Thought I was going to see a no-no last night. Snell was brilliant. 

I couldn’t tell how close the 2-1 pitch to Rendon was, but it felt like the ump squeezed him. 3-1 cookie off the wall. 

At least we got to leave after that! 11 pm bed time is late on a Monday.

Yea I’m a little worried about another boring dome type but hopefully they come up with something creative. The Marlins Park seems like it has lot of open space and just seems like an awful place to watch a game.

I’m sure it is and I’m excited to see it. I have no idea how the funding will be put together but I also feel like they kind of have an answer for that already. The way Buckhorn has been crowing about this makes me feel like it’s alresdy done.

Yes this all seemed fun till Auld basically said they had no idea how this was being paid for? I’ve thought for the longest time that Buckhorn had it figured out but maybe not. Anybody know what revenue sources there are to pay for it?

The Rays haven't gone as far as to commit to even 15-20% of the cost, which seems customary these days.  All the talk about the stadium being a 365 days/year resource for the community would have me reaching to button up my pockets as quickly as possible.  Tampa/St. Pete doesn't have as many tourists to tax as Miami does and we all know how well that's working out down there.

Stu wasn’t interested in even going near financing questions in interviews.  Looking forward to paying for this thing forever.

They committed 150M a while back when the costs weren’t expected to be 900. I would expect them to commit 250.

The $900M price tag honestly has me feeling it's not realistic. Not sure how much longer Buckhorn is in office? And there are much larger city issues...water and transit to name two.  I'm not feeling very good about it coming in so high.

I’m not for public support of stadiums (I mean maybe 10-15%) so if they leave they leave. I’ll be bummed out and would hate to see them go but Tampa is barely paying their teachers. Coming up with at least 650M for a notoriously cheap franchise isn’t appealing to me. 

But, I’m not a Tampa resident and I want to take my kid to some games so

Yes. No. No history of working together at all actually, which is probably the biggest problem in this area.

The heat is the reason for the permanent roof and then the permanent roof means artificial turf, right?

It's interesting to me seeing these new parks proposed/built (counting the new one in Texas as well) with permanent roofs and turf. 

On one hand, I get that the technology and what they can do is light years ahead of the ones built in the 70s/80s and so you can have a great design with lots of natural light but I guess I'm surprised that on the same hand they aren't at a point where they can easily incorporate natural grass within that technology as well.

I know they studied switching to real grass in Toronto as well and found it wasn't really feasible because of the necessary light and drainage but man, turf just seems so much harder on players joints and also baseball should be played on grass.

As I’ve seen more and more stadiums I have to say any kind of a dome kind of sucks. I was at Atlanta’s place two weeks ago and it made me envious. Oh well. Climate here is untenable in the summer.
