup, maybe a 3rd stringer, but what is the upside for a team bringing him in as a 34 year old 3rd stringer.
I don't run a team so we don't have to worry about this, but I would prefer some upside after my starter goes down. Either my team is really good or really sucks. I don't want a mediocre backup. To have a better team if a starter is injured, and have most qualified individual in the job.
That's all the Colts have had for decades. I hope Foles changes that.I don't run a team so we don't have to worry about this, but I would prefer some upside after my starter goes down. Either my team is really good or really sucks. I don't want a mediocre backup.
I actually think the Colts backups minus Brissett have been bottom of the barrel for decades. That's all the Colts have had for decades. I hope Foles changes that.
