Could Martz and Warner reunite in Detroit? (1 Viewer)

John Hadley, a close friend to Mike Martz, as well as a local all sports talk show host and former employee of Martz and the Rams (he did some statistical analysis for them) believes that once a deal is done with between Martz and the Lions that the Lions will make a run at Warner.

Link to Hadley's site. The blurb is a a couple of paragraphs down

This would make things much more interesting, eh?
Interesting. But I don't think it'll happen. Why would Detroit bring in a 35 year old QB for 1 year or so? It's not like they are 1 player away from the super bowl. Is Warner a RFA or UFA? If RFA I don't think any team would be willing to part with a draft pick or pay him a whole lot. If I were Detroit, I'd rather have McCown.

How did the Warner - Martz relationship end? I think it ended well on a personal level, but I think it might have been rough for Warner on a professional level.

Is anything more annoying when a coach changes locations than the constant yammering of them reuniting with former players from their old teams?

People complaining about the refs? ;)

I've been hearing this rumor also today. It depends on Culpepper finding his way out to the desert and then Arizona having no need for Kurt. I don't think it's gonna happen but if your Detroit Hell yes it is worth the difference. Kurt knows that offense and he'd have the weapons. They might be a couple of players away but a good qb makes a couple of so-so players alot better. So Kurt, in my opinion, would make them better at four or five spots. Now, I don't think it will happen because I don't think Culpepper is going anyhwere but if that could happen who knows.

Initial reports here state Martz likes Harrington.

Though Warner could be still brought in to push Joey.

I wouldn't discount it at all. I think however Kurt's very comfortable in Arizona (who wouldn't be?) & throwing to the best 1-2 WR tandem in the league isn't a bad gig.

Cutler will end up on one of those 2 teams (det/ariz). I just can't see Joey being in Detroit this season whatever the case is.

---------------------

I saw Cold Pizza today and they had someone on & he made a terrific point that it'd be interesting to see how Martz's adjusts to the Detroit WR crop as he's know for having shorter, fast WR's that can cut quickly.

What if:

Aaron Brooks heads to AZ?

Warner to Detroit?

interesting thought, I think........

Better for all FF players IMHO

Speaking as a Lions fan, just bring in a QB that can give us an honest appraisal of all of those 1st round picks.

Fans not being able to accept winning with grace?
You know, you're starting to stalk me more than Gigantomachia. :boxing:

Roy Williams should have a big year with Martz calling the shots.
Why? Will he be playing quarterback?
Believe me, I'm not a Lions, Harrington, or Roy williams fan. However Martz does ALWAYS air it out, always spreads the field, and ALWAYS take NUMEROUS shots downfield. Roy will get plenty of opportunities. C'mon you know Martz, he's not gonna get conservitive now. I KNOW there's no Holt, Bruce, Warner, or Faulk. BUT MARK MY WORDS MARTZ WILL OPEN IT UP AND THROW DOWNFIELD OFTEN.

I think your right. I am just poking fun at the quarterback situation in Detroit.

I like harrington this season. It takes a while for QB to develop unless you are talking about a freak of nature like Palmer or Peyton. I think he could make some strides this season under Martz's tutilige. (sp)

No matter how much of an IDIOT WE ALL KNOW MARTZ is, he IS an OFFENSIVE GENIOUS. I hate to put genious in the same sentence as Martz, but he is innovative. We're talking FF here, he does produce numbers.

This is what I want to see. It was difficult to get an honest assessment of the Lions WR with that uber-conservative offense that Mooch ran and with Joey at QB. I want to see Roy, Charles, and BMW run some Rams style WR patterns with some deep routes that actually go past the first down marker.

Please no more 2 yd hitch plays on 3rd and long.

Seriously, is this necessary?Bashing Detroit is becoming the oldest thing on these boards.

I would be very surprised to see Warner re-united with Martz.

a) Green wants him in Arizona.

b) Martz showed him the door already once; Warner will not go there just to be shown the door twice.

Above all things Warner wants to play and NOT HOLD the clipboard.

Warner was interviewed by the local ESPN Radio guys here in St. Louis. They asked him about what Arizona needs to do to get over the himp and he said a lot of "we need _____," and, "if we only did ______." Warner talked like he was still on the team and the interviewer addressed that and he said he wants to stay in Arizona. That contract talks were happening as I type this. But then the interviewer asked about MArtz in Detroit and asked Warner what he thought about that situation. Warner said his first chouice was Arizona, but if that fell through he would be all for reuniting with Martz. As a Roy Williams owner, I'd be giddy to see it not work out for him in Zona
