RB Bhayshul Tuten, JAX (1 Viewer)

because my understanding is that Skattebo isn't considered a receiving threat whereas that is a known strength for Tuten.

I have not scouted either of these guys super closely but this statement is a bit shocking to me.

Skattebo was among the leaders in college football last year in receiving by RBs, both in terms of volume and efficiency.

Meanwhile Tuten's receiving efficiency last year was among the worst in college football history. Granted he was better in prior seasons (good in his D2 years, mediocre in his first year at VT), but last year was so bad I had to double check with multiple sources to make sure it wasn't a typo.

Skattebo was 1st in all of college football in YPRR last year. I can't find the exact numbers on Tuten with targets, but just based on what he did with his actual catches he may have been dead last.
yeah I got my wires crossed, I copped to it above

Tuten caught 91 balls for just under 900 yards throughout college. But yeah I had Skattebo wrong.

Yes but most of those yards were in D2. I'm not sure if it's something with Virginia Tech's scheme or what, but in D1 his receiving metrics were poor. 2024 in particular, 3.5 yards per CATCH on 20+ catches is something I've never seen before. It was almost more believable that they left off a zero via typo but it was in fact correct.

I did choose Tuten twice over Skateboo. I like the situation much better. Maybe I should have split the difference here, but I went with the high upside player.

Plus my guy JJ Z has this guy fairly high and he’s come through in the past for me. So that was my roll of the dice.

Went at 1.11 in my league and based on the comments most teams were looking to snag him. Lots of fantasy hype about him. He does have some warts running inside and with ball security.

Feel lucky to pick him up at 2.09 in my 12 Team ppr draft

And then I get an offer for the 4.07 for him!! o_O
Seriously? There has to be more to this. I can't see someone offering 4.07 straight up for a player just taken at 2.09. He must have meant to include more.

Mayhaps he just offered up garbage to get the trade talks started? He expected a counter mayhaps? Usually if it is something like that it's just an ice breaker. If he would have offered a bunch of garbage players/picks, then he's just a d*mb@s$. :D

Actually, that was the whole offer from Tuesday... but today, he replied/countered and added GB WR Doubs as a "sweetener" with the 4.07 .
I declined as I have Jayden Reed and I don't need any more GB WR.

I countered his initial offer with Min RB A Jones (he has Mason), JAX RB Tuten & SF WR Jauan Jennings for Cinn WR Tee Higgins & TB RB Sean Tucker. He declined immediately

That's some real jerkitude right there to offer 4.07 as a real offer. Adding Doubs wouldn't change anything regardless, obviously. I'm glad nobody in my leagues act like that.

I realize I might be in the minority bc I'm quite a bit lower on Higgins then the community; but I think that was a great offer tbh and if I was him I think I would have accepted. It will come down to how quickly Aiyuk not only comes back, but takes to return to form; but especially if we baked in their start up values, give me Jennings over Higgins 9 times out of 10 (WR17 vs WR50). I'd be dumb to make the bet straight up, but add in Vegas odds and I'd happily lay money on Jennings having a better season than Higgins next year.

While I agree Jauan Jennings should start 2025 as a better Fantasy value, I don't expect him to be a long term value, thus the offer I made.
Aiyuk will certainly start slow (even if he starts week 5-6), but Kittle, CMC and Pearsall will be getting majority of the targets around midseason.
Add that Jennings at 27 for a "breakout" was more opportunity than talent. Granted Tee is 26 but has been Top 20 WR for a few seasons.

This all comes down to I was not giving away Tuten cheap. I see him as a potential RB2 for my team. Walker/Charbs and Kamara/Miller holding down the fort, but always need Bye/Injury depth

Oh sure, even I would value Tee way over Jennings. I just have the two closer than most; so in your proposed trade plus adding Tuten and Jones on top, I could see me biting on that one. I'm with you that I like the prospects of Tuten. Even if he never becomes the "lead" back there, I think he can/will hold value for a while there.
