yes - though I don't recall any discussion of going the bootleg live performance route - but definitely "live" albums are allowed. It's a slight cheat code if you wanted to use it as a "kind of top hits" collection since those are NOT allowed (so long Squeeze "Singles" )

I think the gist is if it was a commercially distributed live album it’s of but Grateful Dead live in Poughkeepsie Oct 3rd 1972 probably shouldn’t be included

I asked and things like Instant Live, albums recorded by archivists, etc. are all allowed so I assume bootleg recordings would be as well. However, despite having 35 live albums on my list, I limited it to official recordings which were widely released by the artists.

I've trimmed it to about 10. All are commercially available (I stayed away from the bootleg type for the reason you mentioned).

Terrible probably isn’t fair to Zeppelin they were a talented group of musicians and one of the best at ripping off Blues artists, but I could easily live my life without ever hearing Robert Plant sing again

Beatles are fine i don’t really have anything bad to say about them but still a Boy Band IMO.

Yea, maybe. Beatles definitely have more songs. But Zep's first 6 albums are all of the "classic" variety. 1-IV, Houses, Physical... I expect we'll see them all on this countdown. Presence and in/out... those are a solid maybe. I'm not sure we'll see six beatles or stones albums.

Beatles: Revolver, Pepper, White, Abbey, Let it Be... those I fully expect. Does Help, Rubber Soul, or MMT make it six or more? Maybe.

Stones: Beggers, Bleed, Sticky, Exile... Some Girls or Tattoo You maybe?

Floyd: Dark Side, Wish, Animals, The Wall... those make it. Meddle maybe?

It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out. Maybe I'm way off and "With the Beatles" (et al) ranks.

Right now from 160-300 there's a lot of albums that only appear on one list. Three people have listed an album as #1 overall (70 points) that no one else has listed and those three albums are still in the Top 160. Any album someone has picked in their Top 15 is holding onto the Top 300.

Yes, there is a lot of chalk in the Top 50/100 or so - lots of Beatles, Zeppelin, Floyd etc. - but there's also albums that don't generally show up on lists of top albums - and there's still intrigue as to which albums will finish Top 10.

Also there's a reason why chalk is chalk - the television list was much more chalkier (everyone knew what the Top 10 would be for the most part) which stands to reason since there's so so so many more albums than TV shows.

@John Maddens Lunchbox - this may encourage you to add a list.

Down to 78 albums by readjusting to 1 album per artist. Not sure I will stick with this but I am finding this extremely difficult. Everytime I try to do some adjusting, I get stuck pretty quick.

I kind of went the other way with my choices. It was "Ok, what album would I HAVE to have? That's #1. What's the next I'd have to have? That's #2". Then I stopped when I got to 70 and submitted the list before I could change my mind.

Because, otherwise, I know me and I'd have 2,500 LPs on a list and end up in 6 months of therapy trying to winnow them down. I know I'm gonna be kicking myself as the reveals happen, but my own sanity has to take the front seat

I blew through mine quick. Didn't limit myself to 1 per or anything but did try for a little variety too. I definitely missed a few but that's ok.
