According to the New York Daily News, QB Eli Manning (shoulder) was given a 3-4 week recovery timetable by team physician Dr. Russell Warren and Dr. James Andrews confirmed that diagnosis.
For several days the New York media consistently reported that Manning was day-to-day and might play this week, but it sounds like at least the Daily News is starting to think that the Giants are not being forthcoming about his true status. ESPN's initial report that Manning will miss several games is beginning to look more realistic, although the Giants continue to deny it. As a team source told the newspaper, "I'm hearing conflicting things. I don't know what to believe anymore."
Great job Mort...

And people on this board for saying Mort is an idiot.
The doctors said it is 3-4 weeks for recovery. They didn't say 3-4 weeks of no football in order to recover.Mort said he would MISS four weeks - which is seemingly just as wrong now as when he first reported it.And Mort is FAR from an idiot - his Sunday morning reporting is almost always dead on and is our bible - if Mort says someone is playing or not playiong he has an incredible track record of accuracy.
