Continuous Rays thread: fun season (3 Viewers)

For a few minutes, I thought this was going to end up like Sunday....and the first month of the season....a game we had complete control of but somehow lost. A 300 ft HR, a poorly timed rain delay, so many missed opps, but in the end Rodney is a different pitcher than he was in April.

Is Myers a liability in RF, or just learning his way around opposing stadiums?

Also Marc Topkin was on the radio this morning. Said the Rays are working on a trade for a bat that would be big "for the Rays".

Gotta think Raul Ibanez. They could just DFA Farnsworth and send Roberto to the pen for the next few weeks with all their off days.

 
Rays designated RHP Kyle Farnsworth for assignment.
Farnsworth was terrific for the Rays in 2011, but he's put up a 5.76 ERA over 39 appearances this season and has seen his velocity drop. The 37-year-old could catch on elsewhere, but his days of being used towards the back-end of the bullpen are likely over.

Haven't win a game in 9 days. It's really ridiculous how up and down this team is.

This hole gets any deeper and they may as well forget the Sox and start looking at that idiotic wild card game.

 
I should just bump my post from each of the last 5 years....but this has now become Maddons MO....his teams play hard and turn things around every time they get down...but they also disappoint every time they get up.

 
You wonder to yourself "why is this team doing poorly" and then you look up to see Ryan Roberts of all people, still being allowed to bat, striking out with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the 8th inning of a game they're losing.

 
@Ken_Rosenthal: Delmon Young will report to #Rays Double A Montgomery affiliate as opposed to Triple A Durham. His preference.

And now here's another losing streak.

I think the Sox are just the better team. Them going to LA and getting 2/3 while we just got blasted there was pretty telling. I guess September can change things but the Rays have been a yo-up all season.
