I feel like you've not been to Austin.Nashville ALL DAY LONG on this poll..
I averaged out all possible answers and came up with Quito in Ecuador.I am interested in relocating from a cold weather city soon. What city would you recommend and why?
New Orleans is way too high on your list.Austin

I do Archaeology related work and am pursuing secondary education. Love to golf, swim, go to concerts and enjoy BBQ food.what kind of work do you do?
hobbies/interests?
NYC - Cost of living is insaneI am interested in relocating from a cold weather city soon. What city would you recommend and why?
Not against NYC, Seattle ,DC or Chicago, though.
love those year round highs in the low 60s!The San Francisco Bay Area is fantastic and probably the best place in the country to live especially in terms of weather,
I would change my vote to Austin then. Texas has better BBQ.I do Archaeology related work and am pursuing secondary education. Love to golf, swim, go to concerts and enjoy BBQ food.
That is true in the city of SF, but the weather in the South Bay, East Bay and Marin County is better/warmer. But no single person in their right mind would move to any of those places (other than maybe Oakland), so you have a point.love those year round highs in the low 60s!
The great thing about the bay area is you can live in the city if you like that "colder" weather (but please, 60s is NOT cold), or drive 5-15 miles east and get weather in the 70s/80s.love those year round highs in the low 60s!
only 1.6mm for this crawlspace in the TenderloinThat is true in the city of SF, but the weather in the South Bay, East Bay and Marin County is better/warmer. But no single person in their right mind would move to any of those places (other than maybe Oakland), so you have a point.
I thought this was an FBG we're talking about here. The richest archaeologist in the country.only 1.6mm for this crawlspace in the Tenderloin
WHAT A STEAL!

I'd put New Orleans right there with them or maybe even ahead of them - especially if you like it funky and brassy.Nashville and Austin have the two best live music scenes in the country.
:deadbanana:I was only commenting on the weather.
Some of our friends' have a daughter who just graduated from UCLA and got some kind of a starter job in SF. She is sharing a studio with a friend in Daly City for $2,400/month.
Might as well move to Lagos or Rio.New Orleans may be an outlier - but if you are a bit off the wall it may be worth looking into - it would take some mental strength but may be rewarding depending on what you like.
That just looks like a list of cities to me.
Given your work, DC might not be bad. Lots of colleges and universities in our area if you are looking for more education.NYC - Cost of living is insaneI am interested in relocating from a cold weather city soon. What city would you recommend and why?

Seattle - If you can handle some rain, it has a lot of positives, but it isn't the easiest city to make friends in. Traffic is pretty horrible too and cost of living is getting up there (primarily rent)
DC - No ####### way
Chicago - I lived there and hated it, but I had an unhappy marriage, had little kids and lived in a suburb (though a close-in one that was supposed to be good). Living in the city as a single guy would probably be much better. But the weather is still horrible and the city, county and state are still totally ####ed longer term. Not a place you would want to settle for the long haul.
guys... he's an archaeolgist- cost is no issue.I was only commenting on the weather.only 1.6mm for this crawlspace in the Tenderloin

My GF and I are considering moving to Denver/Boulder. We've been out there 3 times over the past year visiting and learning about the area. I was sold after hiking and just seeing all the hot fit chicks from CU hitting the trails. You should definitely strongly consider the Denver/Boulder area, as I think it has probably the highest quality of life in the country for single 20-somethings. Top-notch beer, live music, cannabis, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, and an exploding food scene. And there are tons of fit, single girls in Colorado, which is regularly ranked as the fittest state in the nation. The weather is also awesome here with tons of sunshine and four true seasons that are not nearly as cold as most people seem to expect.
I think Austin is probably the next best choice on your list, but it's still in Texas.
Snob.missing piles of info, like why, profession, status, yadda.
I voted overseas.......
The "scenery" on the hiking trails around Boulder is spectacular. Super fit hot college girls trail running in nothing but sports bras and skintight running shorts. :drool:My GF and I are considering moving to Denver/Boulder.
